I feel like current Marine Ranking was wrong it should be Fujitora at 4, Kizaru 3, Garp 2, and Akainu 1. Garp however even though he is weaker overall with his old age compared to prime, he still has incredible strength and speed, better BIQ with more experience, and his elite haki mastery that still lets him do amazingly potent and destructive attacks as well. This is why he gave a good fight against Aokiji and how he was able to adapt to the BB pirates coming at him later on. Even in old age can still give good fights to the top tiers of today
Honestly, I personally feel that Garp is over Akainu because of the fact that Garp was man handling the bb pirates until Koby made a stupid move
Marineford garp would scale higher than akainu, but if it's timeskip garp then yeah akainu is stronger

MF Akainu was weaker back then but then Akainu had his awakening against Aokiji and has been more powerful since then. Garp back then though against that version of Akainu would have brutalized him and give a beatdown like WB did to Akainu but even more so since he isn’t held back by sickness like MF WB
true, aokiji wasnt using his full power and was still able to contend with garp. it wouldnt make much sense if akainu would lose to 80 year old garp, maybe in marineford garp was stronger but after akainu fought aokiji he would have gotten stronger and most likely had an awakening
