Failed Acolyte Petition Proves Star Wars Fans Right Again

- In this video, I dive into Disney's decision to cancel The Acolyte and the fan petition that’s trying (and failing) to bring it back. With just 72,000 signatures, can a vocal minority really save a show that left most Star Wars fans indifferent? I break down the numbers, compare it to other failed TV petitions (hello, Bridgerton and My Lady Jane), and rant about why Hollywood’s obsession with appealing to everyone is killing our favorite franchises. Expect hot takes, some well-deserved insults, and a deep dive into why The Acolyte deserves its spot in the galactic dumpster.
Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and hit that bell if you want more brutally honest reactions!

Those 72k fans never actually watched the skywalker saga 😭
Id be surprised if half of them even watched the show
I am sure most of them did not even see The Acolyte
That's not true. I signed it, so did Nerdrotic. I want my favorite content creators to still eat. Might even start my own channel
Hell I want them to have an even bigger budget. Spare no expense
They probably just want the propaganda to continue and didn't even watch this show either.
Well said!!
I didn't bother watching it but seeing how everyone involved in it has behaved makes me want to see it fail! Calling the fans racist and misogynistic is just pathetic and childish!
Well, some fans are indeed like that, but you have a valid point.
@@AlexandreSardeiro You get a large enough group of people and you'll find some buttholes. And Star Wars fans are a very large group.
But those problem fans are nowhere near enough to tank an otherwise good show by themselves.
@@patbracken I was just bringing that up. Don't worry, I'm not blaming the fans for The Acolyte failure.
(But they really are hating way too much on The Acolyte. Like, one thing is not liking it. Another completelly different thing is complaining about it every single chance they get. Again, not blaming The Acolyte flop on the fans but they are exagerating on the hate)
Appropriating the name Star Wars, and applying it to a completely unrelated woke gay soap opera, is the real problem.
Only gay couple to show up in The Acolyte was Aniseya and Mother Kohril. And they are witches who are known to be an all female clan who see men as nothing else than sl4ves. It would be incoherent to the lore if they were a straight couple because the witches despise men. So don't bring the "woke gay" thing up, please. Complain about anything else but that one lesbian couple was lore accurate.
"woke gay soap opera" Exactly what it is.
They probably just want the propaganda to continue and didn't even watch this show.
I actually hope it can get as many seasons as possible, only for Disney to humiliate themselves with 0 viewership over and over again. Also, the show is very good at making people unsubscribe Disney Plus. A win-win situation for both sides, except for Woke Disney.
It's a show written by left wing middle class trust fund activists for left wing middle class trust fund activists.
wtf? You are a weirdo
Yoda cancels the Acolyte was more popular than the series it mocked
George probably is just as responsible for this. He deicided to support Iger and to screw with Peltz's overtaking of the company as "it would lack magic"... suuuuuuuure.
But yeah, this is prettymuch what the guy asked for.
George Lucas is his own worst enemy
$180,000,000/72,000 = $2500 per person. Do more than sign a petition, put up the cheddar cheese.
"It's not just Disney. Hollywood has been on this insane quest to make every single show appeal to everyone"
What's funny is that Bill Cosby once said, "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."
I'm sure 90% of those petition signatures are about as real as a Flying Monkeys attacking Mars.
Dumped like the 1st sight of an Imperial Cruiser, Literally "Star Dust", Sightfully Dreadful a Comical rendition unworthy the name Star Wars within its Title, Unoriginal Rehashed diobolical vocalised trollop. An undescribable Hell so devoid of thought & vision that it never s have eyes laid upon it. In order to witness such a diatribe of miscalculated blunders screaming Bad expletives, so long & so hard. One could believe it to be almost a false representation of reality gone absurdly mad.
I signed the acolyte petition just not the one your thinking of i signed the one to make it not canon
*I got a bridge on Corzon to sell you!" 😆😂🤪🤑😝🤣
Wait!?! Rain is wet??? WTF... Another great video my friend. Thank you.
