Was SO fortunate to actually watch Stevie play. Unbelievably awesome! He could have commanded the stage by himself. Bonnie Raitt, was there that night too, whoa!
In a better world, Stevie Wonder could watch this. I used to believe songs should only be covered if the cover added something, but now I see, sometimes, it's more like a translation. When a master covers a master. This video reveals the magic, we can see how it's done but does not take away from the mystery.
He was "taken" away to early, the man, his music and what he (SRV) could do with a guitar, will go on forever. Go Stevie you be "sittin with the man".......!!
SRV Tuned his Guitar down a half step because it makes the high notes easier on his Voice. Every Guitarist that also sings would benefit from this lower tuning cause they'll have an easier time w/ the high notes.
That’s right ,Also he prefer to use 0.13 gauge strings so this is another reason why he can’t go for standard tuning because the neck will bending so there’s another reason why he tuned down a half step.
It also could have to do with the fact that blues guitar even long before srv was typically played half step down anyways and the fact that the lower tuning allows for less stress on the strings when you do bends so Im pretty sure your comment is irrelevant
I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn at the Del Mar Fair in San Diego California in the early 80’s , his first album just came out and he played at the race track about 80 people were watching or talking and smoking cigarettes in the grand stands . And me and my girlfriend and her girlfriend were watching in front of the stage . Along with 40 other people . I’ve been playing guitar since I was 5 years old and I was not even blinking . I had to see everything he did , and I think he noticed that I was one of the few really into him jamming . He looked at me and winked every time he did something like throw his guitar around his shoulder or played behind his back or with his teeth . It cost $2 dollars to go into the fair and see this magnificent man playing his heart out . Then about 3 years later I saw him open up for Huey Lewis and the news at the Irvine Amphitheater in Ca. He finished with Voodoo Child Slight Return 🎸. Then Huey Lewis comes out next playing The Heart of Rock and Roll . Poor concert management because half the audience left and the other half drank and smoked weed . I was in the second half of the crowd .
That’s badass!!! I’ve been playing for 25 years and I can follow a lot of great players decently, not great but decently. SRV is still a mystery to me. I miss him. Awesome
Hello sir just wanna say you and John mayer is my inspiration Playing guitar, That was so clean playing, I really like it. By the way sir more videos please? I think all of your videos i already watched haha. Thats all sir godbless and thank you for playing. Kept playing sir please your my inspiration playing my guitar.
Wow so nice. Despite the obviously wonderful solos you pulled off, the rhythm part is insanely good. You merged some of the keyboard fill into the strumming, making it more sophisticated, yet retaining the feeling of the original version. I had a really good time listening to your cover and figuring out your arrangement. Hats off.
Super slick version Mr T! You have some truly great expression in your playing. I love the glasses slip as well lol. I wish i could buy a lot of your covers to put on my iPhone/iPad while I’m driving.
I was Stevie Live and whole place and every one in it ROCKED , I mean ROCKED !!!!!!!!! I watched a guy carrying 2 beers walking along body bobbing up and down and beer spilling out every where AND HE DIDN'T CARE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t play anymore b/c of neuropathy. Great job. This is a song I would play and play and play hoping to play it live in a band. I got to where I thought I had it nailed, grabbed my axe and went to open mike night. My turn with the house bans came up. You get three songs. I started with ‘Damn Right I got The Blues’ by Buddy Guy. We quickly got the groove going and I felt I really rocked that one. The bass, drummer, keyboard, and horn really had it going on and I thought, “okay, I got this,’ and changed the second song to ‘Supperstition.” Man, did I ever fuck it up! Yikes! I tried a couple other nights with results that were no better than the first. That song completely defeated me and each time left me embarrassed and humiliated. It’s one of those songs where you die if you don’t try and you die if you do. 🤣🤣😂😂 Great job, man.
TAB available now! get it here bit.ly/32o3yGu
the tab this link leads me to says "Stevie wonder"...is that the correct one for this SRV style?
Joey Young Yes
Hey vinai... U rock
What are you too scared to try to be yourself try it sometime
Does it include backing track?
SRV set the bar incredibly high for this and every song he played. You’re no Stevie (no one is), but you sure as hell did him and yourself proud.

Wow that vibrato in the solo was amazing. This blew my mind.
i saw the thumbnail and yelled "There is no way this guy has Stevie's Number One with him!"
Excellent playing!
Is not the original, is a serial made guitars in honor of the number 1 of stevie. You can buy one of them on ebay.
An incredible job recreating a legends playing style. No one can or will ever play exactly like SRV but you did him justice with this cover.

Killer tone and skills! Greetings from Brazil!
You made me love my strat more and more , and wanna learn more , and encourage myself to play more. amazing
Bro !!!! You are an absolute BOSS . Fantastic playing my friend . Stevie would be proud .

@@paultomlin8278 it’s a mixture of both points, hardly an irrelevant comment
Yes I believe Jimmy Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen also tuned their guitars down to E flat as well..
@@Jayvlog34 same tuning
This might be my favorite cover ever ! Amazing work, fantastic sound. Solos are out of this world. RIP SRV. Keep up the good work.

Love Your style. Your finger movements are fantastic. It's like a robotic arm. Awesome!
You're a phenomenal guitar player...you don't miss a note within the progression.
This video proves it doesn't matter which instrument you chose to express a musical idea.
💙

Had the fight the jealousy off watching this! Bloody Bravo!
You and me both Kev! I'm amazed yet so jealous at the same time.
Got those goosebumps right at the end. And that's sayin something. Only SRV gives goosebumps. Not too shabby....
Great version of this song like how the riffing follows the melody of the song.

Hey man great cover. 100% not the way Stevie Ray plays it (he plays a much simpler version) but absolutely amazing cover I dig it.
I mean that went without saying but there’s always that one person..
Well done. That song is more complicated than it sounds. Intricacies fully caught here bro. Well done.
Vinai, please make a lesson of this, I’ll buy it in seconds

2019
Is this recorded by one man only playing and
layering all instruments, including vocals???
A W E S O M E !
Thelonious Coltrane this is a cover. He’s playing Stevie Ray Vaughan’s version of Superstition.
@@robertwellington2616 Do you know the answer to Thelonious Coltrane's question? I'm curious as well.
No. He bought a backing track with all the instrumentation minus guitar and he provides the link to it in itunes in the description
Wonderful guitar play, good for you! 😎🎸🎶
This is killer, man. Don't mind the haters. Use them as elevators. 👊🏼🎸🔥
that solo was insane!! vibrato is fkn good too
MR.SRV would be proud!
You did the song justice making it your own is the biggest challenge.
💙
Great playing, but the freaking TONE is what killed me. Sounds more SRV than SRV. Amazing.
Wow that's just awesome and sooooo clean
If I had even an ukulele I'd be Rockin' that out
💙
Really nice chord work. Awesome!
That toneeeeeeeeeeeeee
อ.หนึ่ง เล่นกี่แนวก็สุดยอดทุกแนวจริงๆครับ
Joe Walsh says he can tell a good player by their right hand, not their left. This guy's right hand is darn near effortless.
Steve Parton yep I’ve been playing for ages and am just figuring this out, oh well get to work now..
The right hand is fondamental to play funky
