@@alsadekalkhayer7007 sir they're in 🍁
I applaud the determination to do WAN no matter what and where. Thanks LLD and all those involved APPRECIATED.
Linus Leg Dips
they have been doing the WAN show at shows like this for a very long time.
Oh hey! Thanks for the shout out.
Sounds like you're quoting from the Android Authority coverage of my Twitter thread/video which kinda made some leaps that I didn't.
I do think it sucks that Spotify is killing the car thing.
And I do think there's potential to do more with it. But my general point is it will be hard to do things beyond the purpose that Spotify built it for... essentially a fancy webapp machine that's dependent on a companion device to do the real work.
The Car Thing Hax group is doing GREAT work though in trying to make strides in exactly that area. It's a lesson in frustration, and I applaud their efforts.
But the calls for "just open source it so we can save it" are a little misplaced because 1) It's already open sourced, and 2) it's going to take a lot more work than we'd hope thanks to the nature of the hardware.
Still worth the effort though!
Oh and Luke, if you're reading this, great job! Got the Anoraker pronunciation exactly right.
Hello there!
This makes a lot more sense, thanks for the clarifications and sorry for the 3rd party quoting!
Thanks a ton for reaching out! Happy I got the name right :D
Re: Qualcomm not micromanaging sponsor spots.
Back in the day (mid 90s) I read an article in road and track (or car and driver, or motor trend) which was a big summer shootout between all the sports cars of the day.
All the manufactures showed up with their cars, a trailer full of parts, and entire engineering teams. Mitsubishi had the 3000 gt; Mazda, the rx7; Chevy and ford the Camaro and mustang respectively; nissan, the 300zx, and the list went on.
Well all of them showed up with a army of techs and parts except for one. Toyota.
Toyota sent a Supra on the back of a truck with a bunch of spare tires and a note that read: have fun.
That's pure confidence.
The message was clear. People may think the reputation of the supra is undeserved or was catapulted by the _Fast_ movies. But even in 1995 the thing was basically immortal.
The Qualcomm thing reminds me of that. I wish I still had that magazine.
I think i remember this test and supra didn't do good on that, with the exception of breaking power. When it came to handling, cornering etc. it was lagging behind. So yeah, maybe not the best example.
@@AnonAlmostDelivers Nah, the only thing it didn't dominate on was top speed over the Ferrari.
Let's not forget, the 2jz puts down closer to 320hp stock, and against the other 3 Japanese cars, it's got basically a 40-50hp advantage. Toyota and Nissan (with the gtr, not the 300zx) had already quietly scrapped the gentleman's agreement with those two cars (because racing). And the supra was up in power over the Camaro and the mustang.
The supra dominated basically every shootout it was in. Even back in the day it was a monster. Cars like the NSX and RX7 would put handle the car because of the weight difference but the supra was designed for gt racing against the heavier gtr and raced in the class above the rest, at least on the beginning. (Although to be fair, the gtr dominated the supra on the racing circuits, the supra was basically a failure on the track).
That's so much nicer than the studio .... get someone to do a huge terrarium for you permanent set .
This would actually just be so cool. Imagine if it was one of the half under water half above water aquariums. Get some archer fish that would occasionally get caught on camera in action.
Remember to change playback speed to .5 and you automatically unlock the secret 5 hour WAN show cut!
.25 speed, record it on obs, upload it again .25 speed. 16 hour wanshow
$30 for a solid metal bolt action pen is practically a steal. Anyone who thinks it's too expensive has *zero* experience with anything but whatever they can get the cheapest at Office Depot.
Linus, missing The Write-Off Pen was a pretty big blind spot for the Vision Officer. 😂
you can get those for a tenner, but it's not a bad deal indeed. They make good use of waste. Most Asian companies just let it be recycled.
The problem is shipping for users in other places.
£13 an hour is actually a really great rate for an 18-21 year old living most places in the uk. Our minimum wage of £11 only kicks in at age 21, 18-20 year olds only make £8 an hour for pretty much any entry level job a kid that age is likely to work.
Its prtty good compared to minwage but minwage itself is garbage so it doesnt realy help
It's only good because they're young. The money in itself is terrible and can't really do much for you unless you lived in a bottom tier flat with a bare bones car without a family
No it's not. 🤣 You're out of touch.
@@narutouzumaki4710It's not even good for young people. Their labor isn't worth less just because they're younger.
@@Studio23Mediawhat are you talking about. You earn a great pay with little overhead work as possible. You don't need to commute and you don't need to apply make up and all that stuff

