My horse would kind of rear up on her hind legs so her head was above water but she coikd touch her feet on the underwater land. Almost like walking on her hi`nd legs. It was FUN! Fun with horses.
If your saddle is custom fit to your horse, you don't need a half pad. :) A lot of people, including myself, use half pads that have pockets in them so that they can put wool pads in them to make the saddle fit better.
Just a tip for when you take the horses swimming you should lean forward with you hands on there neck and feet on the bum it makes it easier for the horse and more comfortably for you. Love you guys amazing video

I remember doing something similar. Only my horse went down the RIdeau River!!! She ended up 8 farms away from where she was supposed to be!! All I had was a soft rope lead. So I got ahead of her, jumped out, told the farmer in a few sentences what was happening, he told me go, by this time, I'm 10 farms away!! So I get in the river and swim out to her. I made a figure 8 from behind her ears and over her nose. Directed her back to the farmer who had let me in, and out I came. I rode her back bareback to the farm where she was supposed to be. Thank goodness it was a hot day, somewhere around the 104°F mark. Because we were both almost completely bone dry,just walking back about 1 mile. But then again, this is also the same horse I rode through a drive-thru at McDonald's!!! That's a totally different story! Glad everyone had fun, Jenn.

Had my first driving thing today. It went ok. But I must say I’m definitely a stress case! Don’t really like it at all. It dosent help when nobody understands how nervous I am with it. Very stressful lol

Just a cool thing I learned about swimming with horses, is that when you swim with them its safer to use split reins because if there were an accident and the horse got its foot stuck in the reins it can pull there head under and they can drown. Just a quick tip its totally fine if you disagree just thought I would share!!

If you don’t smile from swing a horse in playing in water, something is wrong with you. 😁 next time maybe do the bitless tack that you have so the horses can enjoy playing without pulling on the mouth so much. Believe me, I know that the girls having some control needed but I think they would. do fine with the bitless tack you all use. It so so nice to see Sofia enjoying time with Finn.

i have taken a horse swimming before and it is the most bizarre and cool feeling ever but not something you can explain. All the horses did fantastic. It's great that you have a spot to take them because swimming is great exercise for them! Great vlog guys

Yesterday I had a horse lesson and it ended early... my trainer got a call from the manager saying there was an emergency at the house..the house is the owners actual house and a lot of the staff and trainers ride there and keep they’re horses there...we had to un tack our horses and leave immediately..it was raining and we were worried something happened to a horse.. all of a sudden people were rushing everywhere and I think the vet was called.. we were so worried but no one would tell us what was happening..pls pray everything is okay...❤️ Love you Daybyday!

I must admit when you arrived and I saw how busy it looked, I was a bit worried, I’d probably have left lol, but it seemed to get a bit quieter....phew. I’m glad you had fun and you’re right, horses do get confidence (or not) from whoever is handling them and I also think you are all much more experienced on how to approach things now too 😊 I hope Sophia enjoyed herself, even though she didn’t get to go in the water on Finn, maybe next time if you take a mounting block with you too 👍 Not all horses do enjoy the water and swimming and all credit too you if Storm wasn’t enjoying it that you didn’t try to push him further 👍

It was lovely watching the horses swim especially Finn & Tex as they where swimming with the girls. I really would like to do it myself but I can't at the moment as I don't have a trailer to fit my 19.1hh horse. Also did you know sea water encourages hoof growth and the load bearing aspect of training in the Sea helps any horses/ponies, as the cold water cools the feet and relieves pain. That is why I want to take my horse to the beach to strengthen his hoofs and legs as he had surgery recently.

We took my puppy that’s a dachshund to the river for the first time and she did so good and I’m so proud of her!

for a treat for your chickens you should freeze blueberries we do that with ours it’s really nice especially for summer we have a blueberry tree all tho it’s supposed to be a bush it’s grown into a tree so we that’s wh6 we do it
