Those pylons in the trail are so dumb. Line choice is part of what makes DH so fun to watch. Hopefully they get rid of them in the regular season. Bad for riders and bad for TV imo.
Allow me to play devil's advocate, but I think restricting line choice is exactly why they are there. In 2020 season, they used Maribor and Lousa twice, only "changing the tape" for the most part, in 2021 season Snowshoe was used twice and also merely modified with new taping. These pylons could be used in such a way, I do not know if they plan on doing back to back races in the same location again, but it does make a certain sense financially and broadcast wise, for instance if they have more complex camera setup it might make sense to do two races on a track.
Not much time between runs might make it tough on mechanics to wash bikes and work on them in time. Will riders start having two fully built bikes ready to go just in case?
@Day light thanks; have discovery actually announced a viewing schedule or location? The rights have been purchased but do they actually intend on using them?
Lourdes and rain... I think of you drink it you get cured of all illnesses? Or is that just specific water? L'eau est formidable en Lourdes n'est pas?? ...Or something
Random pylons tell me everything I need to know about the new organization. People who don't know the sport are hiring people who kinda know the sport and want to justify new jobs with the new org and finding ways to fuck with the rules and the taping and the minutia... Literally administration dorks... Are grasping at dollars in this new system. DH was absolutely fine as it was. The only problem was not enough money. So the new org's solution is introduce a paywall and then not compensate any or the majority of riders? While raising pit fees? Or what? Please tell me I'm wrong, I'd love to be wrong here...
Dude don't you get that riders weren't paid by RedBull even before? Like, the were characters in a race-long RedBull commercial, without seeing a cent. At least this way it's fairer for everyone, and I am sure as things develop everyone will be compensated fairly.
evidently you know nothing about the guys on the ground who work for ESO. One of them is a former Junior World DH champion, other members of the team include a former DH World Cup racer, and former technical delegate for the UCI.
@@gabrielmazza7923 Red Bull wasn't charging for the stream. That's the point. You're sure everything will be okay in the future? You are? Well I'm sure the riders appreciate the sentiment.
@@EmilyHorridge doesnt mean theyre here to do right by the riders. again, theyre working for bosses who may have no idea. and when you need to justify your job you toe the line. im already not a fan of the new schedule/points/rules... we'll see how the riders feel. ultimately they're just gonna adjust cuz they have no choice. but they should at LEAST get paid. if im paying to watch riders, pay the riders. and not just the podium riders who get a check that covers breakfast...

I assumed it was to force a line for the telemetry or am I overthinking it/them?
I agree, those things are blocking the best lines and making it sketchier for everyone. It's a DH race not a slalom 😭
Just as bad as hitting a root at high speed, hope the UCI are held accountable for the aftermath

so glad all the riders are vlogging now because FUCK paying for the races lol
i would probably pay if it had a direct influence on Riders prize winnings etc

Disappointed that redbull have dropped the coverage. Has anyone any new information on where it will be broadcast??
#paywallsucks
They didn't drop it, they got dropped. Discovery/Eurosport bought the rights
@Day light thanks; have discovery actually announced a viewing schedule or location?
The rights have been purchased but do they actually intend on using them?
Loic BRUNI CHAMPIONS 🫡🥇
Louc so smooooooooth
Was there any response from the organizers? Surely you weren't the only one who had concerns about the tape etc
What kind of "yellow" brakes are you using? Magura something?
Yes he is on Magura brakes. Looks like the mt7 raceline model
Mega what..?!?