About 30% of Londoner's are earning £13.15 p/h OR LESS..
Welcome to the United Kingdom
after being in canada i can tell you if youre not looking at electronics, canada was waaaay more expensive, £13.15 was as much as i was getting in vancouver for skilled labour
Also Britain is around 8-10% cheaper cost of living than Canada on average :)
@@v0idgrimAlthough possibly less so if you live in London. I live in the NE of England, you could live fairly comfortably on £13.15 and hour up here.
The minimum wage in the US is 8.75... welcome to amaerica
@@matgoodliff2086Yeah, you can realistically cheap out on electronics and find something good enough for yourself. But rent and food are not things you can cheap out on without feeling consequences. Cheap food is usually unhealthy or not nutritious enough, whereas cheap rent means that either your home will have big issues and/or the location is bad (dangerous neighbourhood, no jobs in the area, low proximity to public services etc.).
Ik my comment is going to be buried, but, on the subject of human pose estimation with depth cameras and edge compute, its actually remarkably easy! (I am a highschooler who has been working on using ZED depth cameras with a Jetson Orin Nano edge compute platform for 3d target localization of game pieces for my FRC team). The ZED specifically comes with pre-trained pose estimation models, so it would be relatively easy to get an initial system setup to capture the human pose then to separately interpret that data with a secondary model that can differentiate between different moves. All told it took me about a day to get ML localization with depth working and I don't imagine human pose estimation to be significantly more difficult given the baked-in API support.
One of the biggest things about a VR job is that it can enable people who are disabled or otherwise housebound to get work.
it also promotes lazyness and entitlment
@@Scypher0thno those people don't get paid remote work, they choose to do it for free on Reddit.
This exists in Japan in a relatively large capacity.
They can probably do any kind of computer job honestly. Not sure about VR because it often cost to implement
So another reason for the government to NOT help you? Awesome.
"Well sir, we know you're a fucking quadriplegic, but you can use this tool we've developed to move a mouse with your mouth and file inventory with our voice to text service so before you fucking kill yourself from morbid depression and not being able to come to terms with your already miserable life and being forced to work a weak, just like us able-bodied humans!"
Awesome.
To be honest, $30 is one of the cheaper pens I’ve got. People complaining it’s expensive are the type of people who have only ever owned a bic. Pens can just be expensive, period. It’s for a good reason.
I went to a mont blanc store once and saw a $900 pen. Different things for different markets. To be fair I would consider this pen more in line with rotring 600 pens which are well for the same price if not more.
For real, I expected it to be far more

Our girl cat had a similar issue. Our vet recommended a special diet, Hills c/d; she hasn't had a problem with crystals after. Check with your vet though!
I can't believe that I am saying this, but some Reddit user deserves massive praise. That Write-Off moniker for the failpen/ScribeDriver.. is just perfection.
Sadly, they were to late. I would have bought one with that name. Not that they needed me to sell all of them.

