Welcome to Real Talk Season 2! For this season we decided to take Real Talk out of the studio and hit the road. Join us as we visit 11 EF exchange students and their host families, across the USA. Our students share their stories, tips on how to make the best of your year abroad as well as show us their daily life living in the USA!
This week we meet Anna from the Netherlands who spent her EF exchange year in the capital of South Dakota, Pierre. Moving from a large capital city like Amsterdam to a small American town can be quite a transition. In this episode Anna tells us why she loves living in a small town, about becoming a part of her big host family and she also brings us to cheer at a high school baseball game.

I think the host of this program was a great hire. Seems like she is a great ambassador for the US even though she is not American. Talking English instead of saying speaking English the only giveaway she is European.
I have long thought it would be nice if schools said a few words during an early year assembly about reaching out to their exchange students to make friends. Especially in the really large schools. That and fund raisers to maybe give a student that normally would not be able to do an exchange because of the high cost.
