  • This was such an enigma. It is a simple song but there has to be so much more. One thing though, it takes guts and talent to go out of your comfort zone.... and obviously RM has both here in his new album.

Listen to the album top to bottom…it makes sense. I personally loved it..different for him but great.

In Bangtantv channel they released Mini Moni music, a video of Rm and Jimin listening and talking about the album and the songs. It was a lovely and genuine chat with snippets of the album songs 💜

"the name tag that appears at the beginning of the “LOST!” music video, sums up the album’s storyline. It’s the process of wandering around his poetic head, which no one can organize, in the form of a building made up of various rooms. ..." he travels through levels. In this horizontal and vertical movement, RM searches for his “Right Place.” In the music video for “LOST!”, he climbs the bodies of other “RMs” to a studio where a TV show is aired. In real life, RM is a favorite of TV show hosts. As he raps in “Lost!”, the lyrics go “I snap into it, suddenly I’m in an empty street. Time flies like an arrow, the 14-year-old kid is now 30.” In the music video for “LOST!”, RM is forced to walk looking narrowly ahead or climb upwards. "

Have you listened to the whole album. I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
This video is just his own mind really. Watching himself perform, watching himself climb to the top only to wonder what was he doing there. Running on a ferret wheel in a never ending journey they doesn’t go anywhere.
He is a grown man struggling to grow up after having all of his 20s leader of BTS with not only the group but also the company on his shoulders.
Most people don’t go out of their lanes because they need to sell. If they become too unpredictable they might not be able to pay their bills.
As he said in an interview, his burden is also his blessings. He has the financial security now to make whatever music he wants.
A real luxury for a lot of musicians.
Thanks for pointing out the mugs with the hangul that mirror each other! The Hangul on each of the cup apparently made to look like both Namjun’s name and something else in English (JOKE I think?) I saw that on Twitter.
Isn’t it interesting the in both this music video and the other one, Come Back To Me, there theme of ESCAPING with all these exit signs and that door he kept trying to get out through and finally managed to open.

I read the mugs say Inside Namjoon. And there are Exit signs and fans (as in air conditioning) all over BTS MVs. There are many theories about it.

Ah yes you are lost and confused just like the song and what Namjoon is saying .. this is the whole point . The MV is inside Namjoons brain the part in office sections each of the personas inside his head doing different things but ultimately all confused and lost. The sections of office potraying his brain parts being like a hamster wheel going through the daily grind but still confused and unhappy. The scenes on a talk show him being in foreign countries not really understanding them being fake cheerful for the camera but behind it moody, then cutting him off in the middle of a song and him looking upset and lost because he never got to finish . This is ultimately about Namjoon being lost iand confused

In a world of bland homogeneous pop. RM makes you stop and think. Its strangely addictive and after a 4th or 5th listen... its a favourite. In a world of fast fashion and fast pop designed more for the fast buck than art. RM is that rare breed. A successful artist with alot to lose who just wants to make music. He trusts that his fans are not stupid and will enjoy complex ideas, interesting sound scapes and music designed to provoke your own imagination not be disposable brain dead junk.😊

Im not sure about the full interpretation but at least something that i caught when watching the MV is that all the guys in the maze having RM nametage, so i think they represent different parts of his personality trying to make their way out of the maze. And its interesting that he had to use the other personalities as a ladder to eventually find the exit.

Yea, they represent different characteristics he has. It's nice, that they will work together, I thought.

I guess this mv was a representation of what it's like inside his head (ie somewhat weird?) The 4 other people wearing the oversized sandy suits represent different aspects of his personality (2 that have been confirmed by their actors were "anxious" and "overconfident") and perhaps he himself was playing the expressionless diplomatic version that is the public face?
I think watching the minimoni music album exchange will give a better sense of what he was thinking and trying to achieve but I'm not sure if you should watch that before or after attempting the album.
The album itself felt cohesive to me, both thematically and musically. But it's not a super accessible album. (although very namjoon, I thought!)

I understood it immediately. A lot of the video’s concept/the song’s message is very transparent even though the imagery is chaotic.
Also the first verse put me in the same mood the Talking Heads do. There are so many elements in the whole production that reminds me of different movies, books, artists, etc that I love. Yet it’s still very Namjoon.

bts as a group and soloists are just tooo advanced now they are way beyond kpop and honestly they are the only ones who are doing somethings unique cause kpop releases these days are so bad this is my personal opinion btw

Lol, I was lost on my first watch. The more I watch it & listen, the more I like it.
I dread to think what would happen if I tried to make a song & MV representing the inside of my brain, lol. It would start out all happy happy joy joy, turning into a horror movie, probably trapped in a church, trying to escape. 😬 😏😭

RM also said it is about someone feeling lost and expresses how lost he felt for a year and 3 months (2022 -2023). He says LOST best represents the album. You can watch the album discussion on BangtanTV channel

LOST represent the album, but it all comes down to Come Back To Me.