£13.15 is actually a relatively decent wage dependent on where you live in the UK
The legal minimum wage in the UK is as follows;
Over 21's is £11.44
18-20 Years old is £8.60
16-17 year old is £6.40
in london it is the "mininum living wage"
1:36 might be my favorite scene ever 🤣
Luke just taking charge, knowing full well it'd would be a disaster and having the authority to tell him no, amazing 🤣
My actual job in the UK doesn't pay such. I'm actually tempted to look into it
I would be worried about it's security, I can see it dissolving in a year
Yup, but it might look good on the resume in the future
the biggest thing about the helicopter hunting thing, is that the government hired American contractors to come up here, and hunt out of a vehicle, with suppressors, and full capacity magazines, using AR15s.
hunting from a vehicle is illegal for normal PAL holders.
suppressors are banned for normal PAL holders.
PAL holders are limited to five round magazines.
and the government banned the AR15 along with several other rifles because "they serve no legitimate purpose in canada"
the double think is astounding.
Hunters would not have done that "for free." Hunters would have PAID to do it.
I'm 33 minutes in and am sad DAN is missing. We shall send out a search party at once! He would never purposely miss a WAN show!
Dan was not missing
50 minutes in, you will hear Dan
He was even signing prizes. And that talked about Dan week over on floatplane that finished up.
found him at 53:00
£13.15 is the London Living Wage, which is a recommended minimum for London due to the higher cost of living. If someone is working outside London but being paid a London wage, that can actually work out pretty well. For contrast, regular minimum wage is £8.60 from the age of 18, and £11.44 from 21+. (and £6.40 if you're under 18 and/or in the first year of an apprenticeship)
Cat crystal thing. It's common when feeding dry food. If you want to reduce the crystals you'll need to buy veteranary grade cat food specifically made to reduce this or move them to a wetter diet. Be sure that you're buying a high meat content food or it's essentially junk food. We have the same issue with our cat and it's essentially pay a lot in food now or pay a lot in vet bills later.
But... Talk to your vet for advice, don't listen to randos on the internet.
That's great advice, but wait, you are a rando on the internet so I shouldn't listen to you right...? I'm so confused 😉

Im not anywhere near £13 an hour working in the uk
Linus: You really wanna play this game?
Luke: Yes.
Linus: Oh...

How dare you not think about the shareholders
u should be happy to make 9 an hour, didn't you know that boomers only started off at 2 an hour. ignore that 2 an hour in todays money is 69 an hour.
Canadians learn about UK poverty wages when compared to US and Canada
For real, some states in America still only have a 7.25$ minimum wage per hour.

Linus&Luke say it’s unusual for Intel to ship Battlemage mobile first as if Intel hasn’t been a mobile-only GPU company for over a decade, and also shipped Alchemist mobile first lol.
This needs to be a set at LTT, such a good vibe for wan show
Helicopter culls are common here in Australia, because of the huge amounts of land to cover and how unsuccessful the emu cull in the 20’s was with truck mounted machine guns
The fact that Recall is tied to Snapdragon laptops means anyone that's slightly privacy conscious will not want anything to do with it. MS is really shooting itself in the foot with that thing.

As a fort McMurray resident, the rat population is still present but not in large amounts. You're encouraged to call the rat hotline if you find a few of them, but most people here don't know the program exists. We do have some massive mutant sized mice though

The scribe driver is phenomenal. I love it so much. Ive had a few nice pens over the years and this is the best by far. It really should have been named the write -off 😂
The ikea pay is higher than minimum wage, and an extreme amount of people live on it in the UK, and many would kill to have a job of any kind - including minimum wage job. It's bad.
£13 an hour is still almost 30% over minimum wage here in the UK.. not bad for playing games. Get less for stocking real shelves at most supermarkets.
The write-off is so good I’d consider renaming xD

