Absolutely love that you included images of the armies. As a hobbyist mostly, i found it really intriguing to see the beautiful armies other paint. Keep it up!

Awesome breakdown there mate! I always love to see what people are coming up with in these events. Very surprised that not a single dwarf was seen, especially with Dwarves being such a threat in my local meta. Can't wait to see this Sauron list you are building, gotta have it fight Last Alliance or Men of the West first!
The real problem with dwarves is that movement, they do be slow. Also, the "good" dwarves (Khazad Dum) have no spear apart from the Vault Wardens and Fioi

Great Video. Really enjoyed seeing what's popular at the moment and the different paint schemes. If you are ever allowed/able to film any of the battles at the tournament then it would be great to see them as Batreps, even if its just the final. Would love to see how some of the small model count armies (i.e. Eagles with Aragorn) manage to win against larger armies. Thanks again.
Great video! I wasn't surprised at all that the helm list was first because I have played with and against it many times and it is SUPER powerful.
I’ve run Helm to good success but it’s very matchup dependent, as a strong magic army will just make sure Helm is transfixed every turn. Helm is also vulnerable to having his head chopped off by a Striking Hero since he’s only F5 with 1 Fate. Since your list hinges around Helm once he goes down it’s over
I love the look of that winning Rohan army. Always been a big fan of royal guard.

Also, yes, I´ve been playing Helm Hammerhand a bunch of times last year at a small tournament and in our local league (also in some friendly games). He won most of the times (like 2 out of 3 games). Glad to see him winning a tournament, a bit surprising, because he is bit fragile against magic and your army depends on him.
I`ve heard he also made a name in Italy, where he was played with massed out Rohan Warriors with throwing spears, I believe.
A friend of mine also played him at like 600 points with like 40 warriors and just overrun his opponent.

All these lists are insanely cool. It was interesting to see Riders of Theoden out there and its placement: In my local scene that particular army is an absolute terror and though we've had few tournaments it's placed second for one and won another.

Sad to not see any Gondor or Fiefdoms (except that one eagles lists but that doesn't really count), I know some people think they are a bit boring but they are my two favorites and I think they can both be very competitive
I definitely agree both are very competitive. I am painting up my Gondor army at the moment so I'll be running them soon
Great content as ever, only a few mins in and Isengard army right down the bottom… shows again it’s not always the models but the player that makes such a difference in this game!!
Pretty confused how that list can reach 1st position with so MUCH wizards from the evil side. I know that Is a strong list but suffers a lot magic. (Was It a blu va blu event?)

Love seeing more elves! I really want to make a hybrid Lothlorien and Rohan or Nuemenor list. Strength 4 and fight 5/6 sounds awesome!
Glorfindel last choice out of the 3, never heard that before. He has more than 3 attacks when on horse which can’t just get shot straight away like the others can, also has the re-rolls with lotw. Best all round hero out of the 3 i’d say.
Interesting, the better horse is a massive benefit but I find compared to Gil Galad his damage output is so low, and compared to Elrond he doesn't have anywhere near the same survivability or utility.
Ultimately it comes down to preferance but I haven't ever been scared when someone has put Glorfindel against me
@@ConquestCreations Gi-Galad has the better damage output compared to the other two but can be targeted by magic so easily and obviously only has 1 fate. Elrond has great buffs but is very expensive and still has the same damage output as glorf. But glorfindel is good against magic and can’t just be transfixed easily. Also can’t be hurled by monsters which is huge. And then asfaloth with his 2 wounds and 12 inch move is also a great asset. For me he’s the best all rounder out of the 3.

I've seen the Helm LL in a few lower point tournaments (650 and below), but never over that. That's really surprising to see him at a 750, but winning is crazy and awesome. I'm surprised that there we 0 Beornings or AoL... the American meta right now is basically Depths or Moria, AoL, Beornings and a metric ton of Rohan.
First place is a bit baffling. Magic tends to hardcounter Helm and the LL is considered to be strongest at lower points levels. But in tournaments you never know how pairings end up going, and thankfully in this game things like the scenario matter more than army characteristics on paper.

Helm's LL has podiumed a few times at (2nd at the Warhammer world GT 700pts) and won a few big events (Into the west 450pts) over here in the UK although hasn't made much of an impact at the higher point events when magic tends to be more prevalent and can shut him down to easily.
The dark denizens army (best painted) looked amazing! Where are the trees and the spiders from?

Hi Jacob! I'm a Mordor player (currently. I also have the Minas Tirith BH and the Fellowship) and have a lot of models for a new player but not much of a plan or idea of where I should be aiming with my collection. I was wondering if you could suggest what I should aim for? I'm guessing another named hero or two should be a priority first and foremost.
Currently I have the Mordor BH, the Witch King on Fellbeast, a second fellbeast (currently unassembled to my shame, haha), three Mordor trolls (one which I use as a chieftain), the Mordor orc commanders a nazgûl on horse and more Morannon's than I could ever need.
My main list utilizes 2-3 warbands, usually with the Witch King, a troll drummer and a Mordor orc banner bearer leading morannons in one; and a troll chieftain leading two spear wargs and a small force of Mordor or Morannon orcs (sometimes with bows, but more recently without) in the other.
I've only gone up against Rohan, Moria and the Easterlings so far, but I'm feeling like my list isn't the most optimized? It would be great to get some advice on what units I should consider getting. A lot of heroes and units don't seem to be available for me, but morgûl knights look like a tempting option :)

How do you decide for the most unique? We also organize small tournaments and that sounds quite interesting...

Looking at the "meta", it seems dwarves need an update. Not really represented in competitions it seems

It was super wired that there weren't any dwarves usually there are a few. Dwarves are great you have a heap of options all of which are very competitive. I came second place with Army of Thror last year and Balins expedition came first at a tournament in Perth last year as well.
Erebor reclaimed did just recently get an update in the defence of the north book.

It's in the war in Rohan but it's not with the rest of the legions it's in the appendix close to the back of the book

Is gothmog terrible so never used? or is the witch king just so much better that no-one ever takes him?
Gothmog is great he gets used all the time. He and the Witch King are very different units. Several lists with the Witch King are Angmar rather than Mordor so don't have the option to take Gothmog.
Additionally if you are playing Mordor there is no reason that you couldn't use both in the same list

Lothlorien was popular! It came first at Ardacon as well
Mainly because they can be orange allies with every good forces : they are super usefull in lots of situations :)

what does a Throwing hammer do in the last list?
I think is an error, I dont think is possible to have an throwing hammer 😅

Thanks for the comment. We had an odd number of players so a few people myself included played some games to even it up. All of those players scores got to 12th place.

I played the Fellowship with no upgrades except for Borromir's shield, I believe the other player played Numenor but I could be wrong

I'm always disappointed by glorfindels stats... he should be the finest warrior the good guys can field.
But he's weaker than loads of them.

New to the game. I see no love for hobbits, dwarfs or the army of the dead? Are they just not viable in tournament play?
Hobbits, Dwarves, and Army of the Dead all go very well in tournament play. Not many people play hobbits because of the shear numbers required to make an army. Dwarves have several different factions all of which are good in thier own way but Iron Hills being the most popular tournament army. Army of the Dead is played quite a lot and is a great first army, most people play it in the Return of the King legendary legion
