Love the videos where you're chasing someone. It really helps alleviate the GoPro effect when you see someone just nosedive and disappear off screen, or the times when you're off to the side filming, it really showcases the size and scale of features.
I like watching both Dale AND Dave's videos because it's cool to see how they handle their bikes, as well as the pov shots. The audio on this video was great. Extra crunchy, the clarity of bike vs rocks.
Ah, Vancouver in the autumn. Watching Dave get all squirrelly down that chute at 2:33 was quite the sight! Good job on that skinny at the end Dale… I know the wet freaks you out. My second autumn riding now, and yup, the wet messes with my confidence too. It’s going to take a bit for me to adjust.
Hi, I have found your channel not even a week ago but i am starting to love it. I love the aspect that you ride and not talk the half of the video like others do. Thanks for your content keep the good work!
Smooth operator! That ”disgusting skinny” in the end was ridden and exited like it was on top of clouds. I feel like 23 is the year i might stay on focus riding skinnys again, that looked terrifying, but not horrible.. know what i mean..? Thanks for the boost of confidence!
I know Im commenting on oldere videos, but heh Im enjoying catching up, man we have tree roots on trails here and they get SLICK, let alone the bridges, love that real fast flowy section with jumps at start of video before "neds"
At 9:14 it was pretty cool how you transitioned from a perfectly panned shot of Braden and Dave riding to you then following them down the trail. You don't see that very often! Nicely done!
Yeah, getting used to the wet wood, roots, and rocks after the really long dry stretch this summer and getting used to dry and loose conditions more akin to SoCal than the PNW is going to be a challenge!
Haha if that’s winter riding I’ll take it!! Snow forecast here in Calgary so the enduro is likely getting its winter rest and the fat bike and studded tires are getting woken up! Great ride and footage as always!!!
I’ve ridden in some wet conditions, but I don’t think I ever rode in this wet of conditions! I find that it can be fun if it’s wet on some trails. (Sometimes I hate it to.)
"slippery nightmare".....just going to send it like it's nothing, though, because.......TH-cam! Haha, awesome ride for some challenging conditions......"that skinny was disgusting", was a good laugh.
Happy to hear you also find Cabin and TNT to be tough! I don't feel so bad now. Would you say they are a couple of the toughest trails on Seymour? I don't have a problem with any of the other trails there.
Would love some tips on how to ride more confident in the wet... There is a round log that I always try no matter if its wet or dry but when its wet I always seem to slip off and I dont touch my brakes at all ...I guess I'm just not splitting the middle like I should?? Awesome video by the way! That trail looms like a dream😍
Wet wood and roots. What could go wrong? My buddies have broken collar bones and one took a rock through his kneecap. NBD. /s Great lines and technique.
Hey Dale, I wonder if you would also take part in the EWS 100 (TH-cam edition) if Nick did it again. I think you have a better chance of winning than you think.
Do you also carry a microphone to amplify the sound of your tires on the trail? Sounds amazing. I could listen to that all day. Top job on the colour grading as well. Vid looks amazing and sounds amazing 👏
I've been following +30 pov mtb youtubers for years. Noone have been close to your quality! Do you do much editing or is it 60fps that does the difference? I'm so impressed with your riding and video quality 👍👍
There's obviously a gradient there, no one angle is "definitely not". I've cleaned tough climbs with an array of head angles with slightly different body language to compensate!
nobody ever believes me until we get back to the car but my feet dont get wet or cold, haven't been wet in over a decade. i can literally walk and jump around in ankle deep water all day and they dont get wet. now if i could just figure out how to keep my ass dry
Nice, wrong video to ask on without context haha. I wouldn't recommend Mercer anymore. There are too many deactivated roads and logging cuts in place now to complete the loop I did a few years ago. It would be a heinous out and back after Skyway itself, down Thurston FSR.
It's looking a bit late for this year, but the local options of LotS, the new AlpX heli-drop trail, and Elfin are the only real MTB options. The interior has lots of good stuff, though I'm not sure on snow conditions haha.
welp....i think i am almost done with you guys; the woods are GORGEOUS for sure...and your bike skills are next level trickster and trials for sure. but honestly the trickster and trials stuff is just too much with yall (Van Can and Dangerous Dave)
Love the videos where you're chasing someone. It really helps alleviate the GoPro effect when you see someone just nosedive and disappear off screen, or the times when you're off to the side filming, it really showcases the size and scale of features.
If I had my way, every video would be following someone different to keep things interesting!
@@DaleStone that'd be sweet. Crossing my fingers you can get some rides with some of the other BC TH-camrs like Van Cam or BCPOV
The Canadian forests are so damn gorgeous.
