i know. you were the only one who got it right, that's why i thanked you ;) you replied to the wrong comment. this one was not directed at you. youtube has a way of screwing the display of comments up
It seems like you have a better chance of an eagle/albatross/etc if the ball is high and bounces in rather than have it run across the green... Interesting... Awesome video!
I just this game and LOVE it, I only ave a problem with knowing the different clubs (not a real golfer). I doubt any faqs exist for this game...great video, though, makes me eager to get good at it!
Well done. Supreme quality and that was topped with the great commentary. It feels much more entertaining when you can understand, once and for all, what was being done in a TAS.
sure. hitting the hole from the fairway is a finicky process. to aim your swing,? you can turn your player before you get access to the power gauge. the smallest unit you can turn to either side is 1 pixel and even that was already to not hit the hole perfectly enough to sink the ball. additionally, the player i use is a real brute. his clubs only allow very rough adjustments for speed and strength and in this case all these factors added up to the game not giving me a chance to hit the hole
I actually am a longtime member of the Gamefaqs MB's, and that was the first place I looked for FAQs. Didn't see any, unless I possibly overlooked something...I'll check again. Also...how do you hit those shots that land just outside the green without misjudging and passing the hole? BIG problem for me.
you're right about gamefaqs. all i checked before recommending them was whether the game was listed, but not if it had walkthroughs for it and indeed it doesn't. just watch the in-game manual and go from there ;) as for those shots you mentioned. it's all about experience and knowing the game. for example, using the 280yd driver with following wind lets me drive around 330yd. i use the small map in the corner to measure that distance and set up my drive accordingly. the rest is luck ;)
I remember this one. Possible to get some impressive scores, but the horribly-placed trees and bunkers would make your _aura_ cry. I saw a grand total of ONE player win a tournament (on level _4_). Unforgiving as any Neo Geo game ever. I could never figure out how to do hole outs. They were easy on Top Player's Golf (absolutely the only time I will ever use the word "easy" in conjunction with that game), completely impossible for me here. Thanks for letting me know that there really is a lot of luck involved. Just like the real thing. :-)
You are an enormous fan to do such a thing. I love KOF (check my name) but NTM is probably my most favorite cartridge I have :). I love your commentary, you have a very insightful deconstruction of the game! I love how you explain the whole issue with the roughness of the game making it impossible to make a hole in a certain amount of shots. Beautiful!
@tikibird1970: Thanks for your unqualified remark. Would you know the least about tool-assisted runs then you'd know that tasing is not comparable to actually playing...
@Xiaopang3333 I wonder if you could contact the emulator's developer with the details of your crashes- as much as you can give him. Software developers often like that for info like that could help them stabilize their products. Also you could post videos of a few or even one hole of the other courses. I am not sure if anyone has videos of Japan or America on here. thanks
Anche io credo si tratti di un montaggio usando il vecchio trucco del salva e carica. Sono anni che anche io gioco a NTM e sono riuscito a fare pochissimi eagle fino ad oggi.
well, then that's not your kind of entertainment. plenty of others enjoy it. one thought though comes to mind: why do you even watch a speedrun if you don't enjoy it? even more so: why do you watch it if you know that it destroys your fun playing the game? unlike most speedruns, this is more like a computer-like gameplay which can not be imitated regardless how well trained you are, so i don' understand how someone could lose his enjoyment over watching something that's basically just a demo
You put on a clinic here- brilliant shot after brilliant shot. I am a bit surprised you did not do this with the other three courses. I would think you could tear them up with similar tactics as well in rather short times, too. I don't know if you ever tried to speed run them, though. I remember this game, I used to play it in arcades in the 90s but I was nowhere near as good as you are.
@GenericEric01: thank you. i used subtitle workshop 2.51. it's an old subtitle program that supports a plethora of text-based sub-formats. it has a video preview for timing and a nice little tool-set to make subbing comfortable. i used the srt-format since it's the easiest to handle and because it's the only one youtube supported at that time. still, you don't need a sub-app. srt is so easy you could write it in notepad if you don't mind typing in timecodes.
wow! quick comment. the video has been up for less than an hour! as for your question: yes, it would have been a lot faster. i explained that already in the subtitles ;) this video was all about gameplay. speed wasn't really that important to me, but my next runs of the game will go for max speed :)
@jay377777: I did indeed. At least I tried. When I finished this run, I immediately tried the next course, but the emulator was too unstable back then and the run went out of synch after only a few seconds. I tried it again a month ago, but the new version of the emu crashes on me on most of my machines, so it's still not stable enough. Since there's no other emu available to TAS NeoGeo games, it'll take a while till I can deal with the other courses. I'd sure love to do it now, though.
wow, the first asinine post in over 6 months which part of If you don't know what a tool-assisted speedrun is, google it before leaving stupid comments! of my video description did you not understand? apparently the tool-assisted tags evaded you as well as the re-recording count that i stated in the subs, or my explanation how i timed the shots down to the exact pixel
@jay377777: I did contact him and arrogant replies were all I received, so I refuse to support the devver. Posting vids of single holes is too much work and no fun at all. Judging by the few views this run has gotten so far, single runs wouldn't get much attention. The effort however of dealing with all the crashes and synching problems, encoding the videos, uploading and maintaining them for a handful of views is just too much a waste of my time. A full TAS is still on my checklist, though.
Ummm. how the fuck did you do this? Are you cheating here? Anyone to play this online with me send me a message and we can set a game up. I love this game!
you don't get enjoyment out of watching a perfect game of neo turf masters? you don't even understand that others do, even though i have clearly stated it several times?? man, you must be lobotomized or something...
Nice video! I had never really thought about a speed run for this game, neither did I know it would have involved so many factors. Wouldn't Hole 3 have been a bit faster if you had intentionally lost the Closest to the Pin Contest? I love this game, I can't remember how much I spent on it at the arcades.
LOL sorry, but you're an idiot. what does me making a tas having to do with me being bad at the game??? i played this game for over a decade now and wanted to see a next to perfect gameplay video and since there was none, i made one myself. how you get from that i suck at it, is beyond me and basically defies all logic. especially if you read the subs, which show that i understood the game very well. on the contrary, i doubt that you analyzed its engine so detailed the way i did.
congratulations on not getting the meaning of a speedrun. is the video-.golf community really so retarded as to not get the concept of beating a game as fast as possible?? is the circumstance that speed isn't essential when playing golf getting in the way? am i just ahead of my time or what is it with you narrow-minded people? i at least give you credit for using google, but what's that good for if you not just missed the point, but apparently also an established part of videogame entertainment
i know. you were the only one who got it right, that's why i thanked you ;)
you replied to the wrong comment. this one was not directed at you. youtube has a way of screwing the display of comments up
gracie. finally someone who got it right. thanks to you not every italian looks like he has been living under a rock for the last decade ;)
for this game to be this old I'm honestly impressed by the graphics
You know this video is old when he's got a link to a Megaupload download...
the soundtrack is so good
I know this is 11 years old but, it's nice to se a speedrun of this game that doesn't use Ron Perlman, or whatever the German guy's name is.
Neo Geo Games age like wine

