- I dread winter. Not because I hate the snow but mainly because I don't love all of the work that comes along with it... but, here we are - the start of winter.
Today I spent the day prepping some things outside before the snow (am I allowed to say that word?) starts rolling in...
Also worked on my declutter challenge and some other fun projects!

Hi! I should probably clarify that I didn’t take my gutters off of my house ha! I just took the shoots that are on the ground off (the extensions). With the Iowa winter winds ours will blow away. I hope that helps with the confusion!

I was just coming to the comments to ask why you were taking down your gutters. Remove the extensions makes much more sense than removing your downspouts.
I was just going to ask why you would do that. I am still a little confused, though. Sounds like you need a, or a better, coupler between the downspout and the extension. You really shouldn't have to take them in. 🤔
In your winter car kit, please include mittens! They will keep your fingers warm 10x better than gloves! 👍
And if you didn't include it, a long, warm scarf you can wrap around your neck and face. 👌
I live in Oklahoma. Our down spouts blow off constantly with a puff of wind or if we have a heavy down pour of rain. I love your video's.
@@kathyusa-iowa5137 the wind out here is insane. Even if we strap them on they will be blown off. Thankfully it’s super easy to just bring them inside for the winter months :)

Here in Upstate NY we get a couple cold days then it goes up to 50-60 degrees for a few, a wave like pattern that our local weather man says is in place for the whole winter... we’ll see how that prediction goes.I suffer from insomnia so I’m going to try the oils for better sleep. I’m so proud of myself as today I took 3 big garbage bags of clutter to the Goodwill, feels so good to let go of things that I don’t use, need, or want.

one other suggestion for winter car equipment is a small shovel. i have one in each vehicle

Holey Jeans is So My Generation in the 80's now it is coming back again I am so old 2.5 years till I turn 50 but my body feels like I am in my 70's especially in the morning being stiff as a board every morning LOL

I’d say nope! Everyone should do what’s best for them :) but also keep in mind that I don’t show every area of my house ❤️
My daughter is a declutter person, hates stuff building up and takes carloads to Goodwill all the time. I'm the opposite, things are sentimental to me so I don't declutter as much or as often, but both our homes are cosy and comfy. People are all different, no problem with that. 😉
That comment remindme of our parents housekeeper. Her house was so clear of everything, we called it a museum. Lol, bless her heart.

I'm in South Dakota and I don't know ANYBODY who removes the house gutters off for the winter!!! When there's a winter thaw, you'll have water problems!
It looks like she removed only the downspout extensions, not the actual gutters. I’m guessing those extensions are easily blown around by winter winds.

Why don't you take up some kind of needlework for its stress-relieving and relaxation effects? There is embroidery, cross-stitch, crochet, knitting, quilting, etc. Many on-line how-to's and simple kits you can start with. There must be some needlework or quilting groups in and around your town? They not only create things for themselves, but engage in charity works.
K Remi. She made a beautiful quilt and has done a lot of crocheting. She’s a fantastic party planner and if you need a fun baby or wedding shower you can plan on having a good time with her in charge. Her life doesn’t just center around what you are seeing. She likes to be busy at things she enjoys

Hi Phyllis! She does have a warm home :) our garage is much more warm than being outside and giving her a heater actually will make her more susceptible to getting sick from going from heat to negative temperatures if she chooses goes outside. Inside isn’t an option but I can assure you she is warm and well loved :)
Ollie (the cat) and Anna (DC + MC's dog) are part of the CS "family" and are treasured visitors in most of the CS associated videos! The CS "starz" look after ALL the resident critters, from what I've seen...and recently went so far as to "feed" many of the non-resident, but nearby deer..and I don't mean Deere...lol....
