- All 200 countries have to escape the zombie mummies through the pyramids of Egypt, if they don't outrun them they'll be turned into mummies too.

I feel that the zombies were faster than the normal marbles cause they could easily catch up and turn the normal ones into zombies.

I don't think it's that they were faster, but rather the zombies had a massive advantage
whenever a marble runs into another marble, it's practically a death sentence because you soon gain one zombie and one sped up marble
whenever a zombie runs into another zombie, you get one sped up zombie and one zombie that will soon get sped up by the ones behind
and when a zombie runs into a marble, you get one sped up zombie and one zombie that will soon get sped up by the ones behind it
Or, in other words, whenever there's a collision, zombies benefit because now you've got a faster-moving zombie. Doesn't matter who collides who.
