Pretty good review! I love your channel, by the way. I’m a Costa Rican citizen, and let’s face it, it’s a very, very expensive country by default. Going to some of these resorts is not possible for 90% of the local population, so I really appreciate that you take the time to review and be critical of these expensive places. I usually check your reviews since I travel a lot locally, and most of the time, you’ve already been there, so I appreciate it. Not sure why some people are upset in the comments. This place is $1,300 per night, and only breakfast is included, which is very expensive. Planning to stay there for a few nights could push the total cost to $4,000 or $5,000, plus food. If there’s no nearby beach (and it’s not a nice one, by the way), a private pool that’s not working, and poor service, this place is a scam. As someone mentioned in one of the comments, I would rather go to a place like Planet Hollywood nearby, where all food and drinks are included, a great beach is within walking distance, and the service is decent, for probably half the price you paid there. What makes Las Catalinas attractive is the town’s architecture. If you want to visit, an Airbnb or the other hotel there might do the trick. Again, thanks for the great information!

I really enjoyed your perspective on that resort. Personally there are so many beautiful beaches in Costa Rica that you could stay in at $100 a night room, and have a beautiful view and a beautiful beach
I just got back from Liberia Costa Rica and it was heavenly!!!We stayed at the beautiful Riu Palace Resort. Don’t know what this mess you’re showing but The Rui is Awesome,the entire staff are also awesome.Pools and scenery is to die for. The beach is right off the pool area. And boy!All their restaurants are great!!!
I can concur with a lot of what he’s saying. Especially for that price! When you vacant a week at Liberia Costa Rica, for a lot less than the price he paid, you get spoiled! The Rui Palace All Inclusive , didn’t disappoint! We’re ready to go back again. They have The sister Hotel across the way from The Resort, it is nice, but still not like The Resort. I notice he didn’t say anything about The entertainment. I don’t think he were being picky. After experiencing The Rui, I would be very disturbed. I wished I could send you guys some of my photos from there. I am not Mobile phone Davy. This is not the I-had when we took our amazing trip. If someone would be interested in seeing some of my photos, tell me how to send through this sight,I would to share my photos.
at about 1:20 in the video I do list the price... I had it as text at bottom of screen as I was talking... anyway $1300ish a night... a lot. Next time I'll just say the price instead of having it as text
How do I know if I like if I don't go. At $1300 a night, I think you should expect a lot. My review was balanced and fair.... 95% of my reviews are positive... but if I'm dissapointed I should say so.
Yeh maybe.... bad design and overpriced resorts do get me worked up especailly when there are sooo amny better options in Costa Rica at 1/2 or even 1/4 of the price.

Was at this resort in April of 2024 for my girlfriend’s birthday, and it was amazing! Worth every penny!