totally forgot about that. the video is up now, just check the video description. thanks for reminding me
what do you mean?
This game is absolutely beautiful!
this is cool ~
How many albatross's do you see on this game?
I actually am a longtime member of the Gamefaqs MB's, and that was the first place I looked for FAQs. Didn't see any, unless I possibly overlooked something...I'll check again. Sorry, I must have skipped some text.
I was quick on commenting because I often search for the latest speed runs on TH-cam.
ON THE GWEEEN!
thanks dude :)
lol this game is pretty addictive on my gp200 lol.
It also made me hooked up with shotonline :D
wrong...if it was only that simple...can't you read subtitles??
Was it ever possible for you to make a PAR-4 Hole-in-One in this game?
At that 12th hole, for instance.
i never played the cd-version, only the arcade one
wow amazing shots,man!

Speedrun? Still came for the bitchin' background music.
@tikibird1970: Thanks for your unqualified remark. Would you know the least about tool-assisted runs then you'd know that tasing is not comparable to actually playing...
i think if anyone went -16 on the first 9 holes in real life.....peoples minds would be blown

nope. tried it through kaillera once and it sucked
the animation are amazing in this game
You are god-like at this game

this guy must not have any golfer friends left
cool vid but there's only one faq for this game @ gamefaqs and it aint that hot....too bad cause I am hooked on this game.
whats ur top on default, real play?
Same announcer for Metal Slug? I think so!
"Yeah!" That pose is jus' awesome.
I still want to see a unique hole-in-one pose though...

It's says level 8 so I guessing that level only available in the arcade version not the psp.
hmm, never heard of 2df
That's Capcom's CPS2, not NeoGeo.
wow! quick comment. the video has been up for less than an hour!

this is just..amazing....i got crazy searching for an emu for my mac..and in the end the game didn't start...:(
Great gaming, I've been glad to play BADEN birdie on every hole..but I didn't get any eagle...
4:24 An Albatross. Incredible.. Even rarer than a hole-in-one, both in this game and in real life~
On da gween
still not thinking? i guess you're the kind of guy who walks up to people at the shooting range telling them that they suck at counter strike...

:O JUEGAS MUCHO
Please select a type of your game who do you play fernando almeada Germany good luck player one tee shot fairway
well i can finish all courses on 1 credit but par -33 says there's always room to improve :]]
Why does this game reminds me of Metal Slug?
Both has been developped by Nazca.
Good ruck
That character look an awful lot like Shooter McGavin.
this game reminds me of arcade ALien vs predator. its like the same system and voices.

I always play as the technician because he looks like a nerd.
the american is the "young hero"...
does that mean he has nothing going for him? lol
A lot of luck, enormous holes and windy wheater :)
that sounds intruiging. i'll give it a try :)
Ummm. how the fuck did you do this? Are you cheating here?
Anyone to play this online with me send me a message and we can set a game up.
I love this game!
thanks. you can find tons of faqs for the game at gamefaqs com
well enlighten me then how your tactics are superior to those of a TAS...
exelent i finish this game when i have 8 years old
saludetes
Green jacket gold jacket... who gives a shit
damn typos...oh well, i guess you can make sense out of that ;)
Very well done. Especially the commentary.
There is no commentary 😅😂
JAJJAJAJAJAJA 😂😂🙁
