    Jamie is the face of a strong , determined women who,despite any personal challenges, preservered as she did in this talk. .I quit drinking almost 6 months ago and it completely changed my life for the better..I wish I had the courage she has/had to to get up on that stage in front of so many people to tell my life story too...great job fighting for women, against personal demons and becoming a better person that you approve of , im sure your mom is happy🙂

    Thank You! I spent the last three years working on a bill (SB22-085) that protects Children in Colorado. The House and the Senate unanimously voted yes, but sadly the bill died in approbations. This was crushing blow to my purpose and my personal finances. Thanks helping me reset, I’m inspired by your strength.

    I remember our time at Penn State -- and you have a determined, unique and wonderful spirit. It is so amazing to see you shift and reclaim yourself and encourage and motivate others to do the same. I'm so proud and happy for you, for your sharing your journey

    You’re inspiration on that day was felt far and wide. I’m in Sheffield and worked for a church on the day of the vigil. The Sheffield one was also forbidden so I contacted the Women’s Equality Part and offered our church building for the vigil as it was then legal to open churches for ‘quiet prayer and reflection’. Giving people a space for their grief, irrespective of their faith or if they even had one was an honour so thank you for challenging us all to make a stand.

    I'm sorry but the whole fighting the power thing made no sense. Given that they simply wanted people to be safe by followjng covid protocols.
    While I aplaud your achievements and ttiumphs that bit about holding a public gathering still irked me due to the possibility of the dangers and possible consequences of a potential outbreak.
    Having witness many friends losing their loved ones due to covid due to outbreaks caused by large gatherings within my very own nation, I find that part of the story irresponsible at best.
    There are many ways to hold a gathering without the need for close physical proximities that couldve easily gotten the message across without the need for such consequences.
    I apologise if I sounded insensitive to the demise of an individual. I do feel deeply and sympathise with the affected parties.
    That said, physical gatherings are arguably irresponsible to put it mildly, given that state of the world at that time and the recognised facts about covid and the recognised ways in which to deal with them at the time of the occurence and events that unfolded.

    i really liked the talk until it hit me that indeed it is illegal to have large meetings during the covid restriction in order for everyone to be safe. can someone explain it to me? i am confused.

      In Europe, the pandemic is very much under control and most safety measures have been lifted. I'm sure that will change again in the fall, when bad weather will help spread the virus again, but right now, life is pretty much back to normal.

    • @anoukduboisbe
      @anoukduboisbe 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm assuming of course, you are not in Europe. Apologies if I'm wrong :)

    • @Timefairyjina
      @Timefairyjina 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your reply but I lived in Paris when the pandemic erupted and I have experienced the European lockdown. The assembly mentioned in the video is assumed to have been held during 2021, ain’t it? Btw I live in Korea now and Pandemic is and was controlled very well here too, in case you didn’t know. ;)

    • @anoukduboisbe
      @anoukduboisbe 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Timefairyjina It took place last month, so after most of the restrictions were lifted. And wow, that's Paris and Korea in close succession, you sound like quite the traveller. I'm only a little jealous ;)

    • @Timefairyjina
      @Timefairyjina 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@anoukduboisbe haha no need to be… haven’t travelled for years 🥲. I rewatched the video and it sounds like the assembly was held right after the tragic incident…which is 2021. The anger and rage part makes more sense if it is 2021. I hope it is 2022, because I loved the talk so much that I translated into my language and then I had this thought so it’s kept on held to be posted. Anyways, thanks for your time and concern :)) have a good day !

    TL;DR:
    "Look at what I achieved & how awesome I am."
    And if you ask me, egocentric beings that are even proud of how they ignored the pandemic safety regulations should not be be given a stage.
    This was the single most meaningless ted talk I've ever seen. Nothing but bragging and almost crying.
