🇩🇪 Moment Tornado Jet Pilots Acknowledge Spotters and Put On The Buckets at RAF Waddington

- This is the GAF Tornado Jets arriving back to Waddington on the morning of Friday 16th September. The Tornado pilots were great for the spotters here, waving to us, turning slightly for a better shot and putting on the buckets and air brakes.
The sound gives me goosebumps! Never get tired of it!

Tornado, Fantastic Machine!
When I served on compulsory conscription in 1983 I was in the anti-aircraft department near Ghedi airport, where there is currently the civilian airport of Montichiari, and for all that time the tornadoes of the 6th "red devils" fighter wing have continued, day after day, to take off at 12 o'clock sharp, making evolutions over my head for the first minutes of flight and then going on a mission and returning at 20 o'clock, to get familiar with the new machines that arrived a few months ago, needless to say that when I was on guard at the central door of the barracks my eyes were always aimed at the sky to enjoy that spectacle.
Although they were a few kilometers away and took off pointing in my direction, it was impossible to speak except screaming and a few cm away between ear and mouth: a total communication black out for a few seconds
In 1996, during a party of the "frecce tricolori" in Rivolto after his display, the GAF pilot (always on a tornado) traveled the taxyway in open cockpit and a Viking helmet (including horns) on his head
