I'm so impressed to see Leroy Smast in interview. Also surprised that "Mother Liza" was his first record! Such an expressive voice.

The Surname "Smart" has never been too much of a popular name back in the day (60's and 70's) when l was growing up....l always wondered if you and I are related somehow!? Now that you confirm that this was your given names by your parents we most likely are related! Nevertheless growing up you were one of my favorite singer and dancer and "Mother Lisa" was my favorite song! Was in Grade 8 when you hit the charts with that one! You are the orginal Don! Still have that "classic voice"! Keep singing!
I have an uncle by this said name he and Leroy are brothers but he doesn't acknowledge family or relatives.

One l know of "Glenford Smart" went to Yallahs High School, now reside in Toronto 🇨🇦...yep l think we do have a family connection! Just need a good "historian" to help make the connections. My Grandfather was born in Cuba and came to Jamaica back in 1920's, but as far as l know only lived in "Wilmington" up in the hills from Morant Bay which is where I was born! My father was "Recardo Smart" (died in 2021). Unfortunately that's all l know about his side of "Smarts"...but l am pretty sure that all "Smarts" in Jamaica are related from what l can put together...and we start out from Cuba 🇨🇺
