Jim’s comedy is about as timeless as it gets. I’ll listen to his albums from the 00’s and they’re still funny. Hard to say that about most comic’s body of work-20 years later and it still makes you laugh.

I like Jim Gaffigan, but when he's on The Late Show, like this, it's like all he's doing is his stand-up routine while sitting down, totally scripted, not at all like a real conversation with Stephen. It's funny, yeah, but what I usually like about Stephen Colbert and his guests is that there's usually a genuine conversation going on, not just being fed a setup question so the guest can continue on with their script.
Are you against, "sitting down, stand up"?...

he's a comedian
His comedy is as natural to him as laughing. Jim is going to do his comedy and wants people to laugh. On another note...Ive seen clips of earlier comedians, the great ones. I notice a recurring theme...they rarely get into anything too personnel, are all private and relate basic info on their personnel lives and families, and Always they would do stsnd up ...sitting down. Comedians are generally private about their relationships and very open about trying to get people to laugh.

One can tell many of the members of the audience were only there to hear Colbert trash conservatives and didn’t know what to do with Jim Gaffigan not telling perfectly PC jokes. Like the audible gasp when he dares to make a joke about his wife being solely responsible for his sleepiness?

Just look at him. He has excess fat in places like under his chin, indicating a fatty liver. Bad diet, lack of exercise, probably heading toward diabetes.

Jim is pure gold. Every. Single. Time.
I come from a family of six kids. I am number four. We never all went on vacation. Six kids on vacation means 8 changes of clothes every day, 8 meals 3 times a day = 24 meals a day, 24 bathroom breaks (healthy bowels), snacks, all traveling in a VW bus. Keeping track of 6 kids, 2 adults and one dog. No wonder Dad built us a cabin in the woods by a lake. We always knew where we were going and how much it was going to cost. I would get car sick and have to stop either to throw up or just to take a break. But after I was sick, I felt fine and was ready to continue. Those were the best years of my life.
Coming from a family with just my brother and I, fighting relentlessly, tying each other to trees, I always thought it would be so much fun to have more siblings. But now that I’m the age they were then, I realize they never would’ve survived. Our happy place was a tiny cabin too on a creek up by PSU where he went to school. Funny thing my brother and I never fought that week. Here’s to incredible levels of Dad patience and direction no matter the brood;)
We are 20 siblings, including me. The youngest was born in 1986. My mother had ten of us and the aunt had 12 as well. Two passed away. We grew up in this large compound villa, with two separate houses back in Mogadishu. Now we are scattered all over the world - Canada, U.S., Eastern Africa, Middle East and Europe with all our own children, which happen to be around 120+, not counting the grandchildren.
Gaffigan has a joke about going on a European vacation with--maybe it was four kids at the time--and how it was like taking a pile of money and setting it on fire.

I don’t like this format. It’s been going on for years where a comedian has a routine and they get prompts and deliver their jokes conversationally as if their routine was just coming off the top of their head.
You'll never hear Gaffigan complain about "Woke-ism" hurting his act.
I was experiencing tiredness and fatigue, thinking I had heart issues but found out I had an iron deficiency.
I love The Gaffigan’s so much I subscribe to his TH-cam channel and watch his compilation videos daily for a great laugh.
Jim is just a wonderful storyteller and sees the humor in everyday situations that are so hilarious.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

@@jenniferedson5402 I have a borderline version of hemochromatosis. The main thing for me is that I am tired and I have to make sure to NOT take a vitamin with iron included.

I had four young kids at home and got to the point that I would have to roll off the sofa, crawl over and pull myself up using some external aid. Standing up was just not an option.
Hotel Pools is one of the best American stand-up bits I've ever seen - I laughed so hard that my neighbours must surely think I'm on medication.

@@marred2277 in the pre-interview it was likely decided Stephen wouldn't do a "real" interview and would instead say prompts for Jim to do parts of his routines.
@@flinx yeah, and sure, most of the time comics try to slip in some of their bits, it just seems like nobody is trying here. Or maybe I'm not enough of a fan of Gaffigan to not see the seams.

Living overseas I discovered Jim only during the pandemic. Like many others who were unaware of him from his earlier work, I discovered his hilarious family videos on TH-cam during the initial 2020 lockdown

He doesnt really pause to talk. Like he’s doing standup sitting down. I like him, but I wish he would engage as a guest on a talk show rather than just reeling off a string of jokes from his latest routine.

I have four kids. Then I got a vasectomy because, obviously, wife and I had no discipline. Gaffigan is Irish-American, might be Catholic. I have no excuse. Three of my kids are at least 40 now but I only have 3 grandchildren because my kids looked at me and my wife and said, "F that life".
We always want our kids to have it better than we did, so hey, mission accomplished.
LMFAO! Jim Gaf is one of the best stand-up comedians on Earth! Jim is definitely the most funny when you have a family! His jokes hit hard when you are in your late 20s, or 30s, or 40s... Who am I kidding? He is absolutely hilarious as long as you have kids.

I hope you will pursue an in-clinic sleep appointment, likely with a different doctor. There are other sleep disorders that do not result in drops in O2 and you would need to have the proper wires to detect them-- am at-home kit won't do it. I know the odds are higher of me waking up on the moon tomorrow than you somehow reading this comment, but I can hope.