So true man 👍 I have always envied them 🤩😅
I like watching both Dale AND Dave's videos because it's cool to see how they handle their bikes, as well as the pov shots.
The audio on this video was great. Extra crunchy, the clarity of bike vs rocks.
Ah the sweet symphony of wet brakes. Winter has indeed arrived.
yellow jacket buddy is a ninja. nice work.
That opening clip though 🔥🔥🔥
Lol at the guy in front's crazy laugh as you go down an incredibly slippery root heavy part.
I had the same reaction as Dale watching Dave go down those roots "Oh my gawd!"
That rootball was unkosher.
Hi,
I have found your channel not even a week ago but i am starting to love it.

Thanks for your content keep the good work!
Thanks, I try to keep it raw! 🤘

Best low light colour grading on TH-cam! Wish I could get my footage to look that good...
Haha thanks! Glad I bought that new monitor for Christmas... :)
So much confidence on these wet roots and rocks, impressive. Thanks for your inspiring content!
That dude in the yellow jacket, back wheel smacked wildly sidways when he hit those rocks!
Very cool. I’m actually watching this on magic mushrooms and the colours are amazing 👌🏻
I know Im commenting on oldere videos, but heh Im enjoying catching up, man we have tree roots on trails here and they get SLICK, let alone the bridges, love that real fast flowy section with jumps at start of video before "neds"
These videos in the wet are so entertaining I could watch this for 8 hours straight.
Great video, no annoying music and high quality footage with great riding and trails
Looks so beautiful there , great camera quality
At 9:14 it was pretty cool how you transitioned from a perfectly panned shot of Braden and Dave riding to you then following them down the trail. You don't see that very often! Nicely done!
The 😈 is in the details señor.
@@DaleStone i noticed them senpai
that bridge was cool im sure they dropped it by chopper while the Rock hung from the guy line🤣
adding ned's to the list! that looks so fun
love watching the non-pros shredding. Good riding boys
Respect for being able to ride good in those conditions, awesome vid
If I don't keep up, I can't see the lines...
Yeah, getting used to the wet wood, roots, and rocks after the really long dry stretch this summer and getting used to dry and loose conditions more akin to SoCal than the PNW is going to be a challenge!
i just found this channel and its the best quality video EVER!!! and so entertaining
Baha 'hope you enjoy' Ned's - what a laugh 😅
Wow what an awesome trail love the long footage thank you really enjoyed 💥💥💥
Another great edit Dale. Love the dueling brake clarinets #rainride
Man I know New Zealand has some great tracks but you guys are Blessed!
So lucky!!!
Those trails are the stuff of dreams!
When you hear the trumpet-esque sound of brakes screaming through the woods, you know it’s early fall on the north shore
I enjoyed every second of this video, awesome
Haha if that’s winter riding I’ll take it!! Snow forecast here in Calgary so the enduro is likely getting its winter rest and the fat bike and studded tires are getting woken up!
Great ride and footage as always!!!
Wow beautiful but difficult. It has atmosphere in wet weather :)
ahhh its so satisfying , i love it! Hope u and everyone else has a great day today😃
Happy Thanksgiving!
Your picture quality is amazing! Could you please do video on your settings tricks?
Awesome video man 🙏
I’ve ridden in some wet conditions, but I don’t think I ever rode in this wet of conditions! I find that it can be fun if it’s wet on some trails. (Sometimes I hate it to.)
10:48 ok what’s a ‘giant baby head’ lol 👼
A big ol' rock. 🪨
@@DaleStone …big & round & shiny? haha
Yes
"slippery nightmare".....just going to send it like it's nothing, though, because.......TH-cam! Haha, awesome ride for some challenging conditions......"that skinny was disgusting", was a good laugh.
Camera confidence, a serious condition!
Love all your content! What do you guys wear riding in typical north shore conditions like these?
Waterproof jacket, pants, socks and gloves in that order!
Happy to hear you also find Cabin and TNT to be tough! I don't feel so bad now. Would you say they are a couple of the toughest trails on Seymour? I don't have a problem with any of the other trails there.
In the dry no, in the wet I'd say they're easily #2 and #3 behind C-Buster!
Would love some tips on how to ride more confident in the wet...

I am not the one to take wet weather tips from, as I'm looking for them myself!
@@DaleStone I'd say your doing something right...😅
Great riding and trails! No idea how you have grip on those wet wooden bits! They would be like ice in the uk
They're like ice here too! Sheer willpower, haha.
