Great guide! I wish we had people doing great guides like this years ago when i started playing the class instead of basic dulfy guides. The only thing i would add to really help player is the addition of starparse and then creating an audible alert to help with your dots and timing. It really helps me
Hey dude, Really fun guide! I’ve a viru main for quite a while now, and just recently started using Ultraviolet Blast in pve, and I’ve been finding it quite good for quite a lot of fights, especially fights with heavy target swapping (e.g Draxus and Brontes in DF, the whole of TFB, Pylon and Council in EV, Revan, and probably more). It takes a little getting used to though, as priority for fillers changes without the dot from lethal shot, but nonetheless it’s quite fun and I’ve surprised quite a few of the guys I raid with when the opener punches a lot more like a burst spec than a dot spec.
Cull is the damage button I wish Annihilate was for Annihilation, where you put your dots on them, then Annihilate, and watch as it makes the target go BOOM
Been playing Vir Snip for years now. This's a good guide. Nice and comprehensive for a single target. However, spreading DoTs can be an issue since Effective zone is actually pretty small. - more so than Madness/Balanced. Could you discuss this in a future video? Thanks.
Is it really necessary to use the cover mechanic? I don’t really like that, I like to move and strafe around a bit while in combat and not sitting there stationary… because I think in the rotation there are no abilities that require the cover right? The only thing I remember was suppressive fire but that’s not necessary for the normal dot rotation
I'm trying this build right now and I'm finding at the end of the rotation and a couple of fillers that all my abilities turn of for about 6 or 7 seconds then light back up, has the rotation for Virulence changed and needs updating??
Hi Im using the 1.3 GCD . what Rakata Relics should i be using ? i have 344 Rakata Relic 344 ... should i use Power or Crit Rakata relic for 2nd relic (PVE) ... im thinking Crit cause of m high Alac . but does my Vir Kit give any Crit Procs to my DoTs
I can say right now that surprisingly Virluence is parsing better than Assault spec/inov ordiance. I also find it far more enjoyable to play right now compared to Commando in general. They really need to buff Commando in the next few updates, Assault Spec needs a boost in its DMG or DOT's, and Gunnery just lacks killing power. Maybe perhaps an Armor Penetration round substitute for Demo Round for gunnery, The spec is focused on Armor penetration after all, but anything would be better. (Just for comparison in an unranked pvp match with gunnery i got around 100-200k DMG total, while Assault Spec has 4 mil, and just for lols, Virulence is in the 6-10 Mil range because of the DOT spread by corrosive gernade.)
I played Virulence on my Operative back in the day, such a fun spec. Probably the coolest most fun class I have ever played in any game. I should download this game again, but it's been years.
I might just be dumb but how did you get the sidebar set up for the dots? Just got back into Swtor and have been looking for an easy rotation class because of nerve issues. This guide is really helpful.
So that’s just a quick bar that I changed to show 6 slots total with 1 slot per row, which is what turns it vertical like that. If you’re looking for an easy class to play with some nerve issues, virulence is probably going to be your friend, since we sit in cover and don’t move much and don’t have many abilities to be stretching for. GL HF!
So crouch in combination with snap shot makes the next lethal shot an instant cast. It’s great for straight parsing, but you lose out on dampeners which is a great passive defensive.
Thanks for the video. I would really like your take on combat sent. It's my favorite spec in the game I have maxed out my damage output and I'm interested on your build. Thanks
Instead of the "Focused Integration" on the lvl 43 raw, you can go with the option for enrgy and that way I found out that you never have energy issues, makes the probe mostly not even needed. Yes, you dont get the double duarion from "Focused Integration" but, since you have the legendary, you can use it more often.
Same. I’m in 326. And do 26k dps. I’m on parsley. Under gungho guns. I reply dots every third rotation. In between I use 3 lethal shots and the free dmg one. Cull. Then two lethal shots and the other two cull. Reply dots with two shots and cull. Super easy.
@@IntoTheGalaxy66 26k! I did not buy the tactical, but i tryed this build. 14,5k dps shooting the dummy. The sniper discipline (same gear rating) is about 20,5k dps. Virulence at the Parsely statistics does about +-3k DPS more then sniper. I don't understand what I am doing wrong.
if you use weakening blast and virulence target with the uv blast tactical the burst is out of this world - possibly the greatest short duration burst in the game?
I wonder, does the Operative Lethality spec need some buffs currently? I mainly play this spec and now seeing the sniper with basically the same gameplay but higher damage from what I saw here (because they don't depend on those tactical advantages that got kinda nerfed in 7.0, Lethality now has 1 less overall and one less refund). Guess I'll have to give this spec a try with my sniper then. Anyway, thanks for continuing to make these guides, they are very easy to understand and well made!
Operative is actually kind of squishy, especially in engame pve. In pvp, however, it does amazing on all fronts. In pretty much all situations, operative will do excellent single target and aoe damage. I would play virilence if you're into endgame raiding - ranged dps is typically more useful. Virilence is way more survivable in a harder mode raid, and can usually have either equal or higher sustained dps bc you don't have to either follow the target around or get knocked back. If we're talking straight up dps, however, operative wins. It's really about what you like to play. If u play pvp, play operative. if you play a lot of pve, consider virilence. Until lethality gets some dcd buffs (preferably some kind of aoe damage reduction because it has none) u will find yourself dying often in hard pve raids. Leth op has amazing self heals, which is great in pvp, but costs a lot of gcds and just leads to a significant dps drop. In leth op, it doesnt have any options to really mitigate damage other than a 6 second ranged/melee immunity. Operative could be very survivable - but you'd have to spend all your time self healing and not doing any damage. That is why virilence is kind of just better in endgame pve.
This may be kind of a noob question (I'm returning to the game after a long absense)....but if Crit is needing to be stacked for PvP, can you just keep it that way for PvE, as well?
So in PvE, we need accuracy due to the natural defenses of most mobs, we want to make sure our attacks land in PvE, so we need 110% accuracy. In PvP, players don’t have that natural defense chance, so we can dump all that accuracy and replace it with crit instead.
@@Biggsgaming Thanks for the reply, man. So I guess it's the load-out and gear juggle, then. I haven't done PvP yet since I've come back, but I was considering it. Thanks again!
He explains the PvE rotation for pretty much half the video. Lower levels don't have those strict rotations because you don't have access to key abilities yet, you can only follow the very roughly.
augments and for some classes you need to have gear from other specializations from your alts to hit certain breakpoints, an unfortunate side-effect to there not being moddable gear. You'll see a lot of raiders right now wearing mix/matched sets of Rakata gear right now for this reason.
Yes, it has a much higher capability of damage right now. What marksmanship brings to the table in pve is the sundered debuff, which reduces the targets armor by 25%