When I was 19, I took an unpaid internship that was very similar to the position discussed, at least theirs is paid position. Mine only became paid after about 2years. (Was a support role at a online virtual world. It taught me the basics and got my foot in the door within the industry. (Considering I was located in CapeTown South Africa and company was in Georgia, Atlanta)
Today I am an Senior Android Engineer at Warner Brothers Discovery, and I would never have gotten where I am had it not been for that starter role!
You still should have been paid for the work that you were doing. Stop making excuses for greedy grubby people and companies ruining the world.
if you'll have an AI data center in the badminton one, you'll be able to auto-blur whoever you want while keeping the player person in the video
While you're looking for people to ban in the comments, if you see a racy profile picture attached to a very sensible comment you can often do a search on the page for the contents of the comment and find that exact comment posted earlier. The bots find highly rated comments and copy them verbatim to pass off as their own. Annoying and unfair to the person that actually came up with the comment
They're extremely annoying. I report them all.
Why can't there be soldered ram, and then also have socketed memory that might run slower but can still expand capacity?
There is a Conifex sawmill in Mackenzie, BC that is leasing their excess power capacity to coin miners after downsizing their plant. Lots of old industrial sites are being repurposed for things like this because they have millions of dollars in electrical equipment being unused.
I can't speak to fan expos in the tech space but fan expos in the LEGO space are still going strong.
Well there is a reason Rittal (a well known electric enclosures manufacturer in Germany) announced a 1MW cooling solution (100 kW / Rack) in the last week's.
Yo Linus, what are the IEMs you are using on this video?
The brand will be Shure. Check out either LTT or Short Circuit he made a video review quite a while ago. I love my Shure's.
Looks soooooooo much better without the giant mic that covers the face or the giant headphones
In addition the math does not add up.
A usual full size rack is 42U which would add up to a max of 226.8 kW.
Not considering that no one would build it like that, as you will need switches in there as well. I think Nvidias own configuration was 6 up top and 5 on the bottom at Supermicro.

When visiting London you pay tourist prices. The cost of living in the UK and the EU is much lower than in the US or Canada. 13£ an hour is pretty good for an entry level job you might do while studying. There are positions that pay about the same and require a academic degree. The average hourly wage in the UK is 17.50£.
the writeoff pen isn't even close to my most expensive pen
£13.15 an hour in London? Dude i live outside of london on £12.50 and i can only just afford to live, rent and bills are like 30-40% higher in London. But it is a remote job so i guess if you live outside of London then ya its good ish
1:16:30 go Dan, I thought I was a rare type that actually learned the xkcd numbers. Randall Munroe deserves way more love and respect.

Having a "virtual" onsite employee('s) would actually be a pretty novel idea(at first) to be able to toss on some VR glasses and actually have a employee going over the product that the employee can physically touch and show the potential customers exactly how a product works in a real world environment, this would really be beneficial for a less expensive way of helping customers repair products with a person virtually, it would 1) be much more convenient for the customer to repair a product and B) could make repairs much less expensive by not having to have a tech physically come to your house, which can save both the customer and the business a considerable amount of $

