Die hard FAMU rider but when they announced we were going to the SWAC I was worried. FAMU has always been about musicality and not over blowing etc but we’ve ALWAYS been about the difficulty and not the “loudness”. Band director need to Dr. Lee that thang and bring some parts out though if we tryna compete 😅
The thing I love about FAMU tubas is they always play together never hear multiple tubas always sound as one and they don't bounce up and down like oompa lumpas
KB… Great review, as always, but you’ve got to understand the FAMU musical concept to understand why our tubas play the way they do. It’s all about staying “in the pocket” for us. FAMU teaches that quality should never be sacrificed for power, so you’ll never hear them let loose the way you’re looking for. Could our Tubas play way louder, of course, but it’s just not within our concept, never has been. The SWAC is all about power so y’alls expectations will have to get adjusted, but we ARE who we ARE. As a former FAMU Sax player, I appreciate you acknowledging the woodwinds b/c the difference is CLEAR. Deductions were warranted on both sides but shout out to ASU as they sound way better than they have in the past. It’s still FAMU Forever!! #ExcellenceInMusicianship #HubbaHundred 🐍🍊
Love your reactions brutha. I just want to point something out that I noticed. On the round you gave to ASU because of the "note" by a FAMU turmpet, I marked it as a tie because ASU had tempo issues on their song. Watch the director clap to get them back in sync. Also, people need to realize FAMU don't do the bass thumping or the trumpet "screams". They are about that pyramid balance no matter what they play. The bass (tuba) supports not thump or overpower. People should not expect them to switch who they are just because their athletic department decided to join the SWAC. Be safe and be blessed.
Thank you. big facts!! SWAC people need to get it out their heads thinking FAMU is going to switch their sounds to fit in with the swac sound, it ain’t happening, famu sound is balanced and not screaming trumpets.
But they use to have screamers too plus tubas so thats not all the way true they didn't need to over blow because they also had bigger numbers they really was marching the whole field
Nah, y’all some ops on famu, they’re probably one of the best if not the best hbcu bands just because they ain’t copying everyone else. They’re doin their own thing and making good musicians. Their whole thing is musicianship over volume. They catch too much heat over how balanced they are. But at least you can hear the woodwinds, just sayin…
They both sound good, but Bama state was just better on this day...great job both bands.famu definitely stepped it up though..Coming from a TnSU FAN #AoB 🎩🔵🔴
🙄KB hates on FAMU again. ASU’s video conveniently cuts out FAMU’s last song (they in fact played 2 more while ASU packed up and ran). FAMU’a Motion God was hitting. And what’s “missing” from their arrangements is out of control, upper register blasting for no reason at all….but go off…😒🤨🙄🤫
Great job to both bands ..FAMU...can we plzzz get some Tubas... beautiful sound but can we get some funk from the tuba Section ..n Alabama State ...yall sounded good..just too many minor mistakes...
@@Icecreamman007 Im a former famu ww… I am well aware of what our wws do. The clarinets bounce back and forth between the trumpet and trombone part. The piccolo’s match the trumpets and the saxes the mellos.
Great Reaction.. thanks bro
No problem 👍

FAMU isn’t trying to compete.
DEM Woodwinds Nasty FAMU!
All those tubas FAMU got and they don't let loose
No, the SWAC screams and we don’t do that at FAMU.

Fam always swear they live and they definitely not. They the opposite… square to the root smh
On marching 100 paparazzi famu had one more song to play and it was a good arrangement, but I think there was tempo issues
let me find out that second song Alabama St. played was ABC Aisha lol. It actually cranked.

I'm always waiting to hear FAMU to bring that Spend the Night by the Isley Brothers back. That would've won it for them.
That was the year they made the boat and played Aaliyah 🔥🔥🔥
I was there in 2000 and that version was insane!!
This the 1
Stand Bands a make you dance, stand bands a make you dance...
All these folks playing in the stands, but FAMU don't give a damn...
I love my school
But they DONT make us dance in the stands , they are boring
That last song FAMU played should've stayed in the band room 😂!
know famu history, it’s not a battle on the last song, we have always ended with that song.
Lol it was
