One of my favorite teachers. I highly recommend his workshops. His teaching on color helped me as a beginner to advance quite quickly with understanding color and color matching. How exciting to see him on this show!
Paul is an incredible painter! Watch him on his TH-cam channel where he has more time to go into detail, and you will learn more than you ever imagined. Thanks, Eric, for hosting this!
I really enjoyed watching this artist ! His his information is just priceless if you’re a painter. I have been painting for 25 years mainly landscapes. It always amazes me. There are so many things to understand you just never stop learning. This is not something that you go to school to learn it and you know all the ways to know ! You must continue studying and painting for decades a lifetime . Thanks 🙏 Mark Mace
Permanent Red Rose is another blue red. I do love quinachridone red and magenta though! And yes, Alizarin Crimson is not nearly as nice as these others. Love your video and there’s so much good info here, thanks Paul and Eric!
OMG! Eric, please stop interrupting the guest so much! It's so frustrating, I almost turned this off by the time the video was only about 14 minutes in.
@@artschoollive Thanks Eric. Hope you weren't offended, none intended. Thank you for the wonderful videos you provide every day. It is truly a treasure!
Respectfully disagree - I think when Eric pipes in it helps beginners like me because he often asks questions about concepts that I myself wonder about but can’t articulate- in the moment - which is a helpful shortcut (I don’t watch these live) to fill in gaps in the demo

Alizarine crimson is blueish red.
My granddaughter does silks. She is a very strong young lady
Could you use magenta in place of quinacradone red?
In some cases but mix results will vary.
👋 from Indiana
When he speaks of colour value does he mean opaque versus transparent? I.e cad orange vs orange oxide
No, he means light/dark
Value means dark to light. Some values are dark, others are light. Usually about 9 shades between black and white. Good question. I get it a lot.
Hi from WA

This is a great video but, sometimes, Eric forgets who the star is.
