    Orphaned Land are one of the most popular bands across the middle east and mediterranean and are extremely popular in islamic countries because they incorporate lyrics and stories from across the religions of the area with respect and understanding. It's not uncommon for metal fans in these countries to put aside their differences, welcome each other and enjoy each other's company seeing the band live. I'm not religious and I love them because they promote the idea that it doesn't matter who you are or what you believe you can be united by the love of music.

    Great message, reminding them that they are all brothers commanded to help each other, not kill each other. Love the Middle Eastern metal combination.

    • @TheDretch
      @TheDretch ปีที่แล้ว +1

      FALSE. You clearly know nothing about Islam. The Quran has over 100 commands to kill and subjugate non-Muslims singling out both Christians, Jews, and anyone none-Muslim.

    • @bartonbagnes4605
      @bartonbagnes4605 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheDretch True I have never read it in the original language, as stanch Muslims insist is the only way to understand it's true meaning. But it also forbids killing anyone. It's a bit contradictory in many ways. But then so is the Bible in its current form. And those one hundred times depends on how you interpret the wording. And which form of Islam you follow.

    • @TheDretch
      @TheDretch ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bartonbagnes4605 Incorrect. It does not forbid "killing anyone". You said you never read it, but then go on to say what it says?
      According to Islam, there is the law of abrogation. This means when there are two contradictory passages the passage that comes later supersedes the passage that comes earlier. ALL the peaceful verses are early. ALL the violent verses are later and have superseded the earlier verses. This is factual law that all Muslims know.
      We're not talking about the bible. Jews and Christians aren't going around raging war in the name of the bible or acts of jihad. Additionally, the Bible is predominately DESCRIPTIVE. Meaning it's telling stories. The quran is PRESCRIPTIVE. Giving direct commands.
      The quran calls Mohammad a "perfect person" to emulate. Mohammad was Jew-hating genocidal wife-beating child rapist. Anyone (All Muslims) who thinks that savage barbarian is a perfect person to emulate (800 million Muslims named Mohammad?) is suspect.
      85% of Muslims worldwide are Sunni with 15% Shia. They may differ on some hadiths, but both follow the Quran and Mohammad the one and only perfect person to emulate. That's a fact.
      Quran (8:12) - "(Remember) when your Lord inspired the angels... "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"

    Thank you for using my suggestion. I love Orphaned Land. I have met and hung with them on several occasions. They are wonderful guys, and they practice what they preach. Their overall message is about spreading peace, and thats a big reason why inlove them.

    In solidarity for being real, I was a bit confused by the video, and it was throwing me off enjoying the music. I thought it was decent, but not my favorite. But you diving into the lyrics really up’d my appreciation of both the music video and the song. So thank you!

    Orphaned Land is the band that decided to speak up. Just as you said. The only thing that keeps many people from uniting is that they believe the program (pogrom) that has been set for them.
    "Nothing is further from the truth than that which is separating"

    He will propose something from the other side of religion. Orphanad Land is an oriental, mystical metal.
    I recommend A lot of symbolism.

    So Orphaned Land started as Prog metal with rather harsh vocals and added this unique vibe.
    They told in an interview that they were sitting in Synagogue with Iron Maiden shirts and listening to the cantor singing religious hymns and such, which gave them inspiration.
    I can give you a lot of details and suggestions about their music (that can be very soft and gentle in songs like "Brother" and "Let the truce be known", or over the top headbanging with songs like "Disciples of the sacred oath II" or "Codename Baraka".
    Their newest album also has songs referring to more modern things, as well as songs about Plato's Cave and such. Really worth it.
    Overall, if you want try their live DVD from 2011 to get a good sense - this is a long show (although some of the songs from it are out there):
    th-cam.com/video/XXH62AmUEdI/w-d-xo.html
    It has Steve Wilson (Porcupine Tree) who is playing two of their songs live (he also produced some of their albums), as well as the father of one of the band members singing with them... reall joy and an amazing mix of stuff.
    Well worth you time.

    What, only 36 comments so far? I have to increase that 😉.
    I have heard Orphaned Land before, but not this song. I think they have improved quite a bit, thanks for bringing that to my attention.
    But Orphaned Land are not the first hard rock/metal band that used oriental influences in their music. The oldest example I''m aware of is the song "Gates of Babylon" by Rainbow (1978). Highly recommended, it comes with the added benefit of Ronnie James Dio as singer.
    Today there are also Melechesh, but with a much darker vibe.

    I'm glad you came across Orphaned Land. I used to listen to them a little long time ago and I wasn't paying much attention to their lyrics, especially because they mix English, Hebrew and Arabic, often even in a same song. But I understood that all their music was about spreading the message of unity and I love that about them.
    I don't like this song much, but they have some really cool ones, both melodic, oriental sounding and also very heavy ones, like really heavy, with growling.
    If you want to hear more from them I would suggest "Norra el norra" or maybe "Sapari".
    However, there is one more Israeli band that is worth of checking. They are alternative/hard rock. I really love few of their songs and the male vocalist of the band. His voice is one of the most beautiful male voices to me. Btw, he sings together with his wife in the band. And the band's caled Hayehudim.
    If you want to check them I recommend you unplugged live version of song "Lipol".

    Cool to see resctions from music around the world. There are times when I'm in the mood to explore the internet looking to listen to someting different or be amazed with some bands (knowing or not the language) Many times I find myself dissapointed... but some times I find gems like these :)
    If you plan on returning to Japan music, I recommend checking out Crystal King (old rock band) maybe the tracks Daitokai (The city) or Church. Cheers!!!

    Nice reaction, I hope you could react to another interesting songs from Orphaned Land, I recommend you: “children”, “brother”, “let the truce be known”, and most “like Orpheus”, you’re the first to understand and can explain the real message of these songs, thank you.

    Nice! I didn't expect you to react to this one of my favorite bands, so this is great! That said while this song is cool for introducing people to OL is not really one of my favorites and the whole religious imagery can be off putting at first glance but if you listen to them more you can see how great, peace loving and thought provoking they can be with songs that can range from very aggressive to soft and folky or very progressive. I hope you check more from them, I recommend Like Orpheus which is on the simpler side but has a cool video that will illustrate the whole theme of people coming together with music despite different religions.

    Mega Reaction!🤍 Ich finde es super, dass du Therapeutin bist und uns damit was auf dem Weg gibst.😁 Du musst unbedingt auf die Band "Citizen Soldier" reagieren.🙏 Denn der Sänger ist grad selbst angehender Therapeut, nachdem er 2016 versucht hatte sich das Leben zu nehmen. Nach diesem Ereignis gründete er die Band und macht ausschließlich nur Musik über mental-health und das man sein Leben nicht aufgeben soll. Wenn du magst, reagier mal auf deren Song "Limit"🙌. Denn dort beschreiben der Sänger und sein Kumpel (das Feature) ihre eigenen Geschichten.💔

    great song & reaction! this melting pot of the three big monotheistic religions should work out that everybody shall have the right to be a little bit blasphemous and more tolerant! It's all about the people and not the religion. If metal brings the people together it does more than every government or every tiny politician!

  • @stan5409

    The song is very exciting but very overproduced ala Phil Specter, leaving the lyrics hidden behind a cacophony of music. One side note I've never heard mentioned in all my years. It doesn't matter if one is for or against the existence of Israel in what I'm about to ask but why is every silent and/or ignorant about the founding of Pakistan only one year (1946) before Israel? Pakistan is on Indian land and 2 million died during its creation. They still fight to this day but people focus on Israel. People were displaced or lost their lives. Interesting.