@@DaleStone and skill! I probably wouldn't have walked that one near the end in the dry let alone wet lol! :(
I'm not kidding when I wrote "camera confidence" on screen... 😆
Wet wood and roots. What could go wrong? My buddies have broken collar bones and one took a rock through his kneecap. NBD. /s
Great lines and technique.
Hey Dale, nice video once again, what kind of pants and other rain protective clothing are you using if I may ask?
Endura pants and jacket, nice winter sugoi gloves, maybe waterproof socks this year.
Great content as always from Dale!!! Could you show the temperature when your video starts?
There is minimal chance I can remember to do that. 😆
Hey Dale, I wonder if you would also take part in the EWS 100 (TH-cam edition) if Nick did it again. I think you have a better chance of winning than you think.
100% would be down for the TH-camr showdown. Hopefully on a network of elaborate skinnies. 🧠
I would love to watch an ews 100 video
I wish I had 1/3 of your skills... being riding for 4 years (not nearly enough each year). I'd never be able to do this XD
That looks like primo shore conditions my dude
The Hydrocut closes if the weather even thinks about raining... Here you guys are riding in a river. I gotta move to BC
I was going to say exactly those words on Ned's, but decided it was best not too haha.
@@DaleStone At least we have Puslinch. Problem is, no one can beat any of your damn KOM's!
Haha, the 58 minute club needs more members! 🙂
Time to break out the dual DHFS hahaha
You know me well. 🙈
May I ask how u managed to find the best GoPro settings ever?? Are you a undercover working for GoPro???????????
Jordan Boostmaster has a very good in depth video about GoPro settings.
I agree, my hero 9 would look so grainy, and Dale managed to get that in 60fps?! Bravo
Decent traction you got there. What's your tire/insert/pressure?
DHF/DHF, rear insert, maybe 20R/18F.
Do you also carry a microphone to amplify the sound of your tires on the trail? Sounds amazing. I could listen to that all day.
Top job on the colour grading as well. Vid looks amazing and sounds amazing 👏
All in-camera!
Sick man! What tyres do you guys run in those conditions? Maxxis DHF/DHR?
It's the DHF/DHF life for me.
I've been following +30 pov mtb youtubers for years. Noone have been close to your quality! Do you do much editing or is it 60fps that does the difference? I'm so impressed with your riding and video quality 👍👍
Colour correct the flaming hot garbage then straight to upload!
Hey Dale, since you ride XTR brakes, do they brake better in your experience than XT brakes or is it just about the weight?
I've tried SLX, XT and XTR of the new series. No real difference in power; just weight, aesthetics, more range in the i-spec, and bling!
WOOoOoOoOO
fire single
What winter rain gear do you ride? Any recommendations to keep warm and dry?
Endura jacket and pants. Spend lots on nice gloves, Sugoi are my go to. Going to try the waterproof sock strategy this year.
important question, do you have set things you ring the bell for? or do you just ring it whenever you feel like it? great videos btw
The latter! 🛎️🛎️
Hi Dale, can you tell me what jacket Dave is wearing? I need some Winter riding gear haha
Go ask him on his channel!
@@DaleStone alright be right back haha, thank you!
Man nothing like the sound of wet brakes. And I still don’t understand the ding dings
Hey Dale, I was wondering what your gopro set up is?
8 black on me chin!
I have nightmares of riding on wet wood and slipping and then losing my front teeth, I'll pass on this trail for today lol.
That seems like healthy nightmare material honestly.
Are the roots and wooden elements in Canada not slippery when they wet? 😮
Very wet and horrible usually! Rough cut cedar is alright but anything pressure treated is death.
60fps it the way to go
Hey Dale, can you tell me what you really look for in a technical climb/descending mtb? I'm looking for something besides my top fuel.
That's a very open question. Any bike can be good at those two things. Typically on the smaller size of the recommended size range for climbs.
@@DaleStone do you feel there's a slack head tube angle at which it starts to hinder low speed maneuverability?
There's obviously a gradient there, no one angle is "definitely not". I've cleaned tough climbs with an array of head angles with slightly different body language to compensate!
@@DaleStone dale...
Im a beginning mountainbiker from the Netherlands and i want to buy my first bike. What do you recommend? I have looked into trek and giant so far
Not sure what the trails are like in the Netherlands, but a proper bike store can help point you in the right direction!
Awesome video. Can I ask what camera you used to record this, was it a gopro? If so, what settings did you use? Thanks!
8 black, dunno the settings!
Nice
What bike computer do you ride with, great footage as usual.
Elemnt Bolt

Would you still recommend the loop up THURSTON FSR up Mount Mercer?
