Thanks to you both.A very entertaining video.Tough going for you and the dogs on the "footpath". Life is full of uphills and downhills - especially in Derbyshire! Often more up than down it seems. All the best to you both.
Nice to see some red clover amongst the grass... I have loads of white clover in my garden..so that doesn´t get cut with the mower...the bees love it...and remember the bees don´t need us but we need the bees to help polinate everything
I think we don’t pay enough attention to what is near us in the countryside. Sue loves bees and always watches them and their activities when we are out. Thanks for your great comments Roger 😃👍🏻 Trev
That turned out to be an adventure. I thought Oscar got stuck in the grass for a moment, lol. Well, you made it to the pub, and what a burger! And a whole loaf of bread with your soup :) You needed it after that hike. Sometimes it's those kind of excursions that are the most memorable. Looked like a beautiful day for it. Take care, Debbie - BluWave Odyssey
Hi both, what a walk across the fields, poor little Oscar kept disappearing under the grass, did make me smile. I bet you were pleased to get to the end of the walk across the fields. Pub looked nice as did the food. It put you in good stead for your walk back to the site. I think my feet would have been aching by the time you got back. I remember from my earlier days that there is a path from Tansley which is very rugged and down hill and brings you into Matlock by the cable cars but we parked on a narrow road and wouldn’t have been good for the motorhome. All uphill though on the way back. Xx Tansley is a lovely village and all the cottages are made of Derbyshire stone and in all the surrounding villages. Great video x
Thanks Julie we really enjoyed the walk. It was a challenge for Oscar in the long grass. He is 12 now so we kept stopping for him poor boy. Such a lovely area it’s certainly going to have a return visit 😃👍🏻 Trev
@@PoshcatsCamping aah I wouldn’t have thought he was 12, he is really doing well bless him, glad you enjoyed the area, I’m putting this site on my list to visit x thankyou 🙂
Nice video yes been all round there back in my day did lot of rallying up in the hills nice to see both off you like it . Any way have nice time see you next time .
Walking in long grass is tiring at the best of times, but after that loaf and burger, I don't blame you for taking the road! I'd need a half hour kip if I had to walk through the grass after that meal 😀 Cheers folks 👍 Mart & Jo
What a pretty walk. But 5 miles? Man I'm tired now! That's like exercise for the entire week. Oh boy that burger with onion rings looks so good! And you know I love that church. That's gorgeous. Haha uphill. For me exercise seems uphill both ways lol.
We loved it. I think we could have parked at the livestock market in Bakewell but we hesitated and another motorhome took the space. Next time we will get up early 🤣🚐 cheers Malcolm 👍🏻 Trev
We Went to the Gate in but we walked in the pitch black on a November night 😂 we got a taxi back 😂 for parking we usually go to Sainsbury’s for Matlock and the Train station for Matlock bath. Hope you enjoyed the garden centre. We love it there 😊
It was a fabulous few days and we loved it. We will definitely go back to the area and spend some more time there. Thanks for the recommendations you have good choices 👍🏻😃🚐 Trev
Hi Megan, my walking shoes and jeans got wet but my socks were dry so that’s good ! We had fun on the walk and a nice meal too 😃 Thanks for watching 👍🏻🚐 Trev
It was quite a trek Robert, we didn’t realise the footpaths would be that overgrown. I didn’t record the smelly boggy bit of the walk but the road back was a welcome pathway 😃👍🏻 Trev
Love your subscribe and what not graphic. Where you get something so cool? Might lose the pups in the grass if you're not careful. You gotta worry about snakes in that area? Beautiful scenery. A whole loaf of bread? Haha. Good lookin burger. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Thanks for joining us on the walk. We didn’t think we would make it through the long grass 🤣🤣 I can send the subscribe file to you if you want it. Take care, 😃 Trev
There are a few busses running but not that time of day. We were happy to soldier on up the hill as there was a nice cup of tea waiting back at the van 😃 take care 👍🏻🚐 Trev
Hi Matt, we really enjoyed the area and will definitely return. Shame we didn’t get to see you this time. We want to explore a bit more next time too, we love the villages 👍🏻😃 Trev n Sue
Lovely countryside. Shame the footpath wasn't maintained as it makes the walk hard work. You both looked like you enjoyed it though. Very enjoyable video.
Thank you, yes we have never seen footpaths that overgrown and of course my jeans and boots were soaked. I felt sorry for the dogs but they seemed to cope with it. We still really enjoyed the walk 😃👍🏻 Trev
The wonderful pub meal was well worth the arduous ramble through the fields.
It was a great pub and the staff were very friendly. We watched loads of people arriving so seemed a popular watering hole 👍🏻😃 Trev

