I find it interesting how Fluttershy and Discord's relationship was foreshadowed in season 2 episode 1. Fluttershy was the only one of the mane six to stare at Discord's glass picture. When Discord was talking to the mane six and Celestia from the glass picture, he knocks on Fluttershy's image. Finally, when they meet face to face, Fluttershy is the only one that frustrated Discord when his mind games weren't working on her and forcibly corrupted her.
Who knew the most timid and shy pony would be able to bring some order and understanding to the embodiment of chaos. I feel what’s so compelling about their relationship, is that it’s the perfect example about how “opposites attract”.
This is waaaaaaaaayy cuter than Dislestia, sure Discord gave her flowers that ONE TIME but that was to make up for all of the mayhem that he caused. He spends like 90% of his time with Fluttershy and he ADORES her!
I really liked that first tea party. He obviously was not taking it seriously and taking advantage of Fluttershy inocense whole messing around with the rest of the crew, but the second flutters said he was her friend too he was genuinely touched. It's a beautiful example of disarming an agresor with pure kindness and the reason why I adore flutters and this ship
personally, my favorite one that shows they care about each other, is the fact Discord nearly killed himself by accident because he tried to be 'normal' for Fluttershy. Fluttershy was against it not only because he would be gone but because he wasn't being himself. that and when he finds out Fluttershy was kidnapped by the Changelings he growled out *"Where"* and you know he was asking what species will he be turning inside out...or drop a pair of meteorites on them after he gets Fluttershy.

But seeing as his ideas were nothing like Fluttershy’s parties he thought he was doing them wrong. So he made his home, party and even himself “normal” as in dress Mr. Roger’s style. This not only confused Fluttershy but worried her as the result of him trying to be normal was causing him to literally start vanishing and disappearing before her eyes until she helped him become chaotic enough to save himself.
There’s legitimately a moment where Angel bunny is acting like fluttershy and says “I wanna marry discord” very obviously saying that fluttershy probably talks about him to Angel bunny and Angel bunny is seeing it as an obvious trait she displays
Discord puts up a bold act around other ponies, but when it comes to flutter shy, he acts so much like a softy, and the episode" make new friends but keep Discord," discord wanted to send tree huger to another realm because so discords friendship with flutter shy can stay strong.
All of this evidence plus the fact that Fluttershy represents the pan flag means that fluttercord is basically canon and the only reason they haven't kissed in the canon is that MLP is not that kind of show. I mean, Discord and Fluttershy basically live together in the later seasons

I think Fluttershy was cutting Discord so much slack & showering him with extra compliments in the episode from Season 3 because she hoped her goodwill would inspire him to change his ways or tone down his antics. He's used to everyone telling him what he CAN'T do or being upset at his pranks, like the class clown that enjoys disrupting the teacher with a well-timed fart joke. She probably figured that giving him some space to flex his creative muscles without reacting to his mischief would help him calm down. Jokes aren't funny without the punch line. Also, AppleJack's "these prison bars are the only reason why you're not dead" face while comforting heartbroken Fluttershy will never cease to be hilarious.

In the last episode os the last season, Discord opens a portal for Fluttershy to meet with Twilight and gives her a paper brown bag of lunch, he also opens those portals around her sanctuary And something someone said in a different comment section, it was apparently intened for them to kiss in the background of said episode, but they didn't do it. Also Angel Bunny calls Fluttershy out in an episode when they switch bodies, Angel says Flutter wants to marry Discord while pretending to be her

Admittedly, he was more than a little bit manipulative and slightly emotionally abusive at first, until he realized that Fluttershy being his friend was more important than having tons of chaotic fun, at which point he changed for the better. Of course, it wasn't until he was betrayed by Tirek that he realized that what he did was horrible and made a permanent heel-face turn
And, setting away his own pride he said sorry and made amends. He made up for what he did by still being a good friend ( or more :> ) To Flutter Shy :)
I'm a true fluttercord fan, but I'd like to say the beginning is totally false. Fluttershy admits that she was just faking it to gain discord's trust and friendship, it worked though. One idea I think of is in the latest ep of mlp discord only helps star light and trixe because the bugs kidnapped fluttershy, he didn't care when star light went over names only to care when she said something about twilight's friends. His eyes actually started burning kinda when he thought of fluttershy being kidnapped. Actually that whole entire ep shows how much discord loves fluttershy. It is on season 6 episode 25 and 26.
