I stopped playing gacha games after I felt nothing when getting rare characters. Then realizing I'm not enjoying the games anymore, and just wasting my time for nothing valuable. Then I played older games instead and having fun also made memories with them, uninstalled all of my gacha games one by one and never looked back. Feels refreshing for not being forced to log in every day for a reward that's worth nothing.
Gacha games are the pinnacle the soulless money generation that capitalism thrives upon. Creating false demand for a product that no one needs, or actually wants truthfully, through marketing alone. At least gambling is regulated and preys upon adults instead of fucking children who have no concept of money. Even loot boxes are better, since they are for cosmetics only. Paying money periodically to progress a game is the literal least fun way to play. The main gameplay loop is literally just digging a hole that is your gambling addiction deeper and deeper. They will keep getting made because they make fuckloads of money. This is not a condemnation of people who play gacha games, just those that promote and make them.
The worst part of Gacha games is that they are designed specifically to target and abuse gambling adicts. Something like 90% of most gacha games revenew comes from a tiny percent of players who are horribly addicted to gambling. On top of that its literaly just making a product worse in order to abuse an ilness.
at long as capitalism exist, these type of profit-making will never end. (or humanity end first lol who know). P/S: well at this point i think humanity will end first.
Ya most gacha games give you enough to save for a character you really want. Gambling addicts would just waste the money somewhere else it's not the games fault.
As A gacha player myself, I agree with your points in the video. Gacha games was okay or good, depending on the gacha game back then, but recently its not appealing anymore and I feel more attracted to older games that don't make me pay for rng to get better characters and the grind is more satisfactory for me. The only gacha games I'm somewhat serious about is limbus company (gameplay is not my cup of tea, still okay enough, but I mainly play it for the excellent story telling and character development) And reverse 1999 ( mainly because I just find it weirdly interesting for me thats all) and thats the only 2 gacha games I'm somewhat serious about and willing to play. Everything else is just either meh or uninteresting.
I tried Pokémon Masters just to see what it's like. I only quit it and the franchise after being unsatisfied with how Sword and Shield turned out and the company refusing to fix it. That's nearly £1000 that I'll never get back.
I only play gacha games because I have nothing else to do and I only have a phone and an ipad and my school computer and I can't really find a good mobile game that doesn't have gacha. Like punishing gray raven has amazing combat but of COURSE there has to be gacha 🙄

Omg yes when I deleted the gacha games I was playing I remember just feeling so free
You're not alone
Gacha games are just weird in general
I haven't spent money on any but they are just constant time sinks.
Great video and loved the editing

Bro this is your best video yet, good shit. This was a fun watch, and I related to too much of it 🤘😔
2:33 or you could just...use the currency the game gives you to pull for the character instead.

most people of course use the free currency first. But then players will get tempted to spend real money
