JT: "Nick, never splitfire."
Also JT, shoots at atleast 3 different greater daemons per turn.
Never said using the right gun for the right target was bad ;) I did get greedy with the firedragons however at that point it felt necessary
@@jtmcdowell2331 hi Mr JT. If you see this, I would love to see more drukhari. Love you!
@@jtmcdowell2331 I think also the dices betray you way more than they should and Nick saves were way too good.
Those greater demons should have been at least half HPs between the first and second turn. Your play was impeccable. The dices were the real culprit today.
The lesson I learned today : Never dont shoot Be'lakor.
The youngest model in JT's army is probably old enough to vote at this point
"The dice. He can't keep rolling like this, can he?"
*match is under 40min*
Uh-oh
Damn that was brutal AF. Almost wish the dice weren't so extreme so we could have seen more tactical play.
amen to that. Entertaining in a sense but also kinda boring with how one-sided it was
It is rough when the dice are so unbalanced.
I don't think it was the dice personally. Nick played better, JT made a lot of positioning mistake. I would too, the art of war guys are in another league, their life revolves around competitive 40k.
Homie actually brought two greater demons, Kairos, and Be’lakor. Going for the throat with that list, that’s a lot of raw power
That Aeldari list needs to face daemons with a daemon of their own. Where’s The Avatar of Khaine?
Nick and the Art of Wars guys really know their stuff. Pleasure to watch
I am 1:30 minutes in the video and I already know who’s gonna win based on that demons list 😊
These videos and your enthusiam really gets me out of some dark places at times. Thank you.
OMGFTW !!! Nick is here. The myth the man the legend. I started learning competitive 40k watching his videos. What a collab, what a treat. JT and his eldar finally. Give this demons what they deserve man.
@@Devianreal so glad you enjoyed the match and have been a long time fan! That is amazing!
@@ArtofWar40k I watch battle reports, datasheet reviews, tier lists etc on ArtofWar40k for really quiet a while. PlayOn + Artof40k in this cinematic format is amazing thing to see. Eldars got stomped. Watching Sisters of battle datasheet review on your channel rn. Having back thoughts on collecting penitent host haha.
@@ArtofWar40kecho as well that you were the first channel that got me interested in competitive play and went to my first RTT this year and plan on going to my first GT here in Florida soon!
So great seeing you in the Play On studio playing Daemons!
That was brutal. Happy to see my beloved Daemons slapping elves like they owe them money. Great game.
Wow, "Art of war" is on "Play On", I'm so happy lol.
JT got annihilated not on the scoreboard but the actual board itself to. Holy crap
Amazing!! Didn't see this collaboration happening. Nick is a great player and art of war is an amazing channel. My two favorite 40k channels collide haha.
Nice game, but as JT said he was the underdog with that list at the outset. I don’t know if I’d call that Eldar list “competitive”. Beautiful army though.
Great high level Guest Star, gj taking him on the channel. bring some WTC Canada team in the future too! we want to know them / their game. GG as always
The one time I’m actually on the side of the Eldar. lol
Jt, the voice of the heavens………..just leave the world bro! Chaos wants it 😂😂😂😂❤️
Sometimes you really just like a planet and don't want to leave
aww yes, Play on Tabletop coming to heighten the day!
Best batreps on the internet 👌
Did someone randomly place Steve dice in some of JT's stuff!? Gotta be the case with those fate die rolls.
Love the Cyan and Yellow Aldari paint scheme
Don’t know which to cheer for. I love chaos but that is a epic paint job on the eldar
Fantastic battle and love to see daemons. Recently swapped to daemons from death guard due to the greater daemons becoming strong! Truly fun to march them big boys up the board
4+ Invulnerable saves and enormous models that are impossible to kill. Gives me flashbacks to 9th edition.
I feel like JT needs more than a few bright lances and a d cannon if he is going into 4 greater Deamons. My friend will be asking where Kaine and 2 fire prisms
I think JT needs Space Marine Steve to come over and "bless" Nick's dice.
I knew it was bad from the jump…. Loved it!
Like how can the demons have that many big baddies in one army?!
Don’t think the lists were really fighting fire with fire so to speak. JT probably could have won but went for a strat that relied on killing things and when they just didn’t die he was in bad spots and just got mopped up. Was always the underdog for sure but an amazingly painted army and still a great game to watch.
Also these eldar losses are doing us lots of favours to stop people hating on them for being broken and OP 😉 haha.
Nick Nanavarti....that's a name I haven't heard since his Knights of the Game table days....
