We have done a lot of train travel around the world, and this first class overnight train from Kyiv to Lviv, Ukraine surprised us in a few different ways. We give a tour of our private room, show the bathroom, do a little bit of delirious giggling, sleep for 5 hours, and arrive in Lviv by 6 a.m.!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this TH-cam channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

    Quick advice:
    1) Ask for another sheet if yours dirty, wet, or package is not safe. It's free)
    2) AC start to work when train moves, and you can check if you train have AC, when you buying tickets on the website.
    3) Put your stuff under the bed, there's a empty space.
    4) WC button (red/green) shows if WC is open or someone's there.

Rich and Kirsten I agree! I was watching a train review on the train from London to Paris, and I scrolled through the suggested videos and saw Kara and Nate’s video about the trans Siberian railway I was curious so I decided to watch. By the end of it I wanted more. So I watched their entire train journey and fell in love with their personalities. Obviously I had to binge watch from the beginning. I look up to their bravery, and out look on life. The videos were so raw in the beginning. Love the cute moments they share with us as well as the vulnerable moments.

On older trains is you lift up the lower berth, you'll find storage there. I love your train videos, and nothing beats an overnight train. Probably the most fun you can have while on the move.

Those stains look like bedbug remains. When they're squashed, they leave behind blood (sometimes red sometimes brown) and it can stain sheets permanently. Make sure you watch out for any bedbugs that got on your stuff (they're hidey! and can really only be killed by squashing or Really high heat, like an industrial dryer), but the sheet could've easily been from another compartment, or even another train if the sheets are washed as often as they should be. Though, that one definitely should've been thrown away. :D Thanks for sharing this part of your journey!

Anyone else who spent the entire time thinking how Nate was going to wake Kara up with a coffee, given the water/faucet situation on the train??? Had to wait until 13:00 mins in to see how Nate would give the gorgeous Kara coffee.... solution Coffee shop 3km away. Im guessing Kara would have settled for "tasteless brown water within walking distance" if she had to.
I think we all know Kara to well by now!!
Ive also picked up on Karas habit of peanut butter out of the jar to save $$ on lunch!! Does anyone remember there Melbourne Australia vlog down ths Great Ocean Road trip when she called it "Peeaaanue Butter". 😅😅😅
