I bought the 15” M2 Air with 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD storage a year ago. It’s my first laptop after 25 years of PCs and one Mac desktop. I am a freelance writer and it’s perfect for my needs. I love it.
Literally just bought a MacBook Air M3 15inch with 16gb and 512ssd. This has replaced my 2019 MacBook Pro 16inch (16gb/1TB) as I wanted something more transportable. Happy with my choice!
15" M3 MBA owner. It is perfect for me. I've always loved the MBA form factor. For years, I've wanted a bigger display than 13" and the only option among Macs was a 15" or 16" MBP, which is way above my budget and has power and display technology I really don't need. When the 15" M2 MBA came out, I'd purchased a 13" M2 MBA and felt it too soon to upgrade. When the M3 MBA's came out, I was ready. I use it a lot and every day I appreciate the gorgeous, large display. To me, the 15" is the perfect size, and the 13" is more of a travel laptop. (I can't afford both but maybe someday....) I also prefer Starlight, but wouldn't push Starlight as hard as Mr. Ellis does in this video. Color choice is very subjective. I know folks who picked Midnight and love it, and others who went for old-school silver and love it, they feel it takes them back to their first macbook airs or pros. Thank you for the video. Maybe try using your 15" MBA away from the kitchen once in a while. It works great in the study, the living room, and the coffee shop, too.
I do alot of work of laying on bed and couch, what is the comfort level when laying down and using one? How does it compare to the 13 inch macbook air for comfort when laying down
I just recently purchases a used M2 mac book air from one of those party refurb sites. Mine has 1TB of storage, 16 gigs of ram and the 10 core GPU. So far it has been a very pleasant experience. The last time I had a mac I was running El Captain on an old school dual quad core cheese grater mac pro. At the time the old cheese grater was the fastest computer I had owned to date. This may sound weird but I this M2 macbook air feels faster. My favorite feature (and the primary reason for comming back to apple computers is the lack of that nasty recall feature from microsoft.
Thanks for a video. It’s great. I am thinking about getting MacBook Air M3 16GB for music production. I’ve heard that is a good choice, but I like a lot of tracks, plugins, effects and so on. Do you think that M3 Air will be just fine for my musical needs?
I bought the 15" MBA 13 16/256 in Silver when it first launch in March, it is my favourite MacBook after the MacBook Pro Retina 13 2012 MBPR 13 was the greatest MacBook Pro before the Apple Silicon era and man MBA 15 M3 beat it Big screen but light weight, no fan noise and always cold under any circumstances, all day battery, smooth operation I couldn't think of a machine that offer all of the above within the same body
I picked up at 15”MBA M3 8/256 yesterday after watching many reviews, including yours from March. My workflow is really very basic. I’d say Chromebook level but I love MacOS and the Apple Ecosystem. I web browse, email, watch streamed TV on occasion. Don’t even really save files to the SSD. I hope the 8gb will suffice for me. I bought the Starlight and it is stunning. Best Buy had a sale and I got $250 off, making the MacBook $1,049
Yeah I bought the base model in the Midnight color and traded it. I would say anyone who wants to really use this Mac should opt for more RAM and more storage. I ended up with a M2 iPad Air and if you think MacOS is great with a M2, the M2 Air iPad and iPad OS is even more snappier.
You’ve seen the light! 8gb limits the potential of these laptops. My wife has moved from M1 Pro to 13” M3 Air, and she loves it. Got 512gb/16gb, and it’s a monster. For her workflow (office apps, Teams, Zoom, Miro ) it’s faster, lighter, and cheaper. Looks stunning in silver. She misses the hdmi port and the better screen/speakers, but she doesn’t want to go back. It’s used with an external screen most of the time, or on trains/planes, so portability is more important than screen size for her. Unfortunately most second hand Airs only have 8gb, and for me thats a pretty big issue.
I'm really confused about something here. Can someone explain to me why people have complained or are complaining about the M2 MacBook Air (base spec)? I have had mine six months going on seven and the only issue I had was trying to play a graphics-intensive game from Steam that frankly I don't think I should have tried running. Isn't the base spec MacBook Air target audience for people who only want to do basic tasks? Admin, email, video watching, etc.... It's not going for those who want to do video editing/photo editing. I've seen people that say, and I think you have too Mark said that you started only using it for admin tasks then wanted to do more. Is that really the problem?
Great video. right now for a couple of years now i am using the 14 inch macbook pro with the m1 pro chip. it does all i need it for. but i been looking at the new macbook air's and i will upgrade to a m4-m6 15 inch macbook air maxed out as my main machine (still use a 2020 gaming pc that's slowly retiring as i am sick of using windows). thanks for the video! ^w^
Funny you should mention Apple Care. I'm on my third 2nd generation iPad Pro. I didn't think I would need Apple Care, but am glad that I got it. Even if I meant to renew it on my MBA (accidentally didn't!) and have it on my iPad Pro for a long time instead.
Those complaining of Apple’s Midnight colour being a fingerprint magnet should also check out various Windows laptops using very deep blue tones-they’re also fingerprint magnets.
Hi. Great video let me say first and second I have a question. I came across an M1 Pro but ex display. It doesn’t come in original box but original accessories. Is it worth it? It’s eBay seller from London and has impressive reviews from 2014 onwards. Thanks
Apples transiton to ARM based M-series chip is revolutionary and doesn't matter which version those chips we have as they all are equally good and its not a good news for apple as there isn't much room for improvements in their new versions other than increasing transistor counts which will have say maybe 10-20% faster than the previous version in certain task which otherwise would anyway be negligible in our everyday use so we as customers could keep using these devices for a long period without needing to worry about it getting outdated by any means in the near future!!!!
Hi Mark, I've just ordered the 16 inch MacBook Pro with 1TB storage & 18GB of unified memory. I will mainly be using it for Logic Pro & don't do any video/photo editing. Have I made the right choice? Terrified that I haven't!
@geraxho Thanks mate, I've got the MacBook M1 Air, but the size of the screen puts a strain on my eyes and although the 15" would be a big improvement, I wanted the biggest screen possible. I also plan to be doing a lot of music recording on it. But, thanks for your thoughts.
Clearly you haven't been burned by apple. I have. A few times, and i didn't have applecare. really sucks to be told your motherboard needs to be replaced and it's almost the cost of a new laptop.
Hands-up if you're in the 15-inch MacBook Air gang! Why did you pick this model?
15inch 16gb 1T - £1459 Apple Store Refurbished (like new) in silver, very happy so far :-)
M2
I’ve had the 15-inch M2 16gb for almost a year. Best laptop I’ve ever owned.
I came here for validation, I've already ordered one
I bought the 15” M3 16GB/512 SSD in Silver when it came out in March.Absolutely love it and it will do me for a good few years now.
Same here
I’m debating between the silver and the starlight🤦♂️

