Few supercars have become as mainstream as the R8, thanks to Marvel and the rest of hollywood.
Its still an awesome car
I mean the reason hollywood loves it is because its ssuccessfull in motorsports competition too.
This car is synonymous with Le Mans due to how it dominated Endurance Races and also the GT races

Marvel and the rest of Hollywood actually played a small part whereas the likes of Too Gear and video games probably led to more lasting and emotional impact

R8 is iconic in BLUR! Its the first car you see in the menu screen.
Audi R8 along with all Class A Grip Cars in BLUR including the BMW M3 GTR DTM, are equally OP.
RIP to the Audi R8, I've always loved that car and it will still be one of my favorite cars of all time.

fun fact, Audi Le Mans Quattro in NFS Carbon has production R8 rear bumper and mirrors (hybrid version) because the game was released after the Production version of Audi R8 was launched. Correct me if I'm wrong because I can't remember that I took this info from other youtube video that I forgot.

The automotive world just lost one of it's best sounding cars.
The first generation Audi R8 was one of the best looking and best sounding cars of the 2000s and the R8 along with the Audi Quattro of the 80s are the 2 most iconic Audi road cars ever made. A 1st gen V10 R8 with a gated manual gearbox is a dream car for many. Every time I think of an R8 I'll always picture Darius's R8 from NFS Carbon or the futuristic RSQ from the I, Robot movie starring Will Smith or Tony Stark's R8 from the first Iron Man movie.
I wish Audi would have made a special version of the R8 powered by the turbocharged 5 cylinder engine from the RS3 as a final send-off for both the R8 and the 5 cylinder Audi engine. Would have been a great end to them both.

What I would have liked is an Audi R8 all wheel drive model with the turbocharged 5 cylinder engine from the TT RS in place of the V10 similar to the Group S prototype Audi that never got to race along with maybe a rear wheel drive version as well that would have basically been Audi's bigger and more expensive version of the Toyota MR2.

Such an amazing automotive masterpiece. Always wanted to drive this one IRL, loved picking it up in every racing game it was in as it was a fun and competitive car. My favourite versions of it were in NFS, Forza and Grid, the LMS variant gave me a lot of wins in online races. The sounds in PGR's version are fantastic as well.
Do the next best thing and drive on PSVR2 an amazing experience that will change your gaming life.

Yep. Lucky i defeated the final boss car in NFS CARBON using Razor's 2006 BMW M3 GTR and i beaten him in the canyon on its FIRST TRY.
Fun fact: actually in TDU2 there's another R8 which was the V8 model, named as the 'R8 quattro R-Tronic'. You got to drive that car in a side mission, otherwise it's unplayable by default.
