Thank you so much for such a great lecture. I have learned a lot from this. But I have a query. If moderated-mediation index given by specific indirect effect is insignificant, then we need to check conditional indirect effects or not? if yes, then can conditional indirect effects at mean, SD +1 and -1 be significant?
If in measurement model we remove some indicators as they have low factor loadings, in structural model assessment through process whether we should use all the indicators or just selected ones that were selected in the measurement model assessment??
One more query, I performed analysis in PLS by using disjoint two stage approach (Backer et al) as my Mediator and DV are HOCs. My query is when I shall run moderated mediation in Process tool, I shall draw the model as i draw in Smart PLS4 measurement model stage 2 by taking LVS from measurement model stage 1? Regards
Dear Sir, Could the PLS-SEM approach be used to estimate moderated mediation like this, or is it only applicable to simple moderation? Also, if the moderator simultaneously moderates one direct effect (IV -> DV) and one indirect effect (IV -> Mediator -> DV; path is identical to the one in this video), should I use the PROCESS model to estimate both of these moderating effects, or just the latter (i.e., use PLS-SEM for the former)? Thank you very much.
Yes, you can use PLS-SEM for the moderation, but then you may have to do manual calculations. Instead, use Process and there are minimum manual calculations.
Fantastic learning thank you for the knowledge. Could you please share the video for AMOS used to analyse the mediated moderator. Thank you and much appreciated.
Thanks. I am glad you liked it. I haven't got any on mediated moderator but there are on Moderated Mediation. Please visit the playlist th-cam.com/play/PLb7vm6tsQ3Kvinj9MFF6wbQFDBdkU1ERP.html
I have two questions 1. Do you first assess the measurement model (internal reliability, construct reliability, convergent validity, and discriminant validity) and then do the bootstrapping? 2. While assessing the discriminant validity, I get an HTMT value of 0.907 for the interaction effect (P5), which is obviously not in the accepted range, is this an issue? I am confused since I don't see how the discriminant validity should be relevant for the interaction effect
AOA. I hope you are doing well. Can you please guide me in SmartPLS 4 when I run moderated mediation in Process tool, in case of multiple moderators, I shall run moderators in one go or run one moderator at a time on the indirect path?
Respected sir if I run the model with all moderators, conditional indirect effect shows me paths like this SL -> SE -> SP conditional on Inno at +1 SD and Supp at +1 SD and Bur at +1 SD. It is not showing me the paths separately for every moderator at +1, mean and -1 SD. If I run every moderator separately then it shows paths separately like SL -> SE -> SP conditional on Inno at +1 SD SL -> SE -> SP conditional on Inno at -1 SD SL -> SE -> SP conditional on Inno at Mean
Dear Faward, could you please show us how to on when using seminr in R to analysis PLS-SEM, how can we easily get simple slopes for moderation analysis (simple slopes for +_SD of Moderator)? Also, is there easy way to conduct moderated mediation (conditional indirect, conditional process) analysis like in PROCESS in SPSS and get the index of moderated mediation, and also the indirect effects when the moderator is high and low (+_SD)? I saw an article, Cheah, J.-H., Nitzl, C., Roldán, J. L., Cepeda-Carrion, G., & Gudergan, S. P. (2021). A Primer on the Conditional Mediation Analysis in PLS-SEM. in case our mediation effect is non-significant, then we must stop testing moderated mediation? If this stopping happens, should we take out the moderator from our write-up?
@@researchwithfawad yes sir there is moderated mediation in my model. So if i go for the process, I need to run cfa and measurement model assessment through pls sem or not? Need to run both cfa and measurement model or just cfa will be okay?

AOA. Can you please guide me how to report conditional direct effect in SmartPLS 4 using PROCESS tool. As i have learned from your video how to report conditional indirect effect, but my query is how to report conditional direct effect. As in my model, i am checking moderation effect at high and low levels between IV and mediator. As we get index of moderated mediation in Con mediation, how we can get this index in conditional direct effect. Thanks in anticipation
Highly obliged for your timely response. I have already seen both videos, but my query is still there, as in PLS 4 PROCESS tool, we use conditional indirect effect to check moderated mediation (e.g., Con mediation). What is the function of "Conditional direct effect" in PROCESS tool using SmartPLS 4. If you have any link related to conditional direct effect and its interpretation, please share that link as well. Stay safe. Regards
AOA. I have another query as well. When we will run PLS algorithm, shall we draw arrow of moderator(s) on endogenous variable(s) or draw its interaction term or both to report measurement model results? As in my case, I do not have direct hypothesis of moderator toward endogenous variable(s). My hypothesis is like this, " suppose role stress moderates the relationship between IV and DV". So, in this case, when we will run PLS algorithm, shall we just draw moderator interaction term or also draw arrow pointing towards DV keeping in view my hypothesis? I did different analyses, as in my 1st analysis by running PLS algorithm, I just added moderator and connected it to DV, R-square value was let say 0.250. When i did analysis again by adding just moderator interaction term between path, its R-square was different from the previous one i did without interaction term, just pointing arrow of Mod towards DV. 1. Which way is appropriate in my case? 2. When we will check moderator effect at low and high level in structural model, we will check R-square value with and without interaction term, in that case when we will check R-square value without interaction effect, shall we delete the moderator variable or just need to delete it interaction effect arrow pointing between IV and DV? Need kind advise. Best Regards

@@researchwithfawad can we also compute it manually? for example we can compute the mediating effect by multiplying the 2 direct effects

Yes it will work fine.
Can I use categorical variable as a moderator instead of continuous moderator and analyse the model using conditional mediation?
Thanks for watching. Yes you can.
Can we run Moderated Mediation using PLS not PROCESS?. because I ran it in PLS and it gave me results as well.
Yes if the moderator is between IV and Mediator.

No need for LVS in process tool. You will use composite score for the variables by taking the means.n
