Finally a sound and sober voice. I would even go as far as saying that comparing the two is dumb because they're so very different. Messi could be compared to Maradona. CR7 could be compared to... I don't know. In my 38 years watching the game I cannot say that I have seen anyone as complete of a player as CR7. The best comparison I can make is Tom Brady (Messi) vs. Aaron Rodgers (CR7). Or better yet in this corrupted environment; Apple vs. Samsung.
I accept that Ronaldo is a great player in skills like heading, long range goals and by what I've seen in this particular video assists. I find something interesting about people who watch the football for the first time, especially Messi and Ronaldo. When you are not a fan, don't know anything about football and sees Messi's football game then they love it because it is too easy to understand and mainly he does dribbling that is his speciality so, it's easy for people to understand and they love it. Whereas Ronaldo, he does complex skills and unique stuffs and who is rookie they don't understand at first glance. If you really want to judge them both or Ronaldo in a full way you have to watch with passion and you should know what they are capable of doing for their Country and clubs. Love them both but for me CR7 is first and Messi is second best.

As a passionate football follower now, it's totally foolish to say Messi is better than Ronaldo. You'd have to understand that Messi played his whole life in the most comfortable circumstances for a footballer, since day one he was surrounded with legends of football in Barcelona, the whole team was serving him. Cristiano had to fight nails and teeth for his position in any team and had to prove himself, went through bullying and played in the most difficult league in football. Switched to Real Madrid when they were still rebuilding the team and had to be patient for years until his first trophy. Madrid was all players in their early 20s whereas Barcelona was full of veterans, Cristiano always looked for challenges instead of comfortable clubs. That's why he deserves more respect.

The bright red kits and the blue kits are Man United. The white kits and the black kits were mostly Real Madrid. Some of the white kits where Portugal and the darker red kits were the Portugese kits. Ronaldo is one of the best players of all time. He's at least up there with Messi. He's more physical and has a better shot. He's not as good at dribbling but he has also held himself in better shape over the years and will most likely play world class soccer longer

Only one correction Messi has been more of a centre forward than a traditional striker and besides that has mostly played as a Right winger (not left). For now he has taken up the RW position again for a couple of seasons.
He actually is a left footed player but plays on the right as an Inverted Winger (wingers which are used for finishing rather than delivering crosses), Cristiano Ronaldo plays as an inverted winger too.
