Hey that game is fun I remember the guy w/ the thumbs up and the babes in swimsuits sitting with the trophies, that was a 4 player game for NES if I remember right
The look after "Rub it out" had me in stitches 😂 and then I thought you were going to sniff the fumed but realised you were trying to take a closer look at it 🤣😊🤣
Please don’t stop doing these videos. Even though you do the same thing it is still awesome to see the different boards and some of the lengths you have to clean these.
Oh, that stuff on my face? This cold weather made my entire freakin' face chapped and was clean before I recorded but I have a nasty habit of rubbing that part of my face every time I push up my glasses. Sorry for the distraction.
It's kinda amazing to me just how a little grime can throw a game off so much. Like just a little dirt and dust can make it look like a jumbled mess if letters and numbers. Really goes to show not just fragility of the carts, but how important every part of the board is.
Hi John, here in Italy is unluckily common to get a game bought from a Retroshop described as "cleaned", but when you get the game is even dirtier than this one here! Luckily I always clean every cartridge before to pop it into my systems...
Hey not a bad game. I remember how popular it was at one time, used to be fun playing with friends back in the day. The arcade version had four players with actual steering wheels, pretty cool.
One of my favorite arcade games, there has been a cabinet with wheel at a local mini golf place for 20 years that I know of. I got an NES copy a few years back but it just isn't the same.
I wish there was one easy to find source to let people learn how to deal with these older games for anything as simple as cleaning to how to replace electronic components. I'm an HVACR tech so my trade has taught me enough to deal with most of these issues, but learning to use a multimeter is really easy, but usually you don't need to even go that far. Just pulling out your 72pin adapter and making sure all the pins are solidly in place can fix a lot of issues.
One more cart brought back to life! I was curious when the guy gave it to you in the other video! Doesn't it feel great when we get it to work again? LoL...
I had to open up cart surgery on a NEO-GEO AES cartridge just to clean it. It was Burning Fight and I was nervous because it's an expensive cartridge and it's not the kind of cartridge you can just unscrew with the security bit. Snap-On case for the cartridge.
I took games out of the trash can at game crazy because they threw them away because they didnt work. i had to put solder on some of the pins and copper traces on the circuit board because they corroded so badly they were no longer making contact.
Hey pal! I was going to say hi at sac game expo again but my daughter was having an anxiety issue so we left a little early. I did find some cheap 360 clean games! Also, we love your open kart surgery videos.
I was fixated on the PAC Man cereal poster. I think i ate the very last box in my neighborhood. Good stuff from back in the day when the marshmallows outnumbered the cereal
Lol, I immediately skipped to 4:48 & paused. my guess is Grey Cart version of GAUNTLET! not the black whatchamacallit non nuntendo 'legal' version. Was I right? Let me unpause n C(:
Always love these!! Cool tip, use some quality beard oil (non store bought) on your face and beard, helps especially during these cold months with flakey irritated skin. don’t use creams, they usually exacerbate the problems 💯👊🤘
I recognised the game as soon as the scrambled title screen loaded. It got an awful review when it came out in the uk but I loved the arcade, and loved the nes version too. Still have it boxed in the loft.
Wow! I promise you that I cleaned that cart multiple times in the months that I had it it the hopes that I could get it to work. I even watched your videos for tips. I clean every game I purchase before using it. I'm happy that you got it to work and surprised at what it was. I don't have that game in my collection and it's a game I loved to play in the arcade. Thanks for sharing your talents and knowledge with old and new gamers around the world.
I'm rather concerned, I recognized the jumbled mess that was Ivan in less than a second. Also, as a fellow bespectacled, fellow, that relocating of glasses to focus, feels, man.... Soldering ain't easy without focus.
SUBSCRIBE! When I hit 200,000 I'll do another giveaway.

Not over my giant whacky stick which i whack people with for using the wrong cleaning equipment.

🤣
I was coming here just to say this lol

John, you might think these videos aren't that exciting but they're always a mystery and that's why we love watching.

I actually own a rare two wheel dedicated super off road track pak. It’s 100% mint too. The wellsgardner is mint with no burn in

my copy of casino kid looked the same way on the contacts but thankfully it worked
Love your work to keep Nes Cart stay alive John. You're amazing ❤❤❤
John, you’re a great human. Keep being the best!
We love these types of videos don't stop them
👍👍
“Open cart cleaning”
Merry Christmas John, I like watching you clean old games. 🤣
Congratulations Dr.Riggs another patient saved. I wish you a Merry Christmas 🎄 and a happy and prosperous New Year 2023 John!🎉
You should have made a reproduction label for this open cart surgery. Some cosmetic reconstruction...
Super Off Road! Love that game. Especially the free spinning wheel at the arcade.
Hey not a bad game. I remember how popular it was at one time, used to be fun playing with friends back in the day. The arcade version had four players with actual steering wheels, pretty cool.
I only saw machines with 3 wheels and pedals. Still lots of fun
@@hectorg5809 Oh you're totally right, it was three!
I saw someone in the background. They weren’t interested
Love how the monitor is just casually sitting ON TOP of a PC Engine Duo!!
I still had it set up for testing those Turbo Booster games lol
@@JohnRiggs right on! I remember when I got my Duo - it was a holy grail find for me at a local game swap
I actually enjoyed the anticipation and eventual reveal! Gave me goosebumps...
One of my favorite arcade games, there has been a cabinet with wheel at a local mini golf place for 20 years that I know of. I got an NES copy a few years back but it just isn't the same.
Love the open cart videos!! Please continue. Got a family member video bombing over your left shoulder.
Yep, they were just chillin' on the couch watching their stuff.

