This was just what I needed to know how to do. I had a soccer ball and lettering that I wanted to overlap but could not figure out how to remove the stitches. Thank you this worked great and I've bookmarked this so if I need a refresher on how to do next time.

How much overlap do you have on the "merged" files? I had that issue when I opened the first design then merged the second. When I started with a "new"
file and "merged" both files I had better results - not PES though

Wow! What an awesome feature for the remove hidden stitches, particularly with the applique. I have a question: if you have a two color twill and you "kiss cut" the design (meaning the two applique colors are placed on top of each other for one sew file). How do I create a "kiss cut" applique file, or is that something just for commercial machines? Thanks!

  • @Barb515

Thank you for this video! I still must be missing something because I do not understand what adding the letter has anything to do with the hidden sts of the first 2 steps as it doesn't cover any of the design. ie, I would think you would have to do this (tell the program the applique functions ) with the design as it was brought in. If I did not add the letter, wouldn't I still have to assign the applique functions in this design ?

Remove hidden stitches doesn’t apply to patches made with thread fill as they need to be free standing. Choose a different type of patch style if you didn’t like the result.

I have a question: I’ve tried MULTIPLE times to save the file I designed so that it removes the hidden stitches - I even checked the “Remove overlaps when saving stitch files” box in the Jumps / Overlays section of the PROGRAM PREFERENCES menu. Nothing seems to work. After watching this, it seems like all she does is scoot the merged images together to overlap, then chooses to save. So my question is this: does the RHS function not work when you design your own image from merging several other images and adding text? I’m using the palm tree & water from one image, the sun from another, the petal from a flower on another image, copied and pasted to make it look like a line of sand, and then I used separate lettering for words. That’s a big hodge podge of images thrown together, so maybe the RHS feature can’t read or something? I also tried grouping everything, and clicking the scissor icon to remove the hidden stitches that way. But it’s still not working. Any tips would be appreciated ❤️
