Very nice, thanks so much for this! I love the Terminator vibes on the injured SBD coming after him. That was one of my favorite parts about the game atmosphere; it actually made the SBDs a little scary. Regular battle droids we really just cannon fodder but if an SBD showed up, you needed heavy ordinance 'cause you were almost fighting a tank! And the RCs need as much love as possible; since Delta is in canon, maybe if we show enough love we can get more of Traviss' RC work built back into the story... Ori Kandosii!
Dude. Now if we could get an animated series like this. Bad Batch quality, but Republic Commando Delta Squad. Just detailing some of the behind the scenes operations they conducted. Now, THAT would be an awesome show. Hell, make it even carry on past Order 66. Maybe show how the Commandos decided to shield some Jedi from the Emperor. I would definitely watch that.
I did notice some very small details. While they are NOT "movie mistakes", they COULD be misunderstood as such, and might be the reason why this incredibly cool short film has dislikes. I'll try to explain, for anyone who might think that: • Delta Squad lack their additional equipment - the ammo packs on Sev, the radio antenna on Fixer's backpack, the shell containers on Scorch's backpack (2:46), etc. Clone commando armor is modular and those ARE attachments - they are removable. Maybe, for whatever reason, Delta Squad did not put this extra gear on for this mission. • The door charge Sev puts on the door just short-circuits the lock and causes it to open, while in-game, it explodes. Notice how he activates it (1:08) - there are three buttons on it. He pushes the center one, then the two on top, then he takes cover. If you play the game (or watch a walkthrough video), you'll notice Boss pushes the center button, then the two top buttons, THEN the center button again. It does a different thing because of a different activation sequence. The explanation is very simple - these charges must have multiple functions. They can blow locks up OR they can short-circuit equipment, depending on how they're activated. Thus, Sev was just using it in a way we/Boss never see it used in-game, nor is there an option to, but the device itself does have a short-circuit function, should the operator need it. • The Super Battle Droid fires a straight ( - ) plasma bolt (1:19). In-game, the projectile seems to have a solid core, and the plasma that surrounds it is shaped like a spear ( -> ). This is actually very simple - SBDs can use different types of ammo. • Sev's blaster when he switches it to sniper mode doesn't have any sights (1:37). The weapon's hologram-like scope must have an option to be turned on and off - kind of like flashlight/laser modules that are activated by pressure switches attached to the grip, on real-life handguns. There's no need for sights at this close range, and besides, Sev must be an excellent point shooter. • Sev fires twice (1:44 and 1:50) and swaps the magazine after each shot, even though the weapon is semi-automatic with a 5-round magazine. It's not bolt-action or single-shot. To be honest, this one did make me scratch my head. But considering how he downed that SBD in two shots, these magazines must be...1-rounders, but with a more powerful plasma charge. 1 shot, 1 mag, you reload after each shot, but it does more damage. While we do not see such ammunition in-game, this in no way means that it does not exist in the Star Wars universe at all. It makes perfect sense that the DC-17m ICWS (InterChangeable Weapon System) would have not just different attachments, but also different ammunition types for each mode. Hell, even real-life sniper rifles do - Full Metal Jacket, Raufoss, etc. I really love the "sweet mid-2000s authenticity" - using assets from the game itself. The ambiance is also incredible - the only soundtrack in this is the music that plays when the rest of Delta Squad show up. Before that, it's just mechanical noises of...what I assume is the ship (?) Sev and the others are in. There isn't any music to cue the mood, yet the sounds of the environment function as such, in eerie silence. It's amazing. It almost reminds me of my bittersweet disappointment when I played the game for the first time. They really could've done so much more to make the Assault Ship portion of the game more...scary. I know it's not a jump scare-ridden horror game, but come on - the first level at the ship gave me goosebumps, and then...I felt a little underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong, the missions at the Prosecutor were good, but a tad short on unease. By the time you rejoin your squad - the tone is almost entirely switched to action, not creepy suspense, with very brief moments of that - such as when Delta Squad end up at a dump site, surrounded by clone trooper corpses. This short film really makes me feel some of that wasted potential these missions had. Bravo!
Might have already needed to reload the sniper attachment too, he just had only one round left when he swapped. If he's one of those degenerates who doesn't reload every six seconds...
@@cruallassar7428 I thought about that, too. You can clearly see he reloads after the first shot. If we imagine that the mag had only one round left, after he reloads, he would have a full mag of five rounds. Then he fires a second shot, drops the SBD on the floor, then he reloads AGAIN (you can see the barrel swaying at 1:51), which would mean that he is reloading a mag that has four rounds left. Why would he do that? In video games, players tend to reload often like that, because they want their mags to be at full capacity at all times. In real life, if you do that, you'll have a bunch of loose, semi-empty mags. It's an "ammo pool" mechanic in video games that eases the player by not making stuff too realistic, too complex. Except, this is not real life - this is a Sci-Fi universe. Maybe the clone commando backpacks and ammo packs where mags are stored can "redistribute" plasma between mags, by keeping loose mags full and not semi-empty. Kinda like electricity in batteries. Instead of having...say, 4 mags that aren't full, with 15 rounds total, the equipment redistributes the plasma so that each mag is charged to full capacity (five rounds), and you have 3 full mags with 5 rounds each. It's a theory, but I think it's a lot cooler and makes more sense than just saying "we're going by video game mechanic rules because this is based on a video game"
Sooo youtube waited this long to recommand me this, replayed this game so many times it's just natural to watch. For a second there i tought it's Sevs escape from the droids that got him. If this was the promo for the clone wars Republic Commandos I'd be hyped as hell. GOODJOB mate.

@@petervitkov361 Fair enough. I didn't notice the second reload, so I'd concur.
