I like how these commercials feature real, wholesome Americans.
Absolutely
Wow, Tracy Gold in 2 national commercials minutes from each other! And interesting that she would work with Kirk Cameron again 3 years later on Growing Pains
20 days before my high school graduation. 😊😊
same as me ! The early 80's were FANTASTIC !
40 years ago to the day of this comment! And two days before I turn five.
This is the day the weather channel went on the air
And 40 years later, their Spanish-language channel launches as well. Back then, you could only get SIN, Telemundo, or the new Galavision on just a few markets with a high Latino population, like Miami, NYC, LA, Houston, San Antonio, El Paso, or Chicago.
The Weather Channel launched on that day.
I was about to turn 4. In 9 days, my little
sister would complete our family.
Just five days until my parents tied the knot to set the stage for me. Exciting times.
Wow, 40 years ago today! I was 10 at the time.
5:04. Parkay Margarine Commercial with Tracey Gold & Two Gals.
Wow hello childhood
What a wonderful video 💙Thank you for posting this 💙🙂🙏🏽
Oh yeah, I've subscribed
Yes... they were partial credits.
It's the one 'tradition' amongst the commercial-clippers that I'm not fond of, and I can't see any justification for it.
Is YT really picky enough that recognizable copyrighted theme music *without* VO will trigger it?
11:33 Kids today will never know the joys of going to Pizza Hut on a Friday night in the early 1980s after your high school football game, ordering pitchers of Pepsi to drink out of those iconic red pebbled plastic glasses, and talking to the other tables (because you knew everybody there, they all came from the same game) while digging into a fresh pan pizza. Those were the days! I don't think Pizza Hut is even around anymore...
Pizza Hut is still going strong after 65 years. With the prices of everything going up again, many may choose to skip the finer pizza places and instead try Pizza Hut once more. I haven't been there in nearly a decade since there's so much competition/options, but I even remember as a kid when one of my Pizza Huts had a jukebox inside!
0:39: Honda Accord Coupe.
Could you do a special video of album soundtrack commercial of Titanic for the next video on youtube?
15:14 Jessica Savitch wannabe!😀
Same nasaly voice ☺
15:10 alert the news music archives, that's neither hello news or turn to. I've heard the cut before but the name escapes me.
No, that’s Hello. See KDFW/WHAS from that era.
0:22 Brittany Murphy?
tracy gold. one of her sisters was on Benson back in the day. and tracy went on to Growing Pains

I wish the casting was still this demographically accurate instead of box ticking and urban music on every piece
Not sure if you noticed, Jen, but the demographic has shifted and today's commercials ARE demographically accurate. It's your perception that isn't.
The national spots certainly has grown more diverse with the population. Even comparing 1980s commercials with 1950s/60s ones, you'll see it wasn't quite plain vanilla (more Cookies 'n Cream or Chocolate Chip around this time). Local ads do tend to follow the rough demos more accurately.
@@SarahB1863 oh, really? Miscegenation counts for less than 1% of relationships yet interracial couples are vastly over represented in commercials. In the US 13% of the population is black yet you'll find main characters and supporting cast to be overwhelmingly black. In the UK it's 3% of the population yet you'd think it was 70% black and 90% interracial couples. Cut the lies the figures speak for themselves
@@pannoni1491 I disagree. I think given my aforementioned statistics it's clearly a concerted effort to socially engineer and subvert host nations by the very people whom run Hollywood and media. It's well documented and rooted in movements such as crt from the frankfurt school. Marxism and oppressed vs oppressor propaganda. It's the usual suspects that run these marketing and advertisement agencies. Hollywood was always red is a good video by razor fist to watch if you're interested in the rootless international clique that is trying to wreck the west. The 1965 Hart cellar act was designed and pushed by the usual suspects too hence your right about a shift from 60s to 80s programming
@@SarahB1863casting is absolutely not balanced today even given the change in demographics.
