So glad you are safe! I had an huge oak tree uprooted in my front yard. Praise God it fell onto my driveway and the road instead of on my home. One window was blown out of an upstairs window and my storm door on the back of house was blown out. My power was out for six days! Prayers for everyone that was affected by this Hurricane! My heart hurts for those in Asheville NC.
@@simplyblair thank you! Yes, this is so very sad and I pray every night for those affected! North Carolina is in need of many prayers! I just can’t imagine or believe the videos of the things taking place there.
I got my first ever Hourglass palette this year. I picked up the Dragon with Ulta points, because I can’t justify $90 otherwise 😅 but it’s very pretty and I’m happy I got it.
Same, except Sephora employee discount. 😂 $56 instead of $106 made me breathe a sigh of relief lol I picked up evil eye but wish it had the dragon packaging
I have just got the Dior foundation and love it. I use it in 2N, which is a great shade for me. I apply little and blend it in with my fingers. I have mature skin and I love how it makes my skin look and it lasts a long time.
I'm happy to hear that your Sephora event wasn't canceled! How fantastic it must be to attend a master class with Mario. Looking forward to hearing the tips that you learned. I love the way Lisa Eldridge liquid eyeshadows look and can't wait to get one. P. S., I pick up the NYX brow shadow stick and absolutely love it, thanks for the review! 😊
Thank you for your LE review. I was searching for the longest time trying to find a good tutorial/application video but everyone is so heavy handed. Yours if the only one I could find where it was applied in a realistic, daily wear sort of way. You helped me to decided between the two liquid silks as well. Have you tried the liquid lurex? Very curious about those as well due to the promise of long wear time but unsure on just how sparkly they are. (I like a bit of sparkle but not too much)
Hi Blair, This is very first time commenting here. I just love youe contents and your personality over all 😊 🧡. I am so glad to know you and family are doing fine after Hurricane Helene. About Dior foundation stick, i am 50 and don’t wear foundations much. i use skin tints mainly. But I love this Dior stick. Its very lightweight and love the natural finish on my light-medium neutral skin tone. Love it!! I also use Fenty stick too sometimes and you are right that both of these stcks feel very similar. I love both of them. Dior is less glowy than Fenty one on my skin and i appreciate that.
I'm so glad youre safe and sound at home, with power and everything! Its been so hard for so many, it makes my heart hurt. You made a beautiful look today although everything always looks beautiful on you.
I’m looking forward to your Mario tutorial. I am very tempted by the LE liquid shadows. I already bought the Hourglass Evil Eye palette. I used up some points and a discount.
So happy you are safe and home again. I bought the Dior stick foundation and the color I chose was not right for me. I’m interested in the Hourglass palette but it definitely pulls warm on you and I’m more cool toned than you.
You might like the actual Evil Eye palette! She has the Dragon palette in the Evil Eye packaging, but the Evil Eye color story (2) has a more neutral/cool color story with a pink and coral blush, whereas the Dragon is peachy/warm. I'm cool-toned and love my Evil Eye palette! Wear it all the time.
I found the Dior stick to emphasize pores that aren’t normally visible. This happens with some products, typically more silicone-y ones. It’s very weird but also terribly unflattering! Adding extra moisture/prep before hand doesn’t seem to fix the problem either. Thankfully I don’t have this issue with either the Fenty Eaze stick or the Westman Atelier one, but I’m bummed because I wanted to love this one too. FWIW, I have normal to dry, mature skin.
I have the same experience as you have, with the emphasized pores unfortunately. Really wanted to love that one too. Now testing out the Fenty one. Witch one of the Fenty and the Westman Atelier do you prefer? I find the shade 3 in Fenty to be a tiny bit too yellow, but the formula is lovely.
@@karolinetommer I bought a new Westman in the sale today and the consistency feels entirely different than the original stick. I can't recommend it anymore sadly. It's chalky and the color is even different.
I love the eyeshadow palette and the liquid shadow looks fantastic! The lightest brown in the palette is a good crease shade for me to have in my crease arsenal lol. The Dior foundation stick is nice but it doesn’t apply well if I swipe the stick on my face. It ends up too heavy and doesn’t wear well for me. I used a dense brush to apply it (thanks for mentioning the 109; it’s one I always forget about but will work well for this foundation!) and that really helped.
I really want to try just picking the product up with the 109 and applying it that way next time! & yes, the LE brow shade is the perfect crease color 😊
So glad you are safe and life is getting back to normal for you! I got the Dior stick foundation snd really like it…love the finish and prefer it to the Tom Ford. I’m shocked (but also not shocked 😂) that you got the Hourglass palette! I got the middle color story and like it but don’t love it. I also got the new four pan Dream Edit palette and like that one better…much softer overall! Trying very hard to hold off on the Lisa Eldridge liquid shadows but not sure I will because they look fabulous! Thank you for sharing your wear notes. Very helpful. You’re the best!
