Why is it intelligent, engrossing sci-fi series' like this get cancelled after a single season but juvenile tripe like "Mutant X" or "Andromeda" get a run of multiple seasons?
Sat here for 2 days watching this series ( Good job i'm retired ) never even heard of it before, But what a Brilliant series. Thank you for the Up-Load.
Wow, this certainly helped answer a lot of questions in the series. It was also a very solemn critique of humanity itself. I'm sad that this was the last episode in the series, but it came to a pretty satisfying conclusion, even if some things were left unanswered.
"On that level, I am no more... moral than the microwave you use at home. Hell of a lot smarter, yes! More moral... no." 22 years later, still one of my favorite lines of all time.
I think this was my third time around. As much as it is disappointing that we only get the one season, it actually does end well. As always, love is the answer. Thank you, Guy Mayhew, for uploading this. I had most of the episodes on VHS recorded off the TV when it first aired. The DVDs are available now for $50; I'm going to buy them; this is one of my favorite shows of all time.
Same mate, I watched this on Joost in 2 days, absolutely loved it so I decided to create a dedicated TH-cam profile and upload the whole series (as at the time you couldn't get the whole series on DVD, now you can in Canada) :)
This was one of the best sci-fi series I have ever seen. I was so engrossed that I saw all the episodes in merely two or three days! I was actually sad to see there was no 23 in related videos list! lol. The Alpha-Android was the real star though. David is a good detective, but a rather bad shot, and he definitely can't fight! lol. Thanks for the upload! Enjoyed it thoroughly :)
It's Hard To Understand Why The More Intelligent And Thought Provoking Series Always Get Cancelled While The Idiotic Stupidity Just Goes On And On And Continues To Grow Shrinking The Brain Matter Of Society.
Solving a maze to find food is different from falling in love or remembering a sunrise with prickles of broken seashells against your palms. I've seen similar "mice brain" studies showing (intentionally) brain-damaged mice can still solve a maze, which suggests the brain isn't where memories are stored. Also I've heard heart transplant recipients have specific personal memories from donors. The brain is just another gear in the machine, critical to function but not the driving force.
Hi and many thanks for uploading this great series as really well made sci-fi entertainment. On a diff level, I observed major issues in the storylines right to the end which serve to push the transhumanism agenda which is not so good for humanity as eventually man will lose his sole and free will if our human aspects are replaced by machine or even animal components. Definitely food for thought. Cheers for now.
"A awesome series but frankly in all episodes we never ever have been to Mars or I found a connection to the original "Total Recall" apart from those silly memory machienes. If the "Tyrrel Corporation would have been implementet as sinister firm it would have been a perfect "Bladerunner 2070". A shame no one had thought about that. Anyway it was a great ride watching this nice series."
Actually, work led by Theodore Berger at the University of Southern Carolina has resulted in the successful implantation of chips into mice brains that allow for memories to be stored longer, as well as store memories at all if the specific area of the mice brain is shut down. TH-cam letter-limits keep me from giving all the info, but look it up, it's pretty interesting.
Do Androids Dream of Electronic Sheep! What makes you human is your memories and how you act around things. Or as Angels differ from Humans, Humans have free will (to do bad/good things)
But remember kids, machine "consciousness" is not even remotely possible. Scientists don't even know why, how or where HUMAN memories are stored--they will never know conclusively either. To believe machines will ever wake up and smell the coffee is to completely undervalue your existence. I think this would be more interesting if "The Maker" was just an extremely old person inhabiting a "vat" (read William Gibson) operating Farve-bot by remote control--a sort of walking, talking periscope.
It's an important issue. There are people out there who really think they are essentially robots, a series of survival subroutines. And they're miserable. Science fiction movies like this are fun but don't let the ideas ruin your life. That's why I care.
Why? Because it suits the needs of the people who want to control (own) everything. The one with all the wealth and power in the world wins. That's the name of the game being played. BTW good question.
Son of a B**ch!! Just watched the ending. Why'd they have to end the series with such a cliff hanger? If this were a season finally, I'd say it's one of the better ones I've seen in a while. Since it's a series finally, it was absolutely horrible because now I have questions I'll never know the answers to.
I like your comment. It's because there is nothing like home for the mind of the middle person. These uthopias are, when no completely alien, totally uncomfortable. There is nothing like the known, let them inhabit the loved land of the same old boring construction they call home. Me, I love to be told stories.
If you want to explore this theme more, watch the ongoing UK series "Humans" (2015), set in present day. Interesting even if I don't think androids, or synthetics, are equal to humans.
Although I've never watched "Humans", just reading the plot summaries, I can tell it's cultural marxist propaganda. These people don't bother being subtle anymore.
This is such an old world view. True with our current tech it isn't possible but in the future it will be. It's nearly certain that in the 2040s-2050s, AI will become conscious. Look into the work of Ray Kurzweil, Hugo De Garis, Ben goertzel, Kevin Warwick (all those people are either doctors or professors) "they will never know conclusively either" You have no references for that and you're just talking out of your ass now.
Max Headroom, you're the one with the old view. AI research was cool back in the 80s, before people realized it was a joke. If you really believe that, you must live a sad, uninspired life with no clue how software really works. You are the one with the wild-eyed fantasy. The burden is on you to prove this childish fantasy is remotely possible, to think one day your dolls will wake up and care what you think. I think you need a vacation, go write a poem or something, stop and smell the roses!
Having just watched this final episode, I feel very sad that such a brilliant show was cancelled. I thought everything about it was excellent.
Prophetic?!! "Before the calamaties of 2020, this facility was built to monitor marine life in this region."

This was certainly and ending to a season that was hoping for more, but didn't get.

Like ghost in Shell of 1995.

22:11 #2020 gets mentioned Gasp*

Plopping a turd in a kids' paddling pool would get peoples attention, but still doesn't make it a significant statement

It Got Your Attention hahaha
Blade Runner collided with Total Recall.....
Good to bad we don't know why it was cancelled
You call me childish as you basically cry in a man baby rage.

holy homoerotic overtones, Batman!

Nope. 17 hours. lol
Talking of intelligence, why do all your words start with capital letters?

it was cancelled because of the awful dialogue
This was so awesome I wish they had made season 2
