man i really enjoyed this video and learn a lot from it. I had my first playthrough yesterday, mi character was incarcerated 2 times, major offenses i don`t recall haha, both times he was intended to die (rolled a six, straight to the executioner) but i cheated both times and escaped (guards in a town and cultists on a temple). It was when he got incarcerated a third time that i decided i wouldn`t keep cheating to save such a criminal. God i want to make a game like this with my illustrations now.
@@glowingturtle9673 wow man, so cool! i was just learning about The Drifter! sadly language is a big barrier and I`m the only one who enjoys reading in english at home. BP had a spanish translation and i designed some visual stuff fo it to hook the folks at home. I would love to develop something with less dice, a smaller map and more narrative focus. already designed some characters. Will be checking the drifter as soon as possible!.
I downloaded the map and manuals so I can play this great game again. I remember the 1980s when I had this game. I coded a BASIC program on my Commodore 64 to be a game aid to save me time when playing. I plan to print the maps and manuals and play this game again, too bad I don't have the time, or a Commodore 64, to program another game aid, but I'll love it just the same.
Hello, so I'm trying to play this on Vassal. I'm confused by river crossings though. From your play through I take it that if you are trying to cross a river, you roll the Lost roll on the river table instead of the terrain you are in (as would if you were trying to leave the hex into an adjecent hex not across a river)? When I first read the rules I thought you would have to make two rolls (one to not get lost in the terrain you are in and then one on the river crossing).
It’s not you.🙂. There is a couple of minutes where the audio messed up during the upload. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the original clips so it couldn’t be fixed. I mark where the error occurs below the video.
Nice mood, very enjoyable. Thanks.
happy to have found this, looks fun.
My favorite Dwarfstar game was Star Smuggler. I downloaded a copy of this game. I wasn't as lucky as you during play. It was fun though.
Love your video style!
it should be remade in the same vein as Barbarian Vince!

It’s a classic! I was also inspired to make a game like this (The Drifter)! Glad you enjoyed it! Take care.

Hey James, yes, you would roll on seeing if you are lost in your current terrain and then if you are not lost, roll on the River table.
Delicious.....gameplay
At around 15 minutes, the sound restarts at the beginig of the video but the image keeps on going. You may wanna check that.

@@glowingturtle9673 The issue remains 🥺
@@leokhorn unfortunately, the master recording has been deleted so I am unable to edit it. I have places a disclaimer in the write up.
@@glowingturtle9673 Thanks for the timestamp, I didn't know it went back to normal after a while! I'll be able to keep watching, yay!
is it just me or does the audio keep dropping out in this video?

Yes, sound restarts. That’s a shame. Video quality is good though.
Holy Kats. I got this on a vacation when I was 12. Still have it.
