To be particular, this is Lynnwood Farnam's Toccata on "O fili, et filiae".

I don't think it is exact. Stephen had not planned to play it at all. He just did it, with no score at all to reference. Only what was in his head. I believe there are some slight variations from the actual score. Gosh if I could remember such a work with slight variations. Stephen Tharp is a bloody genius. But then again, he played the entire Rite of Spring from memory - seeing the orchestra score in his head. What a gift he has - and he works at it every day. Genius with a work ethic!

It was barely working for this recording. Stephen Tharp was brilliant in what stops he did not use. James Konzelman also worked his butt off in a cold church to try his best to get an organ that was barely working to sound Ok for this recording - not good conditions for a recording - but it had to be done. It was removed to Alliance Ohio 3 days after.

It doesn't say in the video title or description, but after playing the 'O Filii' theme, Tharp continues on to play Lynnwood Farnam's Toccata on same theme. The score is on the IMSLP website: imslp.org/wiki/Toccata_on_'O_filii_et_fili%C3%A6'_(Farnam%2C_Lynnwood)

An overly dramatic interpretation based on the score but nevertheless an incredible choice for an Easter Sunday Prelude.

Could use some pretty major noise reduction. It makes it hard to enjoy. It's like road noise dampening the experience of music in a car.

The organ was removed for restoration from the church 3 days after this recording. The organ technician Jim Konzelman and organist Stephen Tharp did their best to make the instrument sound sort or OK. This is what the organ sounded like after the restoration th-cam.com/video/vP_BSzY3GRk/w-d-xo.html

Ther is no organ in NYC with a real 64 foot. That length stop is not needed

I believe he’s talking about the boardwalk hall organ in New Jersey.