Yo legit most it support techs earn less than that in London, it's not that deep. Im in bristol these days moved last year and was offered a job for £12.50 an hour as a network engineer....
Most people in the UK end up on our shitty national living wage or just above it its depressing.. Welcome to cost of living crisis baby. I earn 1.2k per month after tax and my rent is £900 for a single, tiny fucking room.
Peace out rishi sunak you've got us, I believe in you...
Should have started that youtube channel when I was like 12 back in 06
£13.50 is minimum wage now so if your company hasnt raised your wage then i suggest bringing it up with them, its illegal to go less than 13.50 now
@@mightymushroom4980their point was minimum wage for a network engineer.
@@mightymushroom4980£11.44 according to www.gov.uk/government/publications/the-national-minimum-wage-in-2024
My wife is a Health Care Assistant in the NHS (at the top grade after 2 years of study) and doesn't earn £13.50.
@@mightymushroom4980it isn’t. It’s £11.44 www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage-rates
@@mightymushroom4980No think that is the recommendation for the living wage, the actual minimum wage is only £11.44 if your over 21 (and only £8.60 if your 18-20)
I definitely couldn't tell that the GPU Factory video was improv - that's impressive!
Get yourself a man who looks at you like 0:04
1:19:45 ==> Framework investment payed off once again! Awesome stream, awesome work, thanks!
Love Dan! Need more of him on the channel
For those wattage numbers i can see data center companies building their own renewable power plants on site to just power the data center. As renewable power isn't consistent a huge battery will be needed to store the excess at sometimes and draw it at others. It will get rid of the need for a powerful enough to it can power all of Poland power grid to power that 1 building too. For some companies the cost to build and maintain their own power plant might be less than how much it would cost to buy the needed power from the grid then you have if they wanted another they might be able to expand the power generating parts and just build the other data center building next to it without having to move to another power grid.
Dan has a Suzuki Capuccino? Man of culture and taste right there.
1:16:14 as a ukrainian, i appreciate this
Even the old ARM on Windows laptops had amazing battery life. I have a Samsung ATM on Windows laptop that launched 4 or so years ago and one thing I can't fault it for is the battery life.
If artificial intelligence isn’t intelligent there are a lot of folks walking around we’d need to give the same bad news.
😂😂😂😂.
No need to sit and explain why it isn't a cop out that Linus has nvidia GPUs in the house!
He said he would boycott the 40-series, not that he would rid his life completely of nvidia. The gaming machines in the basement is 30-series, so he is still doing what he said!
Datacenters are producing so much heat that it would definitly be worth it to sell that heat energy.
Depends a bit on the type of cooling. Here we have a Microsoft datacenter that was supposed to heat greenhouses, but the air isn't hot enough. Apparently watercooling produces hotter water to transport the heat more efficiently
@@random27 That just depends on the size of the greenhouse. It's likely they made it too big on purpose. You don't want any left over heat from your "free source" so the greenhouse should be scaled beyond what the datacenter can supply so nothing of the free heat goes to waste. Then you can add heat pumps and electrical energy to take you the rest of the way.
someone make a datacenter with a sauna or hot tubs/jacuzzi resort, money from datacenter and money from the resort. Win win 😂
Will we see android OS computer test in the future? I am actually looking into that now. Testing it on old hardware got mix results but was wondering if there is a right way of doing it.
For me, Nvidia discrete GPUs are the only real option. AMD's are really good now, but they still lag so far behind in AI accelerated features and ray tracing. The current console generation is so good, that the only reason I feel the need to go to PC is for features like path tracing, but AMD can't even compete there. Also DLSS/DLNA, frame gen, Reflex, ray reconstruction, Broadcast, etc. They're all miles ahead of what AMD has. I want there to be more competition in the discrete GPU space, but AMD doesn't even seem to be trying aside from pure raster performance, which is just not enough at this point. Even Intel is innovating faster, even though, they're coming from much farther behind.
I love and hate it when my employer is mentioned, but it keeps me sane and grounded in reality
Data centres are going to need there own wind and solar farm 😂
Ive been saying for years DO SCARPYARD WARS IN TAIWAN. It would be so funny having dennis help translate and complete transactions.
Every new node increases exponentially in costs, to increase prices makes sense, as much as I would prefer it to otherwise.
Csm = customer success manager = hybrid sales and customer service role in the US. These are usually low paying grade school level educated positions like your customer service at your internet company that tries to sell you a product after you call in about the current product not working.
1:43:00 fun fact, we actually recently had some small rat infestations in Edmonton and Calgary. It was huge news here lmao
On the whole thirsty comment thing, i think a big reason about some guys not caring is… well how often do guys get complimented by someone that isnt like a fellow bro at the gym. Sometimes its just nice, a self esteem booster even. Tell your friends they look like a chad sometimes, make em happy for a bit
Give guys a compliment, please do. Telling someone they look like a Chad is definitely not a compliment!
@@hinkrakagaming5532 idk i tell my friend whos working on weight loss stuff like that and the smile he cracks makes me happy, also makes him workout longer. We are gonna be fit bros at this rate which is also helping his overall positivity.
Maybe Nintendo is secretly pressuring the city to stop your beauty pageants
10:10 damn, so linus would have been the tech equivalent of a reddit mod
Linus and luke are very off base here with their views on UK salaries. You can hire a decent junior software engineer from a top university for £13 an hour here.
I make more than that as a bottom tier security guard in the middle of nowhere, Wisconsin. That sounds absurd.
As an Albertan, it is a point of pride, there are no, and will never be rats in my province
I would love an LTT video or series on mainframe computing
