Output from each Machine is flung on the floor, then picked up manually and conveyed to next machinery. How much effort does it take, to divert the machinery's Output to a sack or bin? Should save some amount of labour, apart from reduction of dust and impurities from the filthy floor.
This is impressive... wearing 'safety flip-flops' and 'fire resistente pyjama's' while they seem to do everything on the floor. Haven't they invented or even thought about working friendly back saving 'tables'...?
People don’t take care of their eyes and over time they will lose their sight! safety precautions are not observed if the owners themselves do not spare the workers!
As an Insurance Risk Engineer, have spent a lifetime trying to correct these stupidities in South India. Owners remain impassive, Bankers are not bothered, and you get mobbed by the workers themselves worried about losing their jobs. Arguing for the Worker's safety nowadays starts with getting police protection from Worker's ire. But things are improving, atleast in South India, since increasing prosperity brings Worker's medical expenses out in stark contrast, and the employer finds it economical to enforce safety measures, rather than pay for medical expenses later. Feel issue is more with lowest levels of expectations at each level, and the economics of the trade. Just look at how much work, expenses are involved, cost of the final product the owner is trying to sell. Margins must be meagre, and when the ecosystem, incl Govt Officials, Society, Workers themselves support you, would you stop yourself from saving that extra buck.
The machine welds two pieces of metal togather. Very old technology but solid as to function. Two pieces of copper short circuited. generate enough heat to fuse the metals togather.
How can those guys sit like that for so long? OUCH! Primitive work done in an environment that is unsafe but they do really good work. An underdeveloped country can recycle plastic bags but America can't? It doesn;t make sense.
After watching several hours of these videos I have a few observations. While I respect the hard work and the terrible working conditions that these people have to endure, there are some things that just baffle the mind. As an example, raw parts and sub assemblies are just thrown on the floor for someone else to pick up and move to the next process. There's no thought given to how to work move material from one workstation to another in an efficient and orderly manner. Workers work from a seated position when they could probably work more efficiently at a table. Welding is done without proper eye protection, and no effort is made to clean, scale. and prep the parts. Forget about proper footwear or respiratory protection. I've never seen anyone use an assembly jig or assembly fixture to align parts to be joined to allow for better fit and precision. Lubricating and cutting fluids on lathes, drill presses, etc. seems to be rarely used. It seems to me that introducing a few basic Improvements in workflow, work practices, etc, could make a big improvement in reduced labor, better quality and tool life.
In one section they melt bags and 1 guy cuts the plastic and throws it on the floor, in the next shot there's a guy separating the blocks because they have stuck together !!....unreal.
No, they've never been this ridiculous. They were smart enough to use work benches and proper equipment. Not wallow in the filth with the feet and dogs

I'd be more concerned with buying *food.* As it seems at some point someone's bare feet are going to be on whatever it is they make. Every time.
Foundry outfit, flip flops and pyjama.
All work done on the floor, bending their back all day.

Screw the rust and just paint over it.
That's how they assure future work. Whatever they make will just fall apart in short order from the rust on the inside. They *always* include a fault.

True, but I was more horrified by the color. 🤣