I tried this and didn't like the way it looked when 1st applied, yet after it sat awhile it looked a bit better. I did end up returning it, I just prefer my liquid foundations..
Very glad you're okay. We lucked out at my house in Atlanta. So sad for those who didn't-- so upsetting and terrible. Have you tried the Lancôme stick? I really love it bc it provides pretty coverage without feeling it on my skin. But I'm soooo tempted by this Dior stick. Is it sticky? Can you feel it on your face while wearing?
Glad y’all made it through Helene unscathed! Our area was hit pretty hard, so we’re on day 9 without power (I’m using my phone as a hot spot). Dominion is estimating between Sunday and Wednesday 😭 But, I keep reminding myself that we’re more fortunate than others and trying my hardest to be patient 😅 I KNEW you were going to get that Hourglass pallet 😂. I love the new peach color, but I’m hoping it’s released as a single- if not, that’s okay. Stay well 🙂💛
I missed u girl happy that u n ur family are safe❤ Do u find Lisa products really worth it and her lipsticks? I’m ordering internationally so I’m a bit hesitant 😅 tho they look gorgeous online
I really want to try that foundation❤ I heard that it was very emollient (so I need to watch my moisturizer application before using it… I have a tendency to use a lot of moisturizer just because I get so dry during the day.)Which do you like better?? The Fenty or the Dior?? Just curious… I have the Fenty one already and I wasn’t overly WOWed by it… I don’t dislike it, just not something I thought was amazing🤷♀️
I definitely prefer the Dior over the Fenty. The Dior wears much better on my skin. I didn’t hate the Fenty stick, but I did find it was a little too emollient for me!
0:02 Blair, my 2 favorite purchases this year are the Hourglass pallette and Dior stick.😅They both are perfect for old skin like mine😂. I haven't tried LE yet, something about her colors don't attract me, your eye look is Beautiful! I'm so glad your safe.🙏
I started to wonder if I am applying it wrong or if my skin is just not great for Hourglass. This is the second time I bought a palett (snake last year, evil eye this year) and gave it away shortly after. Somehow these powders just sit on my face, are super visible, don't blend into my skin and really show all my little texture. 😅 This doesn't happen with anything else I use, so I am just giving up now.
Maybe it’s just me but I feel like primers are one of the biggest scams in the beauty industry. I’ve never met a primer that significantly changed my makeup for the better with any kind of lasting effect. Even the ones that smooth and blur mostly lose that effect once you put the foundation over top, at least in my experience. I enjoyed this video. I would love to try those liquid shadows!
I felt the same way about primers for a long time, but I found a couple that work really well for me. The Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Hydrating primer works with every single foundation and tinted moisturizer I’ve tried it with. And the Supergoop Unseen sunscreen primer works with most silicone based foundations I’ve tried. I live in a very hot area where the humidity can be bad, so a good primer, setting powder and setting spray make a big difference for me.
Is there a shade of the Mario lipliner that's close or similar to anywhere caffeine? I like the kinda brownish tones like that and I have been wanting to try the Mario formula but they literally carry like 3 shades in my crappy Kohl's Sephora and they were all pinky red type shades.
I was getting a little concerned also. Your instructions and descriptions are amazing, Nikki La Rose, Lexi Jong and Martina are good but not many other content creators are like “ here, this is what it is” plain and simple. I’m interested in makeup but not interested in being sold a bunch of crap. Thank you for you review on the Armani lip glosses I still have the HG palettes from last year and they are barely used so I’m not going back for more this year. Ive been a fan of Lisa Eldridge for years, she is amazing and her products are worth the money. Again, glad you are safe and sound at home.
I totally forgot u moved to inland SC . I am so sorry. I'm praying for all the victims of this horrible tragedy. Excited to see a new makeup video from u. I actually have been thinking about getting the Dior bronzer sticks and foundation stick but I don't really wear foundation so idk . I can't believe u bought another Hourglass pallet 😂 that's funny. I skipped these but thinking about getting the Barney's x hourglass number 3 pallet . I have been trying to be smart about my purchases with all these releases coming out and holiday it's so easy to get swept in the madness when your a beauty lover this time of year. U look amazing as always.
Mario's masterclass is on Sephora's TH-cam channel. It is amazing--i learned so much!! ❤❤❤ I wanted so much to go to Sephoria. I live about an hour outside of Atlanta and it would've been so close! Unfortunately, tickets sold out the day before payday when i could buy mine. 😢 I would love to hear all about your experience and what it was like. i dont understand the difference between a lot of setting powders (that are extremely light and a little luminous) out rn and "finishing powders" can someone explian lmao
I’m no expert, but I think a true setting powder is to keep the makeup in place/mattify certain areas. Finishing powders go over the top of the setting powder (or the whole makeup look once it’s done) to bring a little life back to the skin & marry everything together! Or at least that’s how I understand it lol
I am over 70 and love the Dior Stick. It drys down completely with light coverage. Highly recommend for more mature skin.