I’ve been producing content for Art of War!
@@ArtofWar40k Very cool! I'm gonna need to go check that out!
2:40 such beauty! What a paint job.
Kairos has to be one of my favourite daemons in the lore, second only to Skarbrand
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!
SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!
Kinda surprised JT doesn't use models like Khaine or the Yncarne. Teleporting out to replace a destroyed unit can be fatal for your opponent if that happens, and halving all damage would be super helpful in a fight like this
Yeess, love me some more Daeomons action!
Yessss!! Keep the chaos coming!!!!
In games like this where it ended up one sided due to the dice gods, it’s always nice to set little goals on what you want to kill when you know you’ve lost.
It was nice of JT to stop by for a brief visit to see Nick, since that is his house now after that game.
I'm wondering if we will ever see a Grey Knights game at some point for this edition , it would be awesome but I don't think anyone on the channel plays them
24:33 The moment when you say it's OK but everyone knows it's not...
or the
Belakor: Give in to your anger. With each passing moment you make yourself more my servant... ;p
Daemons in the house, KAIROS FATEWEAVER LETS GO!
JT either needs to get some new dice, or rebrand to 40k in 30 minutes..
These last two fights have been BRUTAL
40K in 30min were the old days
He needs to go back to playing Orks. He rolled like crazy when he was playing them!
Good game. Brutal as all Hell but amazing to watch.
I like this Nick, can we keep him?
We tried, he said something about having to go back to Florida
This game brought to you by Gav Thorpe.
Like... holy shit! I haven't seen such a shutout on the channel since that World Eaters match last time, and it wasn't nearly as bad as this!
When dice are hot they're on fire. And that burning chariot took that literally.
Wants cleanse all eldar off the planet? Well Nick has my vote
(beside the part i've played daemons probably most, happy to seem 'em here, having Nick play them is a great plus)
Nick is always a treat to watch !!!
Its been YEARs since I seen an Aeldari army like that, and infact last time I seen an Aeldar Tank was in Eternal Crusade (good bless his soul) in 2018 😭
I love these battles. Well played!
The emporium a man and demons of care of the team of worth
Florida Man would be Daemons! Lmao! Great report!
My army eldar vs my [potential] second army deamons? Wow, who'da thunk it? RIP eldar but was fun to see!
Nick and his demons treated still Eldar better than Black Library authors do
That was a quick game.
Yeah...that demon army is hard-core
Chaos, taking the blood for the blood god absolutely destroyed the aeldari
Did they proxy skulltaker for a bloodmaster? I keep seeing the skulltakers cape with the bloodletters.
@24:17 the word "Five" was not what I was anticipating with that "F" sound.
where did you guys get the counters for wounds ?
Just goes to show you, you could stick your entire army in the middle of the board and still win if the dice rolls are in your favor
This was a great example of putting a shooting army within charge distance, and having horrible target priorities.
Can greater demons deep strike like they are in the shadow as theyre always in their own shadow ?
Jeez JD need more some super firepower
I don't want to sound rude, but Nick was perfect while roleplaying as Be'lakor.
Even outside of tabletop game the light was much weaker than that one on JT
Another entertaining episode, but Aldari really needed the nerfs they dominated too long.
Beautiful armies
can eldar change dice to fate dice AFTER rolling? i thought you have to do it before rolling
they can change after the first reroll from either command or detachment rule. Enhancement fates messenger on Jester can change it after he rolled, even after reroll
Throw the towel throw the damn towel
Yall crush content, what is the secret? how do you guys keep all this up?!
Hey I have a question. What is that music you're using for Chaos turn 1? Is it house music?
Funny game, but obviously very one sided. JT is such a jewel though, and nice seeing AoW on the channel
Time for a Ynnari rematch. Burn these pesky demons!
Fun game!
What kind of sacrifice did he make to the dice god?
I have to say, I think important to have it in there to show games where 1 side just brutalizes the other; tell dice stories, after all...
BUT
It feels appropriate to maybe "rerack" such one-sided games and reset for (hopefully) a more balanced experience. I'm glad your guest took a dub away, but as an audience member it was very much a "oh, hes just gonna win now." Kind of thing for me.
Jesus JT got absolutely bullied like an infant. Kinda hurt to watch. Well done AoW.
brutal but cunning :D
The territory where did the emperor of man and demerit of chaos
You did rig the dice right?.....right?
