Hey guys. Thanks for all your love. I see some of you pointing out that i have misunderstood the capital of Assam to be Guwahati. I generally never explain a joke. But, here's the thing. The line is: "I went to Assam, Capital of Guwahati..." It is like saying India is the capital of Delhi. Not knowing that a state is part of a city or a city part of a state is the JOKE.
At no point in this entire set do i say: Guwahati is the capital of Assam. That is not the joke at all. Hope this clarifies.

I live in Delhi and study in Delhi university..and don't know that these people exist in Delhi who don't even know seven sisters... I have many northeastern friends in college but no one never discriminate anyone in college...

Ok so I met a girl from Uttarakhand a few days back and told her that I'm from Assam. She replied that she was in Assam for 8 years as her father is in army. I was like really and asked her which District she was in. She replied that she was in Nagaland. I had no words to say and felt really bad about how some people don't even know the states of their own country properly. That's really very sad.

My house owner used to poke me everytime, he use to tell me bhai, I hv hrd that in northeast people eat everything....and I reply him yes we even eat human, from that day never visited my room...he use to send his wife to collect my house rent. :)

I have been in Delhi almost 4 years now once my uber driver asked me do you know Jakie chan? I said not personally but yes he is an actor I said why then he said no u guys are look semiliar then I replied may be coz we all Asian dats why. Then later he ask me again where are u from? I said Nagaland! He said where is it ? I replied its between China and Japan .he was like ohhh ..its quite annoying and sad the fact that mainland Indian people doesn't know there own states or country. sometime I says go through India map. Other day my friend and I went to theater to watched Goalmall again ! The counter was a lady she was saying to her friends that these Chinese people they don't even understand Hindi and what they are doing here!! I was like here we go again dude. Then later when we got our ticket I told to counter, hey Bahenji we are not Chinese we are Indian too and we do speak Hindi don't worry about that. I speak her with Hindi and her reaction was priceless! Then I said go through India map and all the States of India ,before u got your chair sit .then I left I was rude or she was rude I don't know. Thug life !

I have stayed in northeast for more than 3 years and I am not going to leave this paradise of true friends, true love and true life. Love u northeast. 💗💗💗
I'm from IMPHAL, capital of Manipur and I am a proud Indian. I studied in Dehradun from class v to x. And pass out secondary from Chennai. What I want to mention here is I know the north indian culture n history to some extent very thoroughly n for south indian too. I have many friends from Chandigarh, Dehradun,nanital, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Jaipur, Shimla, Lucknow, Delhi etc and l met many people in Maharashtra during my engineering days. Despite having all such experiences I still feel we are neglected by main land indian. WHY..... Is it because of our out look, colour, language.. very honestly I feel excited when Sachin Tendulkar n Virat Kohli hit sixes and fours. Moreover I feel goosebumps when our national anthem being sung. So what are the differences among us. Why so many discriminate n stigma.....
Coz most of our people are poorly educated, education systsm is outdated and people are ignorant and mannerless. I want them to improve though.

I think the North eastern Indians are the coolest Indians... I don’t care what people think or say, but the attitude north easterners have towards the nature and people really impressed me. Their ideology is just like the first world citizens. Shame that we discriminate against them. But again, people in India will never stop discrimination against each other, coz thats how we’re raised.

This is a country where racists live. Majority of indians are dark skinned but in movies they are shown white with the magic of makeup and editing. Those actors who are very black are shown as villains, bad guys and jokers in their movies. This is the country if they make movie on Bruce Lee they will feature akshay kumar as Bruce Lee.Indian society is biased and racist. Mary Kom movie is an example. Mary kom is a mongolian boxing legend but she is shown as Aryan in movie. Can you believe it guys???? If such movie was made in hollywood the director would have shot himself, the actress would have jumped off the terrace, the producer would have taken sleeping pills to kill himself and the audience would have died of laughing. What a racist society!!!!
Manipuri and Chinese language is very different.
When i was in Manipur, I'm INDIAN, but when I came to Delhi I became FOREIGNER.

Lol.. am doctor done my masters from Meghalaya, in counselling i saw shillong , i was confused where is this piece of land in my country, i asked a UP girl sitting beside me about shillong, she said she never heard about shillong but it’s definitely in india ... i just googled it and finally completed my medical pg from shillong, after 3 yrs I felt like , no i cant leave northeast..but i have to leave it anyway for family... even now i feel northeast is far better than any state in india...by the way am from Hyderabad

Her double gold at Asian games, her record at world championship, Village Rockstar-the first Assamese film to enter Oscar, Asil Hussain-the first Assamese actor for Oscar in a foreign film, Ranjan Gogoi-the first Assamese Chief Justice of India, Hridoy hazarika - first Assamese to win Gold at world shooting championships 10m rifle category,all in this month of September, is worth a lot of credit. Ignorance, making fun of the north easterners.. These things have given India a unique position in world football also...so quite understandably these ignorant attitude isn't leading you anywhere strong

I loved this one! I am from Manipur and recently I have come to Mumbai after finishing my 12th for my graduation. Here people ask me where I am from and I said Manipur. People whenever say anything about me they are like hey you are from assam, hey your language is like Chinese. Even my friends call me chini which I really hate. People should stop discriminating and accept that northeast is also a part of India.
It's actually funny that we go out of state to get "BETTER EDUCATION" where we have to explain where we're from.

Northestern, no need to go outside the northest to face the racism... come to our Assam... and Delhi wala feel le lo... since, Asomiya is a mixed race community (having General, obc, SC and ST castes).. so they call other Northestern Chinese.. Infct, Asomiya community itself who are belonging to ST caste face the same little bit... Though they r not called as Chinese, but they face some untouchability things... this is the worst thing and the consequences are very dangerous ...

To all my north east friends, i know you are neglected by govt. and mainland people but there are still people in mainland who knows you and respect you and love you. And the govt. is ignorant of all states. This isn't just you. India is a diverse country that's why all of these things happen. A bihari is stereotyped uneducated. A UP resident is considered criminal and so much. But still we are united.
In the south they all think all NE people know karate and somehow know Jackie Chan personally. In my experience Kolkata is the only large Indian city where people don't ask you silly or racial questions. They may get confused about capitals of NE states, but all have a fair idea that we are thriving, aspiring, young Indians.

Salute from arunachal. I too wonder whether basic gk about our country or northeastern states are taught or not in other parts of schools in our country.
It is taught , but people end up remembering those places that they've either visited or heard alot about in TV.
Jabye buddhe log politics se hatenge ..them our young generation should bring the change.

Uhm we ARE taught about that in our schools lol. And we DO know a lot about the Northeast. But just because the Northeast is not as much in news as the rest of the country, we find it a little difficult to remember the capitals of the states and end up mixing them. But i recently had a trip to Northeast and lived it so much ! AND ARUNACHAL OHMYGOD Y'ALL ARE LIVING IN HEAVEN!!!
