As a BraunAbilty MSE master tech the total cost for Explorer and conversion can go from 50k to as much as 80k depending on factory options and mobility options but modifications can range depending on the individual needs and the quality of the equipment. As an 8 yrs experienced tech I HIGHLY recommend quality equipment. Hand controls, Sure Grip offers a highly dependable hand control. Both mechanical and electronic throttle (if quality installed) fit really nice in the MXV. I do not recommend MPD 3500 unless a different mounting bracket is designed. Sure Grip designer Keith Howell is the very last disabled owner of a mobility company since Ralph Braun's passed away years back. B&D independence transfer seat is the top choice in seating options.
Marie Wilson; I went to one of those dealerships to see about one of those vehicles and they told me that they wanted $95,000 for if and they asked me did I have at least $30,000 to put down on it.
I just would like to know one thing. How would a person in a wheelchair be able to afford a suv like this? The seat alone cost over $9,000.. Are there banks willing to help someone in a wheelchair to get one of these? If not, this product as cool as it is.. Isn't going to sell well at all. If at all.
This is the program we have to help with financing for people in Indiana: www.eastersealstech.com/our-services/assistive-technology-funding/ If you are in a different state you can check here: www.at3center.net/stateprogram Also, here is a funding guide we put together that might provide a resource: indatamisc.s3.amazonaws.com/Funding_Source_document_100820_TAGGED.pdf
car manufacturers need to just start building cars for disabled people as well so their "normal" cars arent destroyed and only the wheelchair user can be in the car. what if they have people who want to come with them? are they suppose to sit in the rear seat of the car?

You got a lot of great things in there but tell me someone's wheelchair user what happens to the wheelchair after the person gets into the driving seat where you put that wheelchair because I don't want it flying around the cab if I have to come to a stop because some idiot pulls out in front of me and didn't see me so where do you buckle down that wheelchair
You would need to reach out to them to find out the costs: www.braunability.com/us/en/blog/mobility-solutions/5-questions-you-may-have-about-the-braunability-wheelchair-accessible-suv.html
The build and assembly quality seems rather amateurish...if you are going to try and sell a product like this...maybe focus on not having such a clumsy looking control for the transfer seat, and use something to lubricate the ramp. It all sounds and looks like it was cobbled together out of whatever parts you found laying around.
Yes China wants to buy so they copy it and then file Chinese patent and start selling design and made in China. Just like all other US design and made products.
I priced this at my Ford Dealer and it is so cost prohibitive. Is there some disability association that would help with cost of acquiring one for a disabled person?
I have been in a wheelchair coming up on 51 yrs due to Vietnam war. When I first started using a wheelchair in 1969 all the major car manufactures offered cars that you could get a wheelchair in behind the front seat with ease. Then all the bigger cars disappeared and everything became four door. This SUV takes to much time to use. With the amount of parking pigs who think their handicap because their hip hurts or they have eaten themselves into world class lard asses with handicap parking placards. You would never have the room to park and use this SUV. I am 76 yrs young and drive a 2005 chevy monte carlo. I can get in or out of my car and into my wheelchair before your automatic door would completely open. This SUV also has to many electric moving parts. A lot to go wrong over time leaving you stranded or trapped inside. Just my two cents from a half century pushing a wheelchair.
I agree with George. I drive a Rivera and just put my chair behind the seat. Quit making these cars in '98 so it's hard to find one without a million miles on it. If they'd just make a 2 door Explorer it would avoid the $40 grand conversion package.
You should use some of that new invention called "grease" on that squeaky rail. Why would you show me a squeaky video? Pretty sure I wouldn't buy one now.
Loading and driving without having to leave one's wheelchair was possible back in 1980 - th-cam.com/video/5h3cgL7g3jc/w-d-xo.html in cars as small as a Ford Fiesta and with no irreversible modifications to the car itself.
This is the adaptation I need!
A 28" opening is kinda tight for some wheelchairs.
where does this car take and how much does it cost
Very interesting? I am with wheelchair so this is very good.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Is there a locking system for the wheelchair? I used to have a van and would lock my chair in to transfer to the B&D driver seat
I believe it is transfer seat capable, but you can contact BraunAbility at 1-800-488-0359 for more specific information.
there is no prices for any of the wheel chair vehicles advertised on the internet! why?
The conversion is over $18,000 USD and that's on top of the vehicle price.
my van was just under $60,000 when it was all finished

How do you keep your wheelchair from floating around the vehicle or being a hazard if you stop fast or are in a crash?
There are anchors you can anchor the chair down with. These are movable, depending on where you place the chair in the van.
I have a disability and I use a wheelchair and a wheelchair van but the van needs work or replacement
Where can I buy it in China. I want buy BraunAbility MXV .Please tell me thank you!!

My left ear enjoyed it
Wonderful
I’m in need of one but can’t afford it being a single disabled mother of two.
I can't afford and I'm a father of none. They sure aren't shy on their prices.
You for that right.
@@ranidavis7694 great information to share, thank you!

Too bad this is only for indiana
They are very expensive. I plan to wait a couple of years for them to start hitting the pre-owned market.
Is this made in India ?

A price to pay for moving with ease for the pwd.

And the cost of that vehicle was,,,???$$$
I would say about $75,000

Another hyper expensive ways to sell cars to disabled people.
