Well, I purchased these today , size 9 , polished it with a dark brown polish and it looks better than the original color. The one with a yellow line is S3 and not SB. With S3 its a steel plate in the sole apart from steel toe which you have.And yes these look awesome with smart casuals..
No man don't throw old boots away, a tube of cheap glue is $3 here in California. Use it for gardening, yeah they're still in good condition.

@@joséortiz-o3n they tent to be on the hot side, as per any leather boot, but i live in the UK so is not the Mediterranean heat nor the tropical heat. Saying that i opt for another foot ware if i feel is too hot, but never more than 1 or 2 months in the whole year.

Good info thanks for sharing, and i was an electrician too few years back so i can understand how some workplaces can be harsh. One question did you buy these from a legit seller? As i learned from all the replies here apparently there's fakes/copies of these boots. I was unaware of this before doing the video. But I have to agree that if you use these in harsh environment (building site, cement, sharp debris) they can be delicate, I see them more as a inbetween trade shoes for engineers who go to the site but don't do the heavy manual work or like me drivers of busses. Coaches or lorries who need a sturdy shoe, with all the specification for health and safety but not as heavy duty and clearly visible working site shoe.

Great boots, I bought same ones (brown, not black) way back in 2013, held superwell through the years, I just but 2 pairs today, one black like in the video, and a brown one. I bought other brands in between and definitely CAT boots (especially these ones, really are great!) are better.

I bought these as well couple of weeks ago. I would suggest in your line of work the colorados would be a better fit. I own both but the colorado is my fav and lighter. but I would understand how the metal plate can help in supporting your feet in clutching on manual transmission vehicles. I wonder why so many people on reddit do not recommend cat shoes.
thanks for watching and for the moment, I agree but I just love a heavy boot on my feet, I'm old school like I like a heavy watch lol but you are right I guess they have not got the fame that timberland or doctor Martin have. I say we are better off for now at least we don't pay more for less quality like on big names.
Bro Colorado vs holton which one is better and durable (for casual wear not working)
@@LauraLasan69 the holton is more durable but heavier. however it does maintain it's shape over time and looks a bit bigger. colorado is a great all around boot but all season. if you want something casual, light and durable go with the CAT leather founder edition. I have that to and it's a very good boot for walking
@@Andrewolf79 I have been abusing the colorado quite alot recently, even washing it and stripping the leather multiple times. heating it, and reshaping the toe box. interestingly all the CAT boots I own, the one that have soft toe can be restored into their original shape by applying heat with a heat gun toward the toe box and then keeping your leg bent and shaping it with your hands to get back the " raised look" this is very interesting. unlike the holton some CAT shoes don't come with an insert insole. by default you are suppose to buy a suitable insole. people on reddit do not do that and then they are surprised that the sole base is wearing off.

Good question.. I always had the holton style so i can't comment on Colorado fit and performance but my guess is all about looks.. Fit and quality I very much doubt they would he different.

That’s a beautiful pair of boots. Just a question, you said that the yellow line means that there is a layer that protects from screws and nails but in the description you wrote “no protective midsole”. Is that right?
They look exactly the same as my Dunlop Nevada's exactly the same sole, 35 quid 🤷♂
never owned these specific model but have tried the Alaskans and have had many pairs of the cat assualts which are discontinued now but were a fantastic work boot. im a flooring contractor and for a sort of cheap work boot i have had pretty

They are water tight not water proof, I've walked in rain, snow and light mud. It's still a leater shoe.

@@TheSydorov I live in London so i get loads of rainy days and every day I walk to and back from work for about 5miles so in this time and distance yes they work well. Don't forget to polish them once a week that helps with the water repellent.

Good question this is the edition with a plate under and shock proofing on the hill hence why the yellow line on the hill.

Just take the old ones to a shoe repair guy. I have had a pair of stocktons for almost 10 years now and had them retredded twice
For me they are tarible i just got them n the spunge on the top 8s 2 thick it literally hurts tot walk

@@Andrewolf79 boots 10 hours a day for 11 years , i fixed them , i cut the shoe up from top of that spunge exactly on the stitching and was i suprised to see there is 2 layers of foam isolation n 2 of spunge , literally double as thick as on any other shoe i had beofre , so i just remove the 2 layers of green spunge fyom middle and left 2 layers of yellow foam that r glued to the leater , now they r much better n i feel no pain once more , i will keep wearing them .

really good boots .used these in brown steel toe for 2 years in various construction sites. i am now resouling those boots. and will try to stretch another year out of them.

I have been using these for the last 11years and I'm a London bus driver so I can tell you they a fit for the job.
Bought a pair of these, they are the worse pair of work boots that I ever owned. They were good the first day out the box by week two sole was coming apart along with stitching on leather. Sole becomes hard and uncomfortable. I didn’t even donate them I just threw them away. I now wear on Timberland Pro boots which are the best investment in work boots that I have ever made.
Interesting are these the one u bought? The Timberland Pro Safety Euro Hiker Boot Black TIMBERLAND PRO Safety Euro Hiker Boot Black ref.EN ISO 20345:2011 i've been looking At them for some time!! Not sure if to go for them cos they really look like hiking boots, can you do a review on them? and what went wrong with the CAT you had? can you be more specific? How did you use them, in what environment and if only after 2 weeks Why not return them to the shop? they have a really good warranty service unless they where not legit in that case..... where did you buy them?
I do wonder what the UK, AUST military wear given for the ginormous amount of walking and on rough terrain, if ever there is a profession that requires quality footwear, its the military. They may be constrained by budget vs potentially more expensive comfort and longevity.
not sure what they have as standard but if is anything like the Italian army its al crap, we had crap walking boots when i served... so the most i have seen in police and army force here in the UK patrolling the airports and stuff is the HAIX as preferred choice.. if it was me even Lowa is a really good make.
