Wasn't a rumour; the original 1960's book about TVC said the roofs of the studios were covered in asbestos tiles (can't find the book, but here's a link to someone who has it: www.tvstudiohistory.co.uk/tv%20centre%20history.htm). They spent years removing or encapsulating it, so didn't feel that worried.
Someone is fit.......thanks for the effort....we, who paid for it over the years are very sad even if three studios will be saved......

@@feyip That's what I'd heard as well, certainly Ealing Stages had their roofs insulated with old Nitrate Film which would have been 'interesting'.
