- The Pentagon says it will "rush" Patriot air defence missiles and artillery ammunition to Ukraine as part of its new military aid package.
However Patriot systems for launching the missiles will not be sent, Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Patriots were "urgently" needed to face a growing Russian air threat and "can and should save lives right now".
On Saturday, Ukraine said Russia had carried out another massive air attack.

Yes the attitude in the US congress / Senate is always: Its just printed money anyway, so who cares. Its not like it has to come out of already stretched thin road or school budgets. Its not "taxpayers money" either. There is no direct link to anything except it eventually comes up in red numbers on the national debt. But who cares about that, right. Either way. The money doesnt leave the country. It goes to US weapons manufacturers where its beneficial to the US economy and creates jobs and makes everybody look great for the upcoming election.

A waste of money, sure... But most people think this is money that will simply be given away to war. Most of this is about sending them a bunch of missile trucks that were built for the Iraq war in 1991. And decommissioned in 2007. Equipment that has been rusting away in military depots all over many different countries for decades. So why the crazy evaluation? The evaluation is what they estimate they should give to their own US weapons manufacturers so that they can build new stuff to replace the old stuff they are donating to war.
Every country does this. But only Americans attach insane numbers to it because, you know... Its only printed money so who cares. And the money will directly benefit the US economy. Stock market, create jobs, make certain people very rich. But this is not US tax payers money being shipped off to war. -Which is the story most people believe.

These numerical values are WILDLY misleading. The recent 65 billion dollar package... Was mostly for missile trucks that were built for the Iraq war in 1991 and ended service in 2007. US will give military aid which means that Ukraine will buy weapons from US companies hence US econmy will get a boost since companies will pay Corporation tax, employ more people who will pay tax and social therefore US would retain 40% of the money within the country.
