I have forever since inception REFUSED to donate. I wrote their legal department asking why they don’t donate from within their pricing structure because this appears as if it could be high risk even worse, fraud or worse. They never responded. I’ve always felt that the R2 should be subtracted from the sale so that the donation comes directly from KFC’s own profit. That’s a real donation. They are asking us for the R2 so that they don’t actually lose anything

It actually is a performance measure. I'm actually shocked that people are still donating because this other lady once told me that they are forced to get donations. So I asked out of curiosity what they do with the money and she said they do give it to orphanages but there's always money left over. So they give it to the staff as bonuses. That gave me enough reason to not give anything because KFC has a social responsibility. So, they should donate out of their profits and not use people to accomplish that. It's like how other companies give out bursaries. That is fulfill that social responsibility. That money comes from their profits and not people.
KFC should rather donate R2 for every meal purchased by customers to shift the onus of donating back to them so it's more of a genuine CSR initiative.
That is true. R2 is not lot of money but the thing is we do not get any feedback on what they did with the money like photos🤷♀
I have boycotted KFC and McDonald's. I will never give them R2 ever. I will rather give donations to GIFT OF THE GIVERS they always help in disasters and help support those who are in need. They never have campaigns asking for you to donate like KFC.
I stopped eating KFC coz of the R2 ... the quality of the food has become trash anyway. And those R2 donations spoiled my appetite. These corporations are greedy, it would cost them nothing to donate R2 from each sale, instead of of putting the pressure on the customers and staff.

IMO upper management are encouraging this behavior by giving incentives to managers who get the most donations. So managers do everything to pressurise staff. So what ends up happening when staff see they have not met target, they take that money from their own pockets. So its essentially taxing workers. Its disgusting.
We don't have enough outrage and anger for this.

I stopped donating and I don't even feel guilty about it. This whole thing, asking customers for donations is illegal, they are doing it for tax reasons. Also, where are the kids they are donating to? KFC should be reported. Also for how long must we donate?
I used to work at KFC, and this is true. To make matters worse, if there was meat that was left over it was given to the guy who collects food for pigs to give to his pigs while staff is not even allowed to take more that 2 scoops of pap and 1 piece of meat for lunch. They would literally pay the bare minimum wage to the T and the Manager and Supervisors are always on your neck for those R2s. A lot of people actually got fired due to not making profits with the AddHope R2s. And if someone met the target consistently, they would get more working hours, while those who don't get their hours cut short.
I know it's not always easy but you could have reported them to cutting edge anonymously cause you have info about that...they seriously needs to be stopped

I've always asked them that if theirs was a genuine donation why can't they subtract the R2 from their profit? If somebody donates that donation is taken from the profits received. This one of KFC is so scandalous.
Retail and enforcing employees with targets it’s the pits then you ask yourself why are they grumpy when serving us.
I've never donated to this campaign... In the field I work in, I have seen that most of these companies don't do what they say they do.
I will support the companies that address the underlying problems which lead to poverty. This thing of just buying food only addresses today's hunger, but it doesn't help with tomorrow and other days.

I saw on TV they fed the prisoners with lots of KFC that's when I stopped donating it's true that they are firing their employees bcoz of the 2rands here in Queenstown they were fired and we responded not buying to KFC they lost lots and lot if money

In my community we have add hope in our community center. I do contribute to the add hope I see the difference my R12 make a month in my community in Refilwe Cullinan

To be honest it's every retail job that does this I once went shopping and these guys approached me to open their store accounts ..I did not want to open and that guy told me that he has a target to reach . He is begging me to open it il close it some other time .
Closing the account will actually use your airtime that you paid for. I once did that to help someone and I had to Fax letters and give reasons as to why I'm canceling the insurance, like damn just cancel the darn insurance. Never again.