Lol that Bridgertons part really hurt me
Maybe each of the 70,000 put in 10bucks they could make their own crappy show!
disney naively believed that they could achieve the phenomenal success of lucas, but without lucas, and all his ideas! well, it didn't happen, my friends! 😅
I liked what the Acolyte tried to do. But the execution was disastrous. The writing, dialogue, and execution was terrible. I rewatched Andor a few days ago. Loved it. It was dark. The villains were formidable. The story was engaging. The visuals were Star Wars. The acolyte was a mess. It had one fight scene I’d rank a 7 or 8/10. But there isn’t a single thing I’d rewatch. The fact is, EVERY FILM OR SHOW THAT HAS COME OUT AND GAINED THE HIGHEST REVIEWS AND PRAISE ARE THE DARKER PROJECTS:
-original trilogy (particularly Empire)
- revenge of the sith
- rogue 1
- andor
- Fallen order or survivor!
The ones who failed or are highly controversial are the light-hearted “fun” projects that don’t stay true to the tone set by the original trilogy.
The tone of the original trilogy wasn't dark at all. It was a "fun" Project. Star Wars TV shows only got darker recently.
@@AlexandreSardeiroDepends on your age. I am
Old enough to know that Han shot first.
E4: Vader strangles rebel, Luke’s parents were burned alive, Obi-Wan cut a guy in half, Han shot first, trash compactor nearly kills heroes, Vader strangles and nearly kills colleague, Death Star destroys whole planet, storm troopers shot and killed, Vader menacing, space battles killed rebels.
E5: Vader menacing, Luke decapitates Vader in dream, Vader vs Luke fight is scary, Vader cuts Luke’s hand off, Han shoots at Vader but deflects blasts, freezes Han in carbonite, Luke learns that to win he must kill his father
E6: Luke chokes piggies, Leia chokes Jaba to death, Boba is eaten by Sarlac , Ewok Teddies are a joke and everything involving them is a joke, Vader and Luke battle-It’s intense, emperor tells Luke to watch his friends die, Emperor nearly kills Luke, Vader throws emperor over rails and he explodes until Ruin Johnson beings him back.
I’m sorry, but I saw a very different set of movies than you. Nothing about them was fun or light.
@@anonymoose2685 What about the literal Teddy Bears? Weren't they funny or light as well? Or the comic relief known as the droids that aren't the ones you're looking for?
@@AlexandreSardeiro cherry-picking 2 points, one of which I already said, doesn’t discredit or
Take away from anything I said. At the end of the day, If you don’t agree, It’s my opinion. So good day sir 🫡
@@anonymoose2685 Sorry. I just meant that nowadays Star Wars is way darker than the originals.
i would have been fine with them getting another series ..... the first series made me laugh so hard and the mocking content by creators was awesome. disney spending another 200m and flushing it down the toilet would have been just the cream on top.
Tbf, if you see someone crapping unabandondly, you would want to unsee it and run away from it promptly. Disney should have thought that it would cause a massive divide of the fanbase, and that it would unite the Star Wars in rejecting it completely ironically.
More like brigde on Alderaan.
Disney/Lucas film who are all onboard with this woke true believer nonsense have all the streaming numbers and even they said no to a renewal. This is show cost 180 million with the purpose of bumping up streaming numbers. It must not have moved the needle and maybe even lost them subscribers.
I think that the "true" Star Wars fans (whatever that means) should learn what Lucas wanted to teach us in the Prequels, and just accept the loss, that Star Wars are a thing of the past, a memory, and let go of it instead of turning to the dark side, hating and attacking everyone who likes the Disney Star Wars :-)
I read old Star Wars books, I play old Star Wars games, I watch the six movies, and just out of curiosity, I sometimes watch Disney products, but I do not get angry. I just laugh.
You sir are a true Jedi
There are a lot of Disney Star Wars shows that I like. Some of them are loved by the majority of Star Wars fans. Yet, somehow, people complain that Disney never do anything right because they focus on the bad shows and completelly forget about the good ones.
You had the biggest most expansive piece of media in cinematic history. How the fuck do you fail at captivating an already well established audience.