I´m not an Aeldari fan in either way - but this episode was over after 10-15 minutes. I ended up fast forwarding through the whole video after that, which I usually don´t do. I´d greatly apprechiate it if you had somewhat evenly matched armies - it makes way much more interesting videos (and battles) to watch. This was nothing more than a bloodbath, and it was over even before it began.
We do try. But sometimes it doesn't work out that way. But we will continue to try and do it better next time
Sometimes, the dice are unfair, but players like JT make it fun to watch with their reactions.
He is playing a member of the national team of the usa. A top level pro. People shpuld have known what to expect from this. Everyone is talking about the dice here but there was some real skill on display that allowed the dice to do so.
@@PlayOnTabletop People always want to see a close game.
But when you get games like this, I mean, it happens. Luck, the dice, whatever factor that happens to get this result, its just how it happens sometimes.
Not everything can be close and tight.
@PlayOnTabletop you guys are top tier. For me, I say, keep punching out the fights when they are like this. This stuff happens, and like you guys and your players say, there is always much to learn in defeat than winning. And I am sure JT will come back with a vengeance in his next match.
@@TheHinni1234 What was his "brilliant" strategy? He just put a blob of huge demons together and advanced brainlessly... I only see unbalanced armies and dice luck here.
War walker with missile launchers? Never got a shot off with the d cannon? It just looks like when you have guests you let them win
honest question on how to handle games like this, I attended my first tournament last week and had a horribly bad matchup (my chaos knights into voltan with no effective cover for my guys) and the game felt over turn 2 and frankly I was borderline going to pack up (it was the last game of the day) any tips on how to mentally do better and make games like this still feel fun for both my opponent and myself.
I mean part of that sounds like a terrain issue. A tournament table should have enough terrain for effective cover, especially with Knights new ability to shoulder barge through walls.
In terms of handling a game like that. I had a game at my last tournament where I did really well with my Dread Mob game 1 and ran right into a 5 Demolisher Cannon Guard list, that game was literally over by turn 2 but we had a good laugh about how absurd it was
@scottdevnull5778 You're in a competitive setting, so there's always gonna be a little bit more pressure. To try to help yourself when you feel you're going a little on tilt, try to remember you're still there to play a game, enjoy your hobby. It's not just a simple game, it's one with dice someday the chaos gods just aren't on your side.
And to keep it fun, try to figure out what's fun for you. Maybe you like to roll dice so you can just say screw objectives im just gonna shoot and fight. Or maybe you can just try having a conversation with your opponent, take the edge of the match. And maybe sometimes when the opponent isn't working with you, you're not enjoying yourself, you just wanna go home. Maybe then it's ok to just say "I'm sorry, I'm not winning this match and I'm tired so you got this well played"
@@richarddrost5737 thanks for the reply
Godspeed, all.
For those unaware, Nick is one of the best 40k players in North America. JT did awesome all things considered. ( A.K.A the dice said no.)
Mr "Kill it til it's dead" decides to instead "Split fire to victory." How does it work out for him? About as well as you'd expect.
Right? Bahahahaha
Nick rolls like crap, JT jokes on him, the dice teach JT a lesson. :D hahahaha.
So i dont play 40k, and I know we are on 10e rules now and Ive beeen binging Play On, is there no more psychic phase in 10e??
Nope, psychic powers are either guns or data sheet abilities.
@@Dementia55372 Oh damn, that's a huge change.
Not anaming any names, but someone may have made a dark pact to roll as they did
2 fate dice for saves in the first turn!?
Me at the start of the video: JT is going to get stomped
I saw it coming but damn.
Chaos!
Fun game, but I would say that the elder list was not very competitive. Kind of hard to see it’s goal for me 🤷♂️
Good to see Daemons on the channel, but that list was way too sweaty. The game was lost before it even started.
I love this channel, but I do have a question. Why does JT wear a hat that says Dj?
That's my son's hat from when I coached him.
Sent you guys an email during your live stream 4 days ago i dont know if it went to your spam folder or not, but havent heard anything so i figured id reach out on your next video lol
I feel like people here arnt really appreciating the fact that this wasn't just dice. Nick is really damn good in this game and set things up so the fice could roll away with it. No offence to JD im not saying he is bad at all, but he was going against a pro. You can learn alot from a curbstomp game like this.
At about 10min JT uses a second gate dice this phase… I thought Eldar was allowed one use of fate dice per phase?
Second fate dice that turn, one in shooting, one in combat - which is allowed since shooting and combat are different phases
@@alsu6886 thanks I’m must have missed the change in phases
I tried calculating the Daemon army and it seems like it's over 2,000 points. Am I wrong?
That was horrendous