Brother put ASMR in your tags I promise you're leaving money on the table
the Pro 14 is too small, Pro 16 is too Big, so iam in love with the Air 15

You could of did good with a MacBook Air 13 inch even the m1 version
@@missv7689I wanted the 15” screen

HEY kislux !! I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day
I think that the Air M3 is going to be my upgrade. I currently have the i3 so I am a bit excited!

I am using a space gray M1 MBA and when I got it put some plastic cover on it and never see fingerprints. :)
I’m literally gonna make babies wid the 15’ version of the M4 MacBook Air!🤓

Wait why is the M1 Air your favorite? Like the ones you can now get at Walmart (I guess Tesco over there)?
I bought the Tech 21 eccowave case for my MacBook Air 15 and it is the worth the money.
I have no regrets on buying the 15 inch M3 Air, especially since it wasn't two grand or more. And I was always skeptical of a fanless laptop.
@@MuscularMan008 I don’t know. I’m not an expert

If the thing had Face ID and a OLED screen it would be the perfect laptop really.

I have owned dozens of Apple products and I have never needed Apple Care.
interesting conclusions. just bought one 15’ 256/8 during Amazon Prime days for 975 EUR. For my son, for next 3- 4 years/High School should be enough.

Good choice but in my opinion, the MacBook Air would have been enough for audio production. Just my opinion though.
Good but you are creeping up to MacBook Pro money
