Hey Pete!- I appreciate Suhr 's generosity in being ok with you demoing amps for Guitar World. Guitar World should giveaway a Suhr PT fifteen in a sweepstakes as a thank you to Suhr- or just give to me...lol. Great demo, but I am still extremely pleased with the original PT100 from Custom Audio- one of the finest and versatile 3 channel amps ever built. Many newer amps share very similar PT100 control layout (Red SEven, Mezzabarba Trinity, Friedman SS100v2, etc) -which is no coincidence in my book. When the Steve Stevens Friedman Version 2 comes out, I would love you to demo it (trading licks with Steve Stevens, of course) . Suhr cannot make a bad amp.
The tone is just mind blowing. Great stuff from Italy, it looks like they know how to make great sounding amps.
Yep, Brunetti is another incredible Italian amp maker.
along with Mezzabarba the Italians are on a roll of hit amps.

Great vid as always Pete! Really 'wow-ed" by this amp, seems they've really managed to nail the more versatile tube amps that started appearing around 30 odd years or so ago I guess but without sacrificing the 'character' that that type of amp has always seemed to lack. Great tones!

Holy versatile amp, Batman! Way to show it off, Pete. Loved the lick and composition. Interesting to me was that I didn't always love every "sound" the that the amp made in your solo'd sections and yet, they really sounded great in the mix. Goes to show what a pro knows about getting a tone that cuts through the mix and enhances the song. Really cool.

I don't care for a Plexi as a main rig, but having the option of that tone when you need it sure is nice.
That said, I loved the clean channel and the ability to pretty much cover any era of music... If you have the talent to do it.
Guitar World did good by merely asking if you could do an amp demo and I'm glad that you could do it!
Your phrasing is always interesting and coming off the E string with those 8th notes 5:19 for 2 seconds... That little, but huge part is perfect!
Man, all of your songs are really really good...but then some of them transcend that and are simply amazing! This would be one of the latter...would love to hear it fully fleshed out!

Hey Pete, nice amp demo. Which channel setting did you seem to lean towards, in your own preference?
Well I’m always kind of a plexi guy. So the channel 2. If I had to have one tone, it would be mid gain Marshall style
Formerly "Shiva Audio"...they make one of the best stereo tri-chorus units in the world.
I have the mono pedal version, but someday I'll grab one of their rack units.
Love my RedSeven! Highly recommended.
Sounds really good, the Plexi tone is there. If I didn’t know the difference I’d assume you were playing through your PT100. Although, You’re going to sound like you through anything you play through. Nice amp tone for sure, nicely done. 🤘
I would say that this amp leans ever so slightly more in the Bogner direction Compared to my PT 100. It’s a bit more lows and low mids.

I used to have a plexi, I don't listen any plexi sound here tbh...
@@Valerio_VDF It's similar on ch 2, but like I said, deeper, there's more bass/lodw mids. I was going back and forth with my (basically 68 spec) 72 JMP and Suhr SL68.

All of a sudden we have Mezzabarba, Red Seven, Frog Amps, Masotti, Brunetti, etc hitting the US from Italy. This is crazy. . This demo sounded similar to Mezzabarba clips I've heard . Anyone in the know, that can compare those?

@@alteroccatv Frog makes badass amps, very high quality power cables as well. Not cheap, but if you're into good old hard rock it's definitely a brand worth considering

This is not a fair review in that Pete Thorn could play a Hello Kitty Walmart guitar plugged into a battery powered Amazon amp and it would still sound amazing. He's a beast

Can amp makers make the colors other than black..stock not special orders...who the heck wants to wait 6 months for other colors(diezel cheesy front desiyn..mezzas...freytte..krs...et all)...so dull and boring....there are hundreds of tolex colors..life too short to be staring at boring dull black...