Its great on Styrak and Trasher as well
In NiM content you only use it on Raptus, otherwise Exploited Weakness is way better.

also, don't use takedown while you have weakening blast on the target, just spam lethal shot (ticks WB)

Kind of a shame virulence operative isn’t a thing anymore. Only have lethality in it’s place, but that spec’s really fun too.
"If you can count to four, you can play Virulence."
Its a good thing I have 'I can only count to four' by Psychostick on favorites.
Hello love the vids 👍, but is there a target dummy that scales to lvl cos the one on the ship is lvl 80 and I'm currently 51 so I miss all the time?
there are level 10 target dummies on fleet: th-cam.com/video/O1yK01pwA1I/w-d-xo.html

Hey Biggs, the top parser used Crouch into the rotation. May I ask what does Crouch do? Does it buff the damage of the next direct single shot?
So crouch in combination with snap shot makes the next lethal shot an instant cast. It’s great for straight parsing, but you lose out on dampeners which is a great passive defensive.

Operative has 1000% more survivability than sniper, so sniper does more damage

just started this game, debating between this, or vanguard classes, which do u think has more overall fun factor?
I personally think Vanguard is more fun. Fortunately you’re able to pick both with combat styles though so play on player

Is this rotation good for pvp?
Is there any offensive benefit to being crouched throughout the rotation?
Increased energy regen rate while crouched. As well as you have a 20% higher chance to dodge ranged attacks while crouched
I'm back into this after 2 plus years of not playing with my Agent lvl 46 sniper any suggestions on pve rotation?

How do you get 7.2 alacrity while still keeping 110 accuracy? I can't hit both with any gear combination
