@859foh I just visited Kentucky for the first time over Christmas. My son is in Lexington. We took long day trips into the mountains and towns. It is so beautiful, I just loved it. The history and old houses and shops are everywhere. I look forward to going back.

A noted resident of Bowling Green was the late Dr. Howard R. Carpenter, who joined Western Kentucky University as a Professor Music in 1953, headed the department from 1965-1975, and finally retired from the University in 1984. His son John grew up in Bowling Green and for a while attended WKU before relocating to California to attend USC. He of course went on to a rather successful career as a filmmaker, noted for movies like "Assault on Precinct 13", "Halloween", "The Fog", "Escape from New York", "The Thing" and many more. John is also frequently recognized for scoring his own movies, obviously having acquired a talent for music from his father. While attending school in Bowling Green one of John's classmates and close friends was Tommy Lee Wallace, who would become a frequent collaborator with John - as a production designer, editor, musician, and writer. He wrote the script for and directed "Halloween III: Season of the Witch", and would later direct the original TV mini-series adaptation of "Stephen King's IT".

I went to the Corvette museum years ago when I drove a 1996 yellow LT4 and got free admission back then with special parking for Corvettes only. I miss that car. Another very good video. I see the leg is still an issue. I myself limp because of a bad knee replacement I got staff infection with, so I am sensitive to people who limp like you are doing. Your's is getting better thankfully and not as pronounced as the prior video. All the town courthouses were very nice. Your ability to frame them so artfully is what makes the difference between your channel and others on TH-cam. Because of your art you are collecting quite a following in England. It seems the English appreciate how well you do your videos. I'm looking forward to Ohio next. My buddy lives there on a horse farm. It's funny Nicole ribs you about having a driveway. Your driveway is what hotel you are presently staying at. You need to invest in a lot in the Hill Country. It is where Texans retire to. You need to consider Canyon Lake before it gets too expensive. It's close enough to major hospitals but far enough away from the crowds. Add it as a San Antonio side trip. Keep the videos coming they are very entertaining.

Hi Joe: Thank you for another great video of a part of the world I’ve never seen. You mentioned some houses built of “rock” in this video and previously. Actually these are referred to as “stone” houses. Here in the Philadelphia suburbs we have many stone houses constructed of stone from local quarries. Just thought you’d like to know. And thanks for showing the Corvette Museum! How cool!!

It is very much commendable that you are funding it totally with your personal monies. this entire private documentary of yours will certainly sit as part of the US history for the future generations if they choose to see and get to know how things were during the first quarter of 21 st century. Hope your Federal Government takes note of your efforts and supports you financially and otherwise too as required. with regards

My husband ordered a new 1967 Corvette and there was a strike which caused him stress and long anxious times before it was finished. They are too small for even a couple to drive on a long vacation; they require taking the top off to get a large piece of luggage in or out! We drove it to FL with a cooler and our luggage. That required us to squeeze things in somewhat and we were quite crowded! We sold it and bought a new Thunderbird which we had quite a while. We drove it to CA and all over the west as we enjoyed it so much!

Great video, as usual. I love the look of these towns. The Corvette Museum is worth a visit. That church in Columbia is just a bit creepy both inside and outside. Very stark and the windows were covered? I could not work out the seeming lack of natural light. But an opening way up in the 30 foot ceiling brings to mind a pyramid, while the exterior looks like either a silo or a planetarium. And you two always find the best restaurants!

👍That chapel is similar in its bee-hive brickwork design to those fabled medieval-mosques in central Asia: Sufi Persia, Samarakand and so on. 👍

My brother had a '65 Corvette, everything stock. When he got married and had kids, the 'vette had to go and he was very sad. You wouldn't believe the power that the little car had. 😲Are you coming up to Michigan? (my state)

Not this trip, but we have been up to Michigan. We've done videos of the UP, Lansing, Flint & Detroit. We'll be heading back up there again this summer - too cold for us Texans right now! :)

We are moving from SE Wisconsin to Columbia Kentucky the first week in Aug. 2024... Been trying to get out of Wisconsin's bitter cold winters for 48 years. Every time we tried too leave something happened that made us stay... I guess it's now God's will and timing that we finely get out of here!!!! Thanks for all the AWESOME info on the town...
I sure do enjoy y'all's channel. May you kids be blessed in Jesus name... BBE..

Hello! I am a transplanted Jersey girl. We moved here in 1988.
You will enjoy the winters here:
Single digit degree weather = Maybe a couple days at a time, then it warms up to the 20’s.
Bad snowstorms = Every 5-7 years, maybe.
Schools do close in the winter, due to icy road conditions.
One piece of advice: you and I know how to drive on snowy roads. But I stay home because the people who grew up here do not.

I live here in Columbia and we don’t reenact the bank robbery anymore. We haven’t done that since 2007-8. We didn’t have enough interest drawn up to go out and keep finding horses who were trained to remain calm with gunshots. But if you look up on TH-cam you can still find the videos from back in 2006 the old video of the reenactment.
