Great outcome Nobby well done. Just a small bit of advice before doing another milling video. PLEASE put a bit of oil on your cross feed hand wheel handle to get rid of the annoying squeak 😁 I could hear it above the cutter noise. Bit of technical advice, DO NOT let the stop get wet. You have used plain brass screws in Aluminium, if it gets wet you will get an electrolytic action between the brass and aluminium and the screws could seize up. Regards from Australia.
Thanks for the very useful advice David. Sorry about the squeaky handle. Will address that ASAP. I'll make sure not to get the lathe stop wet. I'm not going to leave it on the lathe when not in use. When you're feeding the carriage under power the practice is to release the half nut before you reach the carriage stop and complete the cut by hand. This way there's no danger of a crash.
