Trying Before Buying | Will the Hermes Mini Kelly Work??

- This year I want to be smarter with how I shop. In the past, I've purchased bags and never used them. After buying certain pieces, I realized that the style and functionality doesn't work and I don't love it as much as I thought. Now I want to find similar styles, try it out and then see if I want to invest or spend more on certain designer pieces.
Note: This bag is not an Hermes Mini Kelly. It is a similar style bag that I picked up from Etsy for educational purposes and see if this size will work for me.

I purchased this bag too after watching Caitlin’s video. I ordered the black but beige arrived
I’ve just ordered the lily & bean version because I like the style but wouldn’t pay the boutique price for a tiny bag. I plan to use it as a bag rather than as a temporary trial if I’m happy with the quality. I’m more open to non luxury options lately, if it’s so similar is it worth the money to trade up? It’s a good idea to try before you buy to avoid expensive mistakes but I worry about what happens to all these cheaper bags when we are done with them, aren’t we moving away from throw away items that end up in landfill? it’s not sustainable.

I loved this video! I have thought of doing the same thing with a Birkin-type bag. Even if you have the opportunity to look at a bag in-store, it is very different to be able to try it on at home, put your things in it and wear it around the house. TFS!

If H made it easier to look at the bags we wouldn’t need to do this. 😂😂😂 I definitely think when you don’t have easy access to seeing these pieces in person it is a really good idea to try a similar style first because it is so much money to just go in blindly. Great topic! 🖤🖤🖤

I do this all the time. I had a dupe kelly and Birkin before in bought the real thing. I have bought other hermes dupes and they have really helped me not get the real thing🎉

I would definitely try the lily and bean one to test it out. I would not spend the money on the mini Kelly. There’s just so much I could do with that money. What is the bag to your side peaking out. Great video.

Jenni I agree with u ❤ this is not a replication and so why not try it out before spending that kind of money. Bag designers are making bag similar to other bags designers for that reason like Coach and Louis Vuitton. Thanks for sharing it was an informative video. 🎉

I loved this video! ❤ such a helpful tip to try before you buy. I actually did that with the Coach Cassie - I bought it to try before buying a Pochette Metis. Turned out I loved the bag! Now I have two Coach Cassies and still no Pochette Metis. 😂 so either way, still a good money saving tip lol!

What do you think about a couple of TH-camrs who claimed they were able to get an Hermès unicorn bag like Kelly or Birkin without any purchase history?
I've bought some homewares: ceramic and leather trays, tissue holder, cushions and blankets and sandals etc. But not the amount people say you need to spend to be "eligible" for a bag.
I've never really wanted an Hermès bag. But recently I've started to change my mind... and I'm tempted to just go in and ask 😅 what's the worst they can say? No. Lol.
I agree with trying before you buy very expensive items. I did that with my chanel WoC. I have three WoCs now 🥰
I searched high and low for dupes and the Coach fold over crossbody was so similar in size, dimensions and compartments. And I loved it. So practical and roomy for a tiny bag ❤

I purchased one from poshmark for a wedding the seller said it was HandbagsResort I looked it up they’re stuff is neat. I ended up not using it for a wedding. My daughter got paint on it so I decided to go nuts and draw all over it, she’s obsessed with it. The mini kelly is a great bag but for 10k plus 🤣 they can keep them all. You seem like you feel real guilty about buying that, you shouldn’t. It’s a bag at the end of they day lol silly stuff. I bought a “Birkin” when Amazon had them back in 2019 and it’s a great bag. Because I liked the style I purchased a Garden Party and that’s way more “reasonable” IMO. I love both and I wear them both 🤷🏽♀️ everything isn’t for everyone, and that ethics speech..save it lol none of these fashion houses are ethically correct. ✨

There's nothing wrong with buying dupes definitely not replica of course with the brand name,styles always get copied and it's totally fine when they don't pretend to be the brand .Not just for trying even to have the style with a reasonable price.I got my lily and bean yesterday not for trying purpose though I never spend that kind of money on a bag. I love it great quality real leather and serves the purpose for me beautifully.I just wish my phone would've fit.I have a huge phone😩
Totally! The price on the mini kelly is insane but it’s still so much less at the boutique. The preloved prices are outrageous.