Open cart surgery is the same thing over and over but that just means that it's awesome over and over.
Christmas came early!
every Surgery i pray it will work...good job bro keep it up
One more cart brought back to life!
I was curious when the guy gave it to you in the other video!
Doesn't it feel great when we get it to work again? LoL...
CLR that you find in the cleaning isle works really well for cleaning contacts like that. Try it.
Was waiting to find out which game it was!!!
I love this series. It's very relaxing to watch. The fact that they're similar ads to it. ❤️
Came for the mystery and wasn’t disappointed. 😊
The teeth comment made me LOL! Especially with me, living in Georgia =P
sad of me that it was the first thing I thought of.
On mildly bad connectors, a good ol' rubbing with a pencil eraser leaves no gunk, and gets the oxidization layer off.
If you want to change these videos up, you could do a more compelte restoration including the label - that would be cool.
Your look at 3:07 was priceless. Cracked me up good!
Love this series, even if you are just cleaning them. Keep doing them John 😊
ohh I actually wanted to see that..i really surprised you did it so soon but good for you XD

OCR Fridays... now with Sweepy-Thru ™ technology. Cleans 33% more than the leading brand!

It's a Christmas miracle! lol Enjoy your holiday with your family.
Omg off road love that game i need that and super sprint in my collection 😎
You keep doing them cause we love the content lol. Keep it up Riggs!!!
The fact you’re doing this is awesome as it’s preserving the history of video games. No game is worth not saving. Even nes ljn xmen.
LMAO.... "Rub it out" and then that look you gave..... LOL
Decades ago, I paid $5 for Jetsons on the NES; the top of the sticker was there, and it was before loose carts went up in value.
I meant the very top of the sticker.
What's going on your screen that we can see the reflection on your Princess Tomato art???
It's the reflection of our TV - one of my kids was watching something while I filmed this.
Another great episode! Loved the mystery reveal!!!
I loved that look you gave when you said rub it out 😂.
With how that cart looks, that should count as about 5 wins for open cart surgery.
I was fixated on the PAC Man cereal poster. I think i ate the very last box in my neighborhood. Good stuff from back in the day when the marshmallows outnumbered the cereal

Bummer dude! Thot I was old every cartridge based game pro, guess not):
For some reason I love your videos, they just make me feel good.... thanks
This was such a fun game in arcades or on NES. True classic.
I enjoy this kind of videos, please don't stop!

username checks out.
Crazy my aunt had the arcade system of that games years ago in her restaurant
It's great to see the game come back to life.
Awesome game.
Love the premise here, with the mystery cart.
That was one of my favorites growing up in Orangevale
I think no matter how many times you do it, this kind of video is always relaxing and entertaining.
I mean yeah its "mostly" the same video time and time again but I love to see those Open Cart Sugerys !
Nicely done John!
I recognised the game as soon as the scrambled title screen loaded. It got an awful review when it came out in the uk but I loved the arcade, and loved the nes version too. Still have it boxed in the loft.
And that is one of THE best games for NES in my opinion. Nice job.
I love this series!!!
How is the grey truck scaled. He only buys nitros but seems to also get the upgrades you buy.
Love watching you rub it out, John
Awesome game, would absolutely love an arcade unit in my house.
I love these videos😎
I always wonder WHY do people let their games get THAT bad? Wow.
could be water damage or any number of things I suppose.
I was surprised the first time I opened it. Unfortunately I couldn't get it to work. Riggs is the man!
Just subscribed John! I may take this approach on my copy of Chiller on NES. It boots up just fine, but the game play is a bit glitchy.
It's little Samson! Lol
Original track and field! No
Flintstones???
Someone back there is bombing this whole video. :D
haha, my oldest was watching TikTok compilations on TH-cam as they often do.
I was laughing before the look. Hehehehe

Super off road I could tell right away as well god I’m old I remember this in the arcade and Nintendo
Is there a smaller amount from the bright boy metal polish? it might help keep my pokemon platinum work properly and revive my pokemon stadium...
I used to love that game, was like 9 or 10 back then
Hey John, your head is still creating a glare.
Great panel Riggs!
Well done!
I'm rather concerned, I recognized the jumbled mess that was Ivan in less than a second. Also, as a fellow bespectacled, fellow, that relocating of glasses to focus, feels, man.... Soldering ain't easy without focus.
I totally see it now. Up close was crazy but when I saw editing at a distance I couldn't see it as anything but that.
"Looks like the teeth some of the people of my town." 🤣
It’s always a great satisfaction to see when you succeed 😊
TurboDuo just used as a tv stand
I loved that game as a kid.
Big fan of yours, and I'm from Sacramento :) Hope you liked it here.
That is actually a good game to play and do this with cool find.
Was there any particular reason nes carts were so big? Famicom ones were much smaller...
Off road, one of the best multiplayer games ever made...♡♡♡
4:56 hehehe hey Lois i'm a glitched nintendo game
3:08 Oh, John...
I love watching the same video over and over again
Love these vids keep them coming
Was it just me or did video cut out midway…
I like these videos!
I love your stuff RIGGS!!!!
whos that in the back?