Haha ups and downs for sure. A very enjoyable afternoon and it seemed a long way back uphill on a full tummy 🤣 Trev
Thanks for taking us on your walk. I bet you where ready for that drink after that route. 😊😊
Yes we were ready for refreshments after that and a nice cuppa tea when we got back to the van 🚐 😃 Trev
Wow, that was quite the walk, especially through that field and grass. That burger looked delicious! Thanks for taking us along with you 🤗😊
We had fun in the long grass…. Ooops that didn’t sound right 🤣🤣 Thanks for watching 👍🏻🚐 Trev
I love the stone wall fences. Wow! That grass was so tall you almost lost the pups. Nice long walk.👍😊💕
Oscar got very tired jumping in the grass and I needed that pub too 🤣 take care 💕 Trev

Wow this burger looked scrumptious
I think I had that burger on my mind throughout the walk 🤣🤣 Take care 👍🏻🚐 Trev
Matlock is a tight spot for parking - but at least there was cake. ! Those fields looked a challenge . Thanks for sharing Helen and Martin
We always seem to sort out something else to do if the plan goes wrong. That seems to be the beauty of motorhoming 😃 take care both 👍🏻🚐 Trev

Haha…. That burger was my reward 😉 We did find the outbound part quite tricky but it was a lovely afternoon 😃👍🏻 Trev
Only 495 miles to go (plus another 500) and you've got yourselves a Proclaimers song! 😉🤣 Pub looked a good one and worth the walk. 👍
Usually 500 steps is enough for me, not 500 miles 🤣🤣 cheers John 👍🏻😃 Trev
That Pub burger look delicious! 👍 Graeme
It was a really nice pub. Staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. Thanks Graeme 😃👍🏻 Trev
Great video Trev. Matlock is always busy.👍😊Malcolm.

It is a chore walking in tall grass indeed, nice walk though, :o) xx
We had fun but did lose sight of the footpath for a while. Once we located the gate we knew we could get to the village. Thanks for watching 😃 Trev
I did enjoy that walk with you, and would have enjoyed that burger too! 😋
The burger was rather tasty and I did share a tiny bit with the dogs but the rest was mine 🤣 Thanks for watching 🚐 Take care 👍🏻 Trev
That was quite a walk! Lol. Hope you got your feet dried out before the walk home! ~Megan

that was fantastic
Thank you Larry, we enjoyed it too. A bit of fun and a tasty burger 🤣🤣 Trev
I like the look of the site Trev & Sue but I don't fancy doing the trek across those fields, although, the food did look good.
Thanks for sharing.

There are a few busses running but not that time of day. We were happy to soldier on up the hill as there was a nice cup of tea waiting back at the van 😃 take care 👍🏻🚐 Trev
This is literally 2 miles from my house, I live in Tupton Chesterfield just outside of Ashover… would have loved to have hooked up for a drink 😀
Hi Matt, we really enjoyed the area and will definitely return. Shame we didn’t get to see you this time. We want to explore a bit more next time too, we love the villages 👍🏻😃 Trev n Sue
Great video, loved the pub, was wondering, did they keep refilling the soup bowl until the bread has gone.😂😂
🤣🤣🤣 that’s funny. I don’t think Sue would make it up the hill 👍🏻 Trev
Welovegoing for the bakewell pudding. With cream x
Not good for my diet 😜 Trev
Lovely countryside. Shame the footpath wasn't maintained as it makes the walk hard work. You both looked like you enjoyed it though. Very enjoyable video.

Trev loved your Burger 😁
That was some burger Colin. I don’t very often have them but this was a great treat after the walk 😃 Trev
Loads of effort to get to the pub , and ….Where did the coke come from ??? 😂👍🏻
I should of asked for a beer but I was driving the next morning so opted for the coke. I am definitely a lightweight these days 🤣👍🏻🚐 Trev
Come on dad, your holding me back...... Oscar
He was enjoying it until we hit the long grass and then he showed his age (like me 🤣) it was a great walk though 😃👍🏻 Trev
What a shame Kaths was closed. Looked a good walk though
It looked a nice place. The extra walk allowed me to justify the burger 🤣🤣 Thanks for the recommendations, we had a great week 👍🏻🚐 Trev
I love your camper nice 5 mile walk Friends Love the old stone house buildings
